Nice review, thanks a lot! I recently purchased a Fujifilm S4200 for about $18 (1000 roubles) and was very impressed with it's features and capabilities (especially the image stabilizer). I think that bridge cameras such as this are undeservedly forgotten nowadays.
one of my favorite cameras was the old fuji a series compact with the SuperCCD sensor.. the images looked very natural (imo) mainly due to the CCD elements aligned in a honeycomb grid, instead of a linear grid.. theyve since moved to cmos sensors
@@aaronjai2 yes, i think you are right.. i have the next model up, S1600, which is almost the same, and no SuperCCD.. all the SuperCCD models had a badge on the front of the camera.. the a series had it, and maybe some s but they later stopped producing them
@@jub8891 ...2 yrs l8r... I recently went on a SuperCCD eBinge and am loving the experimental experience with that old novel sensor tech. Tried to stay above 3MP for the most part, but somehow ended up with maybe a dozen or two SuperCCD bodies, including some a-series gems that I still need to get out and use. I found the S100FS a joy to use, albeit with disappointing battery life. The S200EXR lasted WAY longer. And hopefully the S5 Pro I ordered will eventually get arrive...
Hello not sure if you’ll read this comment but I just got the FinePix s1500 and I’m having trouble taking good pictures and it’s just taking everting all in black/dark and not sure what setting I should use. Do you think you can help me out? I have searched all over and I couldn’t find anything. Thanks!
Hello! It sounds like either the exposure is way off (underexposing) or the sensor is dying. Try putting it on an automatic mode and pointing it at a bright light (like a lightbulb) and see what it does. Also, try going to the menu, then Setup. Then go to the wrench page 3 and there will be an option to reset. Do that to make sure it is factory fresh. Then try going to either the red auto mode or SR Auto and see if the camera does what it is supposed to do. Also keep in mind that the S1500 doesn't do amazing in low light, so try popping the flash up and taking a shot with that. We may see fine in lamp light, but the camera is not going to. It really wants sunlight, bright studio lighting, etc.
Good video dude. I have one of these. Purchased it for astrophotography not realizing it DID NOT have a removable lens. That really sucked. I'm glad you made this video because I'm going to try and use it for some simple moon shots and maybe some wide angle, long exposure Milky Way pics. I hope to achieve a few decent shots.
That is not a 'bridge' camera. That term was designed as a put down. The camera is a professional camera that is capable of producing award winning photos if you know photography. It is not a learners camera. Any camera can be a learners camera. The problem with S series under model S2000 is the battery door hasps. The plastic hasps will break off from the body because they were made to small and fragile. I don't know if this was a design ploy or an engineering mistake. If the hasps break, and they break like buttons held on by old thread, one at a time, might as well toss it to the garbage because to fix the broken hasps are close to impossible. I couldn't even tape the door shut because tape will not stick to the camera's plastic. Those SOBs think of everything. And if you take a screw out of the camera to fix it, the camera will self destruct. It is one nice professional camera but perverts designed the hasps on the battery door. Maybe they were fired after the S2000 models or the camera companies decided to cover up the obvious and use inferior parts on the inside of the camera that can't be seen to obsolete the camera. The later models have robust strong hasps on the body. It is not only the Fuji that has these hasps. Many other camera manufactures designed their cameras so the hasps would break so they can sell the consumer another. The camera manufactures are in bed with one another. They are a big mega corporation. They won't change their perverted ways until people stop buying into their perversions of dissing camera consumers.
I found one on facebook marketplace for under 40 bucks I have an older Olympus small digital camera that works sometimes and other times it doesn’t work very well.
Couldnt find a single good video on this and you gave me exactly what i wanted. You need like way more attention me thinks.
ohh god I had one of those back in the day, sent me down a nostalgia trip from when I was still figuring the whole photography thing out
Glad you made this video, crazy to see a vid on this S1500

Hey
Does it have a charger?
i picked up an s1600 for $30 recently too.. amazed its held up so well for 10 years
One of the better reviews.

I believe the S1500 uses the conventional CCD, not the Super CCD

FOR THE EMPEROR
It took so long...
The Emperor Protects.
I attribute this thing's longevity to having glued the Aquilla to it in '09.
