thank you for the great review, I bought it and its beautiful watch, looks great, shame the high ilumination of casio neobrite lume just last a couple minutes and overall a couple hours. I would like that it lasted longer. but the light althought its super short at 3sec enough to see the current hour.
It's tough but if you're a landscaper and bang your watch a lot I would go with a g-shock since they have a raised bezel that can take some of the damage before the glass. Check out some of my g-shocks reviews.
If your looking for something different for that watch try some canvas quick chg straps from Barton. You wouldn't believe how much more comfortable it is to wear. I'd suggest a grey one to go with the face of the watch IMO. I tried green and black but I liked the way the grey looked on it more.
whats the one at 8:55 with big numbers (the black one) ? you said its GBX-100 NS-1 but when i looked it up its the one with small digits. Can you verify please/
Probably when you look it up it's in a mode that shows other info like tide with small time digits..the main timekeeping mode is big digits.here's my video of it.ruclips.net/video/bPswhrBHA-s/видео.html
I recently picked up a titnium PRw-60. Not using the band at the moment till I get extra links for but damn its so much smaller then my my PRW-6600, I love my 6600 but I think Casio hit a home run with the new 30/50/60 lines. Finally a Casio "tough" watch that doesn't feel like a tank or a big disk on your wrist. I was thinking of getting one of the new 61s but I'm leary of anything made from bio plastic. I want something tat will last years and I worry about the longevity of this new plastic resin they are using. I don't see something as expensive as a Protrek as a disposable watch.
@@endgame6072 well I rotate my watches a lot and I actually don't wear them in rough environments..I have a cheap $20 Casio 10yr battery watch for stuff like that so I really can't comment on durability but they do make glass screen protectors for them on Amazon if your worried about scratches because the bezel sits a tad higher than the glass.
Any ambient light source charges the lume to make it green but the light button lights up the digital area and makes the hour numbers, markers, and hands blue if that answers your question.
Hi! Just bought one today. Thanks for the review mate. Tell me something... When I press the light button all the numbers become blue except the 6, is this normal?
Just ordered this, how is it holding up 1asian1phone? My main reason for getting this over the 3500 was that I like to visualize my time, instead of just reading numbers on a screen. Any regrets on this one? In my mind it looks like the best of its kind.
You can fnid it other places for a discount but with supply chain resources being what they are ? I got mine on amazon Canada for 360 Canadian and I think the retail is 380 US so if you can find it under that US price go for it. I'd put it on a watch list and wait to look for deals. FYI if you go to Sakura watches and search PRW-6600 you can find other versions of this watch to. If you manage to pick one up I recommend getting a gorilla glass screen protector from amazon for 10 bucks. I don't remember the exact size *easy enough to measure) but I swear once you put it on you'll never know it's there and have complete peace of mind about that mineral glass crystal.
@groovest some are, but that wasn't the point, the point is, a quartz movement costs less to manufacture or buy... And then there's the cheap crystal, and yeah...
@smylemusic Really? Its a solar quartz atomic watch so anything sort of an emp it will outlast and be more accurate than ANY mechanical movement. I've got one solar watch going on 20 years that I had to replace the battery in once after 15 years for 30 bucks. Another 80 to redo the seals cause why not after 15 years to keep that WR good? How many hundreds or thousands are you going to be paying to keep your auto serviced in accurate in that time period? You get allot out of these watches for the price so don't let the price detter you. Also I bought 2 pieces of gorilla glass on amazon cut for the size of this watch for 10 bucks. You can't been tell its there so you don't have to worry about scratches or with sapphire the shattering problems you might run into with a piece of saphire that big. The crystal is about 38m I think. Not the case. Just the crystal. So autos are great but don't dare say they are more reliable except for one use case that if it ever happens most of us are probably toast anyways.
@@toadamine Some quartz mbmts are cheap. This mvmt is a quartz solar, with ABC (altitude, barameter, temp and compass) with radio atomic time keeping so its not cheap. Heck in a survival situation Id want this watch for the barameter alone cause changes in air pressure are great ways to see when bad weathers coming and when its about to end.

One of the most beautiful watches I've ever seen. Gotta have one.
Great video. So much easier to navigate than most Casios. The backlight is sick. I love solar powered as well.

I'm between this on and the Casio Pro Trek PRW61-1A

Its nice that the PRW has atomic time adjustment. I really dislike my time being off.
If we're just relying on the LED light button in the middle of the strap, with no lume charge, does that light up the hour markers or just the hands?

There is a light button below the 6 o'clock digit that illuminates the entire face
Does it have the neon back light for the digital part?
Yes light button below 6
probably the same module as the gwg-1000 for half the price

Can you display 2 different time zones simultaneously? (Analog + Digital)
