Whats your favorite song or year. I think 1994 is awesome😊
Collective Soul Shine.
No 30 Summer Of '69
2016 queen Sia dominated 😍
1977 The Eagles!
I only got to JonnyvB Good before the subtle background music caused me to stop watching.
Funny how my music-knowlege change from " yes , i defently heard about it", over " who doesnt know these songs?" To " what the f is this song?" During the decades
Yeah somewhere between 66 and 70 there were a few I was like wtf is this lol
Haha you must be younger than me. The old ones I got all made it through the early 80s pretty good. Didn’t pick back up until the era where my children started listening to music so was familiar as I always let them control the “radio” in the car.
Yep absolutely- quality of music certainly plummets after the 90’s that’s for sure and I don’t know if anyone else thinks that post 90’s music all sounds the same I can’t distinguish between the songs … I guess originality really is a thing of the past these days 🤷♀🤨
Born 93 went from who doesn't know these songs to maybe heard them to wtf is this song
Ha yes! It's like how from 50-65 I got a few and knew a few, just not the names or artists. Then 66-99 I was completely locked in, got them all right and could give the album too for most of them. Then 2000 onwards it was back to knowing some of them and "yeah I've heard this, but I don't know the names" lol.
Love the video!
Let's collect which artists should have been mentioned. I'll start:
Amy Winehouse
Sting
Little Richard
Dolly Parton
Pink Floyd
Why can't I like twice@@MrSuperMichel1997
def leopard, ccr, hendrix, zepplin, satchmo, linkin park, marilyn manson, prince, willie nelson, blink 182, eminem, tupac, oh my maybe a part 2?
bro why my grandpa dead yestoday
Sang to quite a few from 55 till 62 ... Sang to everything from 63 till now 😅 my grandfather would be proud😊
I got 49/70. My worst decades were def the 60s (idk anything but the Beatles and Stand By Me) and 80s (prob my least favorite decade). 90s and 2000s were great cuz they’re my favorites 🫶
Very cool🎉
I missed 3
I seen one huge mistake in this video johnny b good was first preformed by Marty Mcfly in 1955 not Chuck Berry in 1958
Ok, that's good, I like this comment 😆
Justice for our boy Marty McFly!
And chucks cousin Marvin gave him the idea for the song
This is my favorite comment ever.
Are you serious?!
My problem is I know the lyrics and beats but no clue on most of the names. I grew up with all these cause my dad is a DJ. Just never bothered to know the names lol.
Lol for
Lmao
I probably got like 20 of the titles... 10 of the artists....
And knew 60 songs
Relatable
Four songs from one group in less than 10 years is ridiculous... Except for this group, in that decade...
I knew dancing queen and heart of glass
Beatles of course
Beatles are still the GOAT
So you're complaining but not complaining? 😅
@@wendylagree3581 Yes, it would be a complaint except for this one case. I also use "ridiculous" as exceptional rather than incorrect.
I dont listen to K-POP, but 2012's Gangnum Style, you can't deny, was a global sensation that changed a huge economy.
Gangnam style brought everyone together and opened the door for other groups to break out in the USA 🥰
It introduced me to 2NE1, Big Bang, TVXQ and a few others
I believe it was the first song on RUclips to recieve 1 billion views
In Mexico is tangamanga. Search for it 😂
You did the 2000s dirty lmao. Could've used used Linkin Park at least once
System of a down woulda been cool too.
Well as you know, in the end, it doesn't even matter.
I'm suprized they didn't include One Direction in the 2010s they were pretty big back then.
And not one greenday
@boomhauertalkshow3610 I. Agree with all of these but especially green day
Except for a couple I was doing great until 2001 and then it went downhill 😂
I was exactly the same!
Agreed. They all sound the same
Thank god, wasn't just me.
i was perfect 100% for song and artist until 1999 then i was a perfect zero
@@philiprice7875 I feel you in many ways but how did you not get Hips don't lie or Waka Waka?
Up until 1990, easy. 1990 to 2000 I struggle. After 2000 forget it, not a clue
I was batting perfect until 1987 (music my mother played for me, after which she was busy with me), missed a few, and then knew all the late 90's/00's from when I was in middle and high school. I knew some of the ones in the late 10's as I heard them working catering at weddings. But that stopped in 2020 (for obvious reasons), after which I don't just not know the names of the songs... I haven't even heard them before.
Gotta say though, nothing has made me feel more old recently, than seeing a playlist of songs from 1955 to today, that hits the 90's and is *only halfway through* the set.
Woah that's a lot of beatles songs
They ran the 60's
That's nothing. They've got so many more hits, it's unreal.
A lot of people today don't understand just how MASSIVE they were in the 60s. Beatlemania was real.
you may say im a dreamer
@@ctriptych That's a John Lennon song. Not the Beatles.
Knew every single song. My dad taught me the love of music.🕊️
Awesome parents👍
Not including Foo Fighters and Linkin Park is criminal imo

Yooooo, same 😅
Just couldn't pass up an opportunity to let everyone know you're autistic, could you? 😂
I was born in 2003 and I had almost all songs up to 1990, got a few between 1990 and 2000, then absolutely no hope until 2012, then it was patchy as heck. The closer to 2024 they got the less I actually knew any of the songs. I'd recognize some, or be able to identify the artists without the photos, but the name of the song? No hope
This video is like a musical journey through the years! 💕 It's fascinating to see how the songs and trends have evolved from year to year. Some of these songs bring back so many memories, while others make me discover new artists and genres that I might have overlooked before. Thank you for this nostalgic and entertaining journey! 🎶✨
I knew all of them (except for two), not too bad for a Gen Z lmfao
Lol i recognized the songs but didnt know the names 😭
@@CatsRVeryCool same😂
1991 with 2023 being my least favorite with no fucking contest.
do not cook again
For everyone who skipped it when that Christmas song came on 11:52
54/70, i didn't know most of them til the early 80s, then didn't know more til the 2000s
Know almost all, but not those last 5 years. Stupid music today, the 80s was better
I knew all until 2000s pop and rap 😂which is quite weird for a 16 yr old but well (and some pop songs during 90s)
Dont worry im 21 knew more from the 80s and 90s than the 2000s
It's simply amazing how songs we haven't heard for decades come immediately back to mind. Fun fact: Hotel California, etc., is by the band Eagles, as shown on that t-shirt. Everyone, forever, including me, has called them The Eagles. They've said in interviews that they hate it but know that it'll never change.
I always say the as in The Beatles, The Who, The Scorpions, etc. if it is a band name of 1 Word.
@@chrisstinamalmquist9606 Same! Any other way just sounds weird.
The Rolling Stones anyone?
Where was Pink Floyd??
So, we're just going to not mention Big Mama Thornton? Is that it? 0:32
The fact songs which were made before i was born are better in this compilation…
thank god there is someone who knows when did actually BILLIE JEAN came out
Why show the artist if we're supposed to guess who the artist is???
Guess the song, not the artist
@theempireofkjorefelt3896 it says artist and song if you know how to read.
@@DangerD20 "Guess the song🎶one song per year 1955-2024 everyone knows |music quiz" not once is there artist in that title or even the thumbnail don't tell my I can't read when you can read a few words idiot
9:46 WAS THAT THE SONG OF '87
It’s sweet child of mine by Guns ‘N Roses
@@lylaslessons392It was a reference to a video game, they weren’t asking what the song was.
Love that we saw Beatlemania - they were crazy popular in the 60s & 70s!!!❤
Mostly 60's they broke up in 1970 then of course 1971 is John Lennon
I superbly enjoyed this until that **** Christmas song lol
All I Want For Christmas Is You is a 10/10 song and I will die on that hill
@@bertramwinkleofficial abso-fking-lutely, it is.
You mean the greatest Christmas song of all fking time?!?!?
@@winstonsmith11 no that one wasnt in here
OH MOTHER SIA 👑🥳Chandelier could also be for 2014 but IG shake it off was bigger for radio
There was also lady gaga, I'd say there was a lot of good songs made by the queens around that time because Shakira and Rihanna were big then as well
I did a challenge with my family, frankly my dad( who was born in 1966) did great, he got 18 points
A quiz like this really makes you appreciate how music post 2010ish has just devolved into pure shit
Yeah there was a big shift that kinda just gives you whiplash listening to this all at once.
well they named it so well RAP= rhymes with *RAP
Thanks scorpions
Great video. That was fun!
Why is there no Led Zeppelin because they are by far the best rock band
Fr
Hell naw. After beatles and queen maybe
maybe because they was an LP band and seldom issued singles
@@yp8152Queen is my favorite. Led Zeppelin is definitely in my top 10.
@yp8152 in what world were the Beatles a rock band lmao
Why did I go from, oh yeah, I definitely know these. These are some of my favorites! To, what is this!?! To who doesn’t know these? 😅
I knew most of the songs, but not always the artists. The artists that I listened to in the 80's and 90's and 2010+ are: Beastie Boys, Keith Sweat, Salt-n-Pepa, Jodeci, Heavy D, Snoop Dog, Tupac, Janet Jackson, SWV, Luther Vandross, Lionel Richie, Diana Ross, Kelly Clarkson, Meghan Trainor, Billie Eilish
i was only going for the titles
and i also skipped to 1996 cause i knew i wouldnt recognise most of the songs from before then cause im more into modern music (some older ones slip in tho)
I got 9 wrong 😑 because my dad was in a band I knew the first 30 songs, but more after 2019 I had a hard time cause I don’t listen to the radio anymore only Spotify lol but have I’m 41 years old and got most of them I think that’s good 😂
I second that - except that my father was not part of a band.
What I liked about this was quiz was that I got every single one between 1966-2000 (could give the album for most of them too). Then either side of those dates was just either "yeah I've heard this, haven't got a clue what it's called or who sings it though." or "OMG I KNOW THIS ONE!" 😂
Hound Dog was actually written by BIG MOMMA THORTON befrore Elvis stole the song and claimed it as his work.
Mariah carey took that melody from em
49/70. I knew most of the 60's, all the 70's and 80's and most of the 90's after that I had NO clue apart from "Shape of you" which I love! ❤
I actually did not know I’m A Believer by Smash Mouth was a cover. 2000 really should be In The End by Linkin Park. The fuck is that song from 01? 2003 should be Bring Me To Life by Evanescence. 2004 should be American Idiot or Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day.
i didnt attempt to name them all was just in for the fun of recognising them and knew them all bar one in the 80’s
The only song I couldn't guess by the sample was Waka Waka. And there were a good number of artists' names I didn't know, particularly in the first chunk of the video. But I bet I'd've gotten Waka Waka if the sample was from a different part of the song! 😋
where is Dua Lipa?
I stuck with all the rock in the 70s and 80s, it’s when the Christmas song that only started charting number one 4 years ago was considered a top song of 1994 when you lost me.
Apparently disco, r&b and hip hop don’t exist to this guy.
My god some of these clips are HORRENDOUS. The number of these songs I could've gotten off the lyrics instead of just a crappy section of acoustics 🙄
no rap before 2002...
Got them all by either artist or title beside 2 from the 60s but im a '91 baby so i feel good about it. Wish i woukd have played with my family
My friends and I got 41 correct!! Great Video!!
WHERE IS NOT LIKE US!!!!!!!!!! 2024 SHOULD BE NOT LIKE US!!!! 1 BILLION VIEWS!!!!!
Anyone else notice how the quality of songs drops significantly from 2009 onwards?
Surprised black Sabbath isn't on here, same with Not Like Us by Kendrick
What this made me realize is I know a long range of songs but not necessarily who they were sung by
I know 98%, like 90%, know the names of 10% tops kkkk i consider this a win nonetheless.
16:48 I miss this part of my life..2010 world cup in mzansi❤❤
only 4 throughout this century, too US and way toooo soft/commercial stuff
I only got 8 wrong! I'm so surprised, not bad for a 39 year old 😅
My 13?yr old sone got 65/70, I gotta get him on the telly!
Theres so many I know and remembered my parents listening to but I have no idea the name
Beyoncé famous naw she’s just someone people hate
I can only guess the old ones. Taylor swift is trash
I have some of these songs on my RUclips music playlist
Got every one from like 74-94 lol. I was born in 96.
Most of them coz all I do is listen to music from the 60s onward
Music really took a nose diveal around the 90s and 2000s and onward till today.
Everything after 2000 is shit.
They chose shit songs for this video lmao so many better 2000s songs
is it wrong that i was born in 2008 and know all of these songs 😄
I'm only 13 and I know A LOT
Same 😂
My dad was a Top 40 radio DJ throughout the 70s and 80s, and then an oldies DJ in the 90s and 00s, (so he could keep playing the same stuff) so when I showed him this, he just looked at me and said “These are REALLY easy.”
grease
No jimmy hendrix???
Song at Number 66. Those are straight-up Michael Jackson moves from the 1980s.
It's almost like that's the point 😮🤯
Uh 5 new them all but 1 but quick memory not my skill
I was doing horrible until it got to 2001. Everything just went up from there
By about 1995 I'm pretty much out except for a few hits everybody has heard. Cheers!
perfect song and artist untill 1999 i knew to switch off then,
I wish you put either dean martin or frank sinatra
Call me an unc but imo it fell off after like 2014
Animals? Simon&Garfunkel? 🥲
I'm 73 and did 100% up to the mid 80's and after that my percentage went progressively downhill. Mainly because it is a stretch of the imagination to classify that stuff as "music".
I love my music but I don’t know all the artists! Could name a lot of them from 1976 upwards tho so not too shabby for a late 1990s baby 😅 was brought up with all kinds of music from mum, dad and grandparents so I guess that helped a lot!
Jessica Simpson destroyed 12 😂
Where is pink floyd
i didnt like this quiz it is not representative
First of all, I would like to say that this list, as long as it is, it’s freaking ridiculous because not one time did they mention the queen of pop Madonna as legendary and iconic as she has been throughout all of these years from 84 to at least 2016
They could’ve done betterI
I got 49 😅 and i was born in 2010 😂😂
Blinding lights came in 2020 not in 2019
I was doing well till I got to 2005😂😂😂
