If there’s lots of light to work with, then this is a very capable sensor, an interesting body design, and I have always liked working in BRAW. But for most of the work I do as a solo operator the FX3 and FX6 are far better tools. There’s so much more latitude.
Yeah depending on what you are shooting and also need autofocus the fx6 is a better option and it has internal ND. With that said it’s also 2x the price. Always have to come back to the crazy low price of the Pyxis for what it is
@ I had two BMCCs last year for a film project and was not satisfied with the output in lower light situations. I made it work after a lot of fussing with NR in Resolve. But I don’t want those worries for paid work so it doesn’t matter that the FX6 is more money. I have more confidence that my deliverables can hit the mark with clients. And the price difference isn’t all that much by the time you finish building out the Pyxis. Not to mention the agency work which in many cases will require an extra transcode out of BRAW. There’s no time for that. The Pyxis is an interesting, entry level, dead end for commercial work. I’m sorta curious to see how BM addresses the mid-priced Ursa segment of their lineup, maybe that camera will be of interest. But I’m even more curious to see how Sony takes on the C400 as it puts the FX9 out to pasture.
that is no proof? the ff 6k blackmagic sensor is developed by blackmagic, they produce their own sensors a while ago. "The Blackmagic Pyxis sensor is developed in-house by Blackmagic Design, not sourced from Sony or another third party. Blackmagic has made significant advancements in designing their own sensors to better control image quality, color science, and performance tailored specifically for their cameras. This is a shift from some earlier Blackmagic cameras that used off-the-shelf sensors, such as Sony’s. With the Pyxis sensor, Blackmagic emphasizes their proprietary technology to stand out in the cinema camera market."
nice review.. but now days people want to carry around compact cameras. like Panasonic Lx100ii, S9 or Sony ZVE1.. smaller camera body with 4K or even 5K full-frame sensors
Love the Pyxis! I love all the builds you did, you gave me some ideas.
🙌🏼
I really love the image out from this PYXSIS. I just used it for my new movie for big screen.

this with typoch or leica R would be great to have!
Leica R lenses are beautiful
Is this a sales pitch?
Depends on how you view it. Just sharing my thoughts after using it for the last 4 months.
@@LeeZavitzsince the camera is a repackaged 6k pro, do you think that form factor warrants the price difference?
Is there a mount for Sony E Mount that's effective?
No just L, EF, PL
lets gooooooooo
Yass

This camera is not meant to carry around, it’s meant for bigger productions with a crew for the most part
@ yes i agree !! keep up the good work, bro.
Okay I had no idea the iPhone could be used as a monitor
Yeah but it’s too much latency to use as your main display
uffff you need a better colorist dude, dont be afraid of pulling down gamma
