Manuel, despite who is still a mystery to the GTA 5 storyline, shows that even evil has standards. Trevor himself, being a short-fused maniac, is used to committing a litany of criminal activities. But, he has a few lines he would not cross like betraying his friends.

Yeah evil is a psychopath who haves no feelings towards anyone while bad people have standards some can say it's the same thing but it's not there is a huge difference between good and bad and the ugly which is the evil people who had a bad childhood or something like that and doesn't care about humanity anymore and kill for the fun of it

That same salute was actually used in America for the Pledge of Allegiance before World War II. During the war Congress passed a bill to replace the salute by putting your right hand over your heart.
He might be an Ukrainian, and his salute could be a reference to the SS Galizien.

Gotta say, this is one of the most interesting and in depth side missions in the game. The scene with Trevor and the Mexican dude confused me as a kid because I never understood that he was the same guy you pick up earlier. I also never got how him not being afraid of Trevor kinda motivates Trevor. Also, as a Canadian, I’ve always found it hilarious how Trevor takes those stereotypical Canadian insults.
I never realized the Border Patrol guy is probably the voice actor for Dutch Van Der Linde 😂

You'd think Trevor is insane, but then you look at his Stranger and Freaks missions: Nigel and Mrs Thornhill, Josh, Civil Boarder Patrol... they make Trevor look incredibly sane and reasonable
The GTA Online character is another character who’s not scared by Trevor, as shown during some of his contact missions cutscenes
Manuel, the mute, (maybe Chef?), and Maude are all who arent afraid
Except from the robbery mission - some of the mute characters get intimidated (one of them even more than the others, 'cause Trevor was deffinitely thinking about doing him/her)

Appreciate you shouting out the REAL border patrol agents and highlighting the work they do against the drug cartels, human traffickers, and coyotes. It’s probably best those 2 idiots didn’t join up or they’d probably end up hurting innocent people. Really hope we can see Manuel in GTA 6 because that man gives off main character energy.

I love the scene with Manuel, though I think it's a bit more than just Manuel not being scared of Trevor/Trevor being thrown off because he's used to intimidating people to get his way; Trevor very easily could have killed Manuel here, whether the dude was scared of him or not. Except working with the Civil Border Patrol is maybe the one thing in this game Trevor actively regrets doing. He hates Joe and Josef from the very start, and when Manuel doubles down and stands up to Trevor, even a crazy bastard like Trevor can see that Manuel is absolutely right here. I think Trevor might have even turned around and killed Joe and Joseph even IF Manuel had rolled over. Manuel standing tall, however, made it a lot easier for Trevor to say...okay, screw it, Joe and Josef gotta go before they rope me into something even worse.

Michael actually is afraid of Trevor but he remains cool. The Professional even brings up Michael’s nightmares when you switch to him if you chose to kill Trevor. But if you save Michael and Trevor then Michael will never have the nightmares as they buried the hatchet.
Maybe Trevor didn't kill the old guy because he (Trevor) was an immigrant too. For too long he has "suffered" the taunts about his Canadian accent. He has no issues with immigrants as long as they don't try to mess with his business, like Ortega.
In reality Mexicans are less immigrant than US Americans and Canadians tho, not that that has any impact on Trevor, its just Mexicans being called immigrant is funny to me

Lamar's roast happens early in the game and you hear it every time you start a new game or replay Franklin and Lamar. Civil Border Patrol is optional

The salute isn’t racist or messed up. The United States used the Bellamy salute or flag salute for the pledge of allegiance. Neither is the Roman salute, just because someone/something “bad” or “messed up” doesn’t change what it was originally.
Americans cant let go, they dont know how to cleanse, the "Nazi" salute (whatever its name) is tainted and Americans forget its the original salute of this place (or thats what Google tells me)

I’m pretty sure she is at least a little, I think I remember them joking about Trevor killing the entire family in game. Yeah Michael’s kids see Trevor has an uncle and do trust him but they’re definitely a little nervous about him lol

I love the classic Sabre Turbo being in this game. Itd be cool if the next GTA game had classic vehicles like for example the "92 Banshee" and the "86 Cheetah" alongside their modern counterparts.

I think Trevor not harming Manuel is more of a respect thing. Manuel commanded respect and stood his ground, there are other characters (the hillbillies in the Sandy Shores rampage) that weren’t scared of Trevor but he still killed.

I believe in Trevor and Manuel conversation that Trevor felt bad for what he’s done to those people and also I think Trevor saw him as someone like him in a way not the crazy killer side of Trevor but the side of Trevor who would do anything to protect the ones he love and who would stand up to anybody to protect who he had to protect that’s how I see it
Manuel isn't the only character scared of trevor, there are a few other characters who aren't scared of him
Cletus: since cletus is Trevor's neighboror and friend, they both have a love for guns, and also whenever trevor is hunting, cletus isn't afraid to tell trevor off if he shoots the wrong body part of an elk or if he kills a doe, and since trevor doesn't like getting told off, cletus can tell him and he won't be killed
Maude: maude isn't scared of him because her and trevor have somewhat of a mother and son relationship, like when trevor agreed to help maude capture bail jumpers, and she said that trevor is his favorite, also if you send maude a picture of a dead elk during hunting, maude asks trevor that if he's making dinner for her with the dead elk, that means that maude thinks trevor is gonna do something nice for her and cook her a meal
Patricia: she was scared of trevor at first but then she started to like him and grow a close bond with him, also she tells trevor off for sniffing gasoline, and Patricia is also nice to trevor as she tidied his trailer and picks the weeds on his front yard, and when trevor had to return her to Martin madrazo, Patricia comforted trevor and tells him that she will be okay, and trevor says that if Marin yell or hurt Patricia, he will kill him, that's also assuming that Patricia understands that he love sher but doesn't want him to kill martin

Hunag was tricked by Rudy that he was a tape of who was a rat in the triad family. Rudy took his advantage to murder several members of his rival family(forgot their name) who had a relationship with the triads, which pissed Hsin(leader of the triads) off and ordered to kill Rudy, which hunag did.

I perfer to think Trevor doesn't kill Manuel because Manuel used Trevor personality of dislike Joe and Josef, Manuel keep calling Trevor friend of Civil Border Patrol is trying to leads Trevor hatred to Joe and Josef, because deep down inside Trevor is shamed to be a ally with these two, deep down inside Trevor thinks Joe and Josef are two fool.

In my mind it wasn't because it had anything to do with fear or intimidation but because Trevor realized he was helping the same type of people he despises even if he didn't enjoy doing it, the only reason he did help them at all was probably out of boredom and it didn't hit him right away because it wasn't him they were targeting. When Manuel stood up to Trevor it made him realize he was no better than the people he killed during his rampages, a good example would be the army soldiers he encountered by Fort Zancudo. He was just simply passing by and noticed them struggling with a tire and may have even willing to help them had they been nice to him or would of at least left them alone but instead they made fun of him for being Canadian based on his accent resulting in Trevor getting pissed and killing them and the numerous other soldiers. He could have easily killed Manuel (Not that Trevor would have cared) but in his mind he saw a little bit of himself in him and knowing what it feels like to be discriminated against in it's own way made him relate and gave him more than enough justification to kill them. He wasn't really doing it for Manuel because he knew he didn't care if he was going die or not but just to feel better about himself for helping scumbags he already didn't care for to begin with. I am probably making this deeper than it actually is but I liked Trevor (ignoring the Johnny incident) because I always felt like he was getting shit on all the time during the story and it the made deathwish ending way more satisfying because it gave the all characters the chance to finally take a stand.
OFF TOPIC BUT SNIPER ELITE 5 is gonna be KILLER, already preordered it, what’s nice is that it’s now memorial day weekend and I don’t have to work Memorial Day so you can pretty much guess what I’m gonna be doing ALL Weekend(for the most part😁) can’t wait to see u play it Pro
