Fun fact: Charles Alderton made Dr. Pepper in the 1880's and the goal was to create a carbonated drink, that tasted like his pharmacy smelled, WITHOUT putting medicine in the drink. It first premiered outside of Waco, Texas, at the 1904 Louisiana World Fair.
@@heikothedwarfnope, it was the pharmacy. From the Dr Pepper Museum (which is apparently a thing): "He liked the way the drug store smelled, with all of the fruit syrup flavor smells mixing together in the air. He decided to create a drink that tasted like that smell."
@@Imperial_Squid that's interesting, because on page 48 of The Anthropocene Reviewed, John Green (one of the most diet dr pepper drinkers in the world, probably) says "In an interview, Charles Alderton once said that he wanted to create a soda that tasted like the soda fountain in Waco smelled..." Since Dan brought it up, Mr. Pibb was "Peppo" until Dr. Pepper sued them. This episode got me thinking: Does the rando move the Abductor Virgin that teleports you to Volcano Manor to a random location, or does it just replace that Abductor Virgin with a random enemy that can't teleport you? I'm guessing it's the latter, but the former would be way funnier. Just some random enemy somewhere replaced with an Abductor Virgin that teleports you to Volcano Manor would be such a mindfrick. The Macho Man Randy Savage Skyrim mod is good, but the Left4Dead mod that replaces the basic Zombies with him, specifically him from the old Slim Jim commercial is even better. Frenzy ending is my canon ending, A. because it's the one I did first, B. because it's the only one that already has a sequel, a sequel called Dead Cells.
The virgin itself doesn’t keep the teleport property. From what I recall from other randomizer runs I’ve seen, it allows you to die anywhere within the pit and you’ll transport. (So you can either die to the virgin’s replacement, or if it’s a creature without attack you can die from fall damage from the lift)
@@chrayez huh, I could've sworn it had to kill you with its grab attack for that to trigger (or maybe that's the case unmodded, but changed for the rando), but I guess if dying to any enemy in that spot is sufficient, that would make sense.
Watching this series is what made me finally decide to give Elden Ring a try. So far I'm only a few hours in and mostly just exploring but I'm having fun and slowly getting better at stabbing the enemy in the back instead of visa versa.
Spoilers for the boss in the Manor: Royal Fire Giant rules! This was such a cool setpiece fight^^ Towering just a bit higher than the walls around him, red hair and fire contrasted by the muted blue and green of the mannor, rolling around the water in the center and backing into corners to spew flames into the arena. It felt almost cooler than seeing the giant on the mountaintop where there is far less immediatly recognisable "scale" to convey how large and alien the giant truly is.
Anybody else expect confetti and party horns when they hit 100 deaths? Tiny bit of a missed opportunity, though I know they wouldn't have known that while recording.
I guess it's time I chime in to say, "It's me, I am the one who likes honeydew." I invited them to the fruit salad, and the fruit cup, and the fruit platter.
