I think the only clip of family guy that has gotten me to break down in laughter is the one where an airplane pilot can only yell at the top of his lungs as he's telling the passengers that they're passing by the rocky mountains and they all panic.

The bit with the chicken in the hospital would have been funnier if they explained the joke like they did, and then the chicken wife came in with a new chicken man that was noticably shorter than the one in the hospital bed. (Therefore inferring that it was the other meaning of the word after all)

Racist/Sexist jokes made by people who are in a position of power, even an imagined position, aren't funny because they're usually punching down, and the key to comedy that makes fun of other people is punching up. It's why people making race jokes about themselves is fine because most of that shit they decide to joke about is the shit they do, so it's the true stuff. But then you make a joke about an old man who is a p/edo/phile being able to easily save a teenage boy from a fire, but then he runs past everyone and straight into his own face while everyone watches on in horror, fully aware of what's happening... absolutely, horrible, rancid humor... but who the fuck is supposed to be offended by that? Someone who would be offended you said the lord's name in vain is who. That shit's terrible, but it's also SO fucking funny, as long as the timing is appropriate. And then there's the domestic violence jokes or the "breeding bull" which is on screen for too long and feels too real without enough actual comedy. The "shock humor" isn't there. It's just uncomfortable.
