Thanks for the video.
I have had some experience with escrima, so I understand about trapping with the butt of a stick. However, I never thought about it in the context of the bata. I can see how, with it's being longer than an escrima stick, you wouldn't want to trap with it.
Great content.
Thanks again.
Great video!!
good video!!!
Stick is kinda shield and weapon.... peaceful weapon... perfect for selfdefance... least bleeding.....
Text comes off horrible, so I hope this comes off of as intended: open curiosity. I have been looking for historical context for the moves/guards/use of the irish stick. Where are hou getting your source material?
I teach a living lineage from the Ramsey family of county Antrim. Otherwise, I also do quite a lot of research on the history of the art. You can find a lot of what I found in this article. hemamisfits.com/2015/02/03/what-is-irish-stick-fighting/
@@maximechouinard8902 I am just starting to look into this subject. That was an extremely informative article! Did the book you mentioned writing ever happen? I have a small personal library, and one of my favorite sections is that of historical martial arts manuals and records...
@@baileystutzman6096 thank you! Not yet, but it's coming! I will announce it on this channel when it comes out.
I'm sorry; the audio is so bad I can't understand what is being said.
