Finally someone addresses the socks! I’ve been waiting for that. 😂 Yes, walking around in a cellar and also outside a couple of times will do that to your socks. Well spotted!❤
Thank you Freya..You are now truly through the doorway and have been properly introduced to the bard. ❤ I feel both this and Hi Ren are essential, as they will no doubt be considered must-hear classics in the future...but then again, so are the next dozen or so in the lineup. Ha!! You will be getting a wide range of recommendations and usually, suggestions will include the live tracks "Chalk Outlines" and "How To Be Me," with Chinchilla!! I heartily encourage you to check out both...as you will be impressed with the vocals...but they do continue with serious themes. For a lighter/happier view of the many other sides of Ren...don't miss the live retake "Back On 74/Message In a Bottle" or maybe his earlier cover tracks with his former band The Big Push..."Bongo Bong" and/or "An Englishman In New York".....OR any of his live "busking" vids with the Big Push, Sam Tompkins, or Chinchilla....these all tap into the joy that Ren consistently shares.... ✌
The only post production that Ren used in this and Hi Ren was some volume automation on his vocals to allow for the volume variance if he was facing the the lapel mic or away from it, to even out the volume.. This is a story of multigenerational domestic violence, its like a Shakespearian tragedy. have a listen to 'Back on 74/Message in a bottle' to hear Ren's singing voice
Love your reaction and composure for a tough story. I do appreciate your ability to cut through the weeds and acknowledge the genius of composition and talent. Kudos. Excellent reaction! If you would like to see Ren’s wonderful vocal range I would suggest “Back on 74 / Message in a Bottle” - also a really fun performance.
Really enjoy watching you as you are finding Ren. Ren is an amazing artist who has been dealt a miserable hand. He can perform almost any genre and he’s super intelligent and caring. Can’t wait to watch more with you. Subscribing in hopes for more Ren. :)
❤❤❤BARDCORE❤❤❤ Such important social commentary on generational violence, and the way we keep failing vulnerable people in our society, as well as the children caught in the middle or left behind. Man, I wish I could remember who it was, but another reactor (maybe also a vocal coach?) called Ren's singing "perfectly imperfect". I think the somewhat uncontrolled wailing at the beginning of Screech's Tale maybe symbolizes instability? My favorite "happy" Ren song (still has some darkness in it but he's really been through the wringer) is Power. It's a produced song but not heavily so, and still has a very simple video that he's clearly enjoying himself making.
Yes. In addition to all the rest, I too couldn't help noticing those socks - on the bed! Probably more to do with my working in hospitals, and of course, this is not a hospital but a 'set'. And you're right, as we see at the end, Ren is in and out of the building/s and out into the streets, doing however many Live Takes, until he / they get the one they are happiest with. Thank you for the follow-up. I'd suggest a Big Push (Ren's old band) next. Wade in the water/A man's world. To see some vocal dexterity, on the streets of Brighton. 🎉
Enjoyed your reactions to this and “Hi Ren”. May I suggest “Back on 74/Message in a Bottle” to be next for a joyful Ren song, welcome to the Ren rabbit hole. Thank you!
Jup. Die Tale von Jenny und Screetch ist wirklich harter Tobak. Ich sag jetzt mal hier willkommen im Ren-Rabbithole. :) Muss mir die Reaction zu Hi Ren noch anschauen.
Ren has incredible vocals, capable of multiple voices, styles and tones and full of beautiful, subtle, vocal nuances. Keep down the rabit hole. You won't be disappointed. You WILL be surprised... constantly! :)
Ahiahiahohah (Ft. BIBI) from Demos 1 and It's Alright from the Freckled Angels album. (Do the Official Music video) I personally love his older stuff. His music/art is well rounded and does use auto tune and post production on some stuff which is brilliant when/how he does it. He doesn't use it to perfect his voice but uses it as a distortion tool. He is constantly surprising me and I have seen almost all of his stuff out there. (many many times) I've never been so enthralled by an artist in my life.
Great reaction I recommend the deep songs of ren and they're all masterpieces and very different 1- how to be me(live version) 2- chalk outline (live version) Those 2 are just him and chinchilla singing very deep lyrics and since you are a vocalist These 2 will be great for you to react to 3- suicide 4- for joe 5- dominoes 6- depression 7- 7 sins 8- money game part 1,2,3 9- fred again mashup 10- sick boi ( talks about his health journey) These are all very unique and masterpieces and very different from anything you've ever heard Welcome to reniverse
The best real and rapper with emotions and most versatile and absolutely best storyteller is “NF” “How could you leave us” is amazing emotional gives back story to his life. “NF” is a must.
Oldie Renegade here.. new sub so I can enjoy being along for your ‘Rabbit Hole’ adventure! You’ll be amazed at ALL of his ‘genre-bending’ performances!!
Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece. Yes all done live. I appreciate you going down the Ren Rabbit hole. Not sure Ren would like to be compared to Elon Musk though.
Lol, yeah I get the specific comparison she's making, but there's a rather big, um, intelligence gap between the two people. And empathy gap, and kindness gap, and greediness gap...
@@bethray469 100% agree - Elon Musk is talking about giving £100 million to Reform UK. Really! It could be argued he also tried to undermine the new Labour Government here in the UK by fanning the flames of the short lived Riots in the summer.
Love your channel. You said "I don't want to stop" at your first look at the Screech video. I kind of want you to stop even more and talk about things you notice, then just rewind 5 seconds or so to not miss anything. A lot of the time it's difficult to remember all the thoughts for the end, so as someone who watches a lot of these reactions, I don't mind stopping at all. We've all heard the song, we're here to hear you talk about it! But fantastic reactions.
I am glad, this time you reacted alone, or at least ignored other people in the room. Danke Schön Happy side of Ren? Definitely "Back to 74" is must, but I would suggest a rapping wonder, while I avoid to listen to rap, "Loosing It". He really had fun with it, and we all the listeners London? Everybody said London I say, surely not. Why would he go to London from his city? At home, its cheaper and easier to arrange people who will tolerate the "Eine Kleine Nacht Music". What's Deine Deinung?
You want happy? May I recommend his _Love Music_ quadrilogy? I watched your _Hi Ren_ reaction, don't know how I missed subbing for you then, but I fixed that and subbed on this one. I enjoy your reactions and your technical knowledge, although you don't push it too far like some do, and spend as much time enjoying his music as you do analyzing it. Ren is a Force of Nature, and as a 64-year-old, 70s stoner hippie who grew up with some of the greatest music ever made, I have to say that I have completely come to believe that this young man is the greatest artist - as well as one of the greatest humans - of my time. Any RENegade will tell you that there is the you before experiencing Ren, and then there's the _better_ you afterward. Happiness and health to you my new RENegade sister 😊
Pleaae... Please... come back back for his singing side! Hes Sooooo Unique... in my 40 years in music... hes Easily the most impressive artist of my life! Right next to Dimash... for different reasons! Its no wonder neither one of them will sign with a label because they Know... theyll be Told what to do, play, sing... and what NOT to do! Yeah... impressive!!!!
@thefreyacaseymusic Right! I mean, you can see how they've almost ruined music today! From pushing crap music/singers/personalities/lyrics! From social to political BS! Thats why Ren has such a Massive fanbase! We Want Real, Raw, not the same ole BS! Tanx for the reply... I hope ya have a Fantabulous day! 😊
He does do a few happier songs but the majority of his stuff definitely leans more towards pain and the dark reality in life, the thing he seems to always do though is bring an element of hope to everything (much like the end of "Hi Ren") so as dark as he can get he always gives you hope and beauty before the end of the song usually. As a vocal coach like everyone else suggested already you should definitely check out "Back on 74/message in a bottle" which is another live song, also " Fred again mashup", and then whether you have time to react to them or not you need to see some of his live performance songs with Chinchilla, she's very much like him and has an amazing voice but is free spirited and will sing in unorthodox ways that would surprise you I'd imagine. Also check out Chinchilla's LIVE version of her song "Fingers" it's absolutely amazing!!
He dosnt have much id call straight up happy.. Maybe the love music series.. About 20% of his songs are 'not particularly dark or sad' lol - and the rest are.. but he does quite often even in those have a positive message. He has been ill and in pain for most of his life so yeah most of his songs are about that - less so so of his rap stuff. But you have to think he is doing so in a way that is very cathartic and affirming for a alot of people - and overall, Ren's message is one of hope and holding on in the face of adversity.
Lovely reaction. You see a lot of that "I'll just do what I want" in his guerilla style of shooting. He prefers to ask forgiveness than get permission ahead of time. In "Hi Ren" they had to negotiate with the owner when he found them using his room, and in Jenny/Screech/Violet there's a story of someone almost ruining a take by yelling out the window at him to shut up.
Also, I empathize with your parental feelings when you talked about your twins. My girls are not twins, but very young (6 and 2), so whenever Ren involves kids in his stories, it hits me harder. I would recommend his recent song "Money Ties", which has a section where he gives advice to his young sister to try to prepare her for the harshness of the world. That part always plucks my parental heart strings, and I think you would appreciate it.
I think what makes him so unique is that he actually speaks out the depths of his stories whereas in a lot of mainstream music, we always stay on the surface. No blanket statements that essentially mean nothing because they've been used to death. His lyrics are so colorful, as are his voice and facial expressions.
A long with the other more upbeat songs that have been recomended, I personally love 'Bongo Bong' with Ren and one of his old bands, 'The Big Push'. It's never fails to bring a smile to my face, and lift my mood. It's a Manu Chao cover, and although the original is great, their version is simply brilliant.
As I'm a know it all, I have to correct you, he says it's London but its filmed in Brighton, the violet part is in The Lanes, one of our many interesting places in our fabulous city . There's so much more to Ren, there's the busking videos and his band the big push , his rap songs are top notch but if you want more upbeat I'd try bongo bong or humble. I've subbed for more🇬🇧💙
@thefreyacaseymusic I was saying he was in this... its overall... he doesnt care! Won't fix errors like that! Perfectly imperfectly Perfect imo! Like with you... it's Sooo refreshing to see such an artist today!
You should look up the big push rens band busking on the streets of Brighton the whole group are so talented and i can promise you you will hear some amazing Vocals 😎👍
deutscher renegade hier, er hat wirklich ein unglaubliches spektrum und eine unglaubliche range: - so richtung gute laune: vieles wo er mit the big push singt, oder generell er eher busking, message in a bottle, fred again
On your channel I've seen some of my favorites. Dimash, Morissette, Gigi, Lara, and Ren. I'd like to see some more of Angelina (go back to when she was 9 yrs old with i put a spell on you) and Gigi. One that i feel is missing is Morgan James. A Julliard trained opera singer that sings r&b and blues. Most notable are her collabs with Postmodern Jukebox. Maybe start with Maps, then Who Wants To Live Forever, Take Me To Church, and Dream On. Beyond that, I'm sure you'll see plenty of suggested songs.
6:54 - that cry of "WHEEEERE did he go" is intentionally over-yelled, it's a sincere cry/wailing , he's 14, he's in trouble, this is bad, it's a loud situation, ready to get louder and even worse Similar to, once it's over, around 9:40 "riiiight at the staaahht" is also kind of a sobbing tone, but it's over, it's not as extreme, same notes tho, too. Same with "the boooy the he claimed" same notes. You'll hear them if you listen again later. 12:40 - what partially blows my mind here is how we start seated here in the "hospital" doing this setup-guitar and compared to where it ends out in the street, just amazing, this performance and the movement and timing required. lolwtf
Ren is a modern day bard painting such vivid imagery with his storytelling that it pulls you in and forces you to keep watching - even when it gets physically uncomfortable during Violet’s Tale. And Ren uses this ability to shed light on far too real issues in the world. Ren is special. And you are of course right. No changes have been made to the vocals. Just some sound engineering. Ren learned by doing as he would spend hours upon hours cleaning up and adjusting volumes on recordings from busking sessions with the band The Big Push (where drums would just be recorded on a phone 😅). Ren is a perfectionist but embraces real and raw emotions. Perfect imperfections ❤
They turned the bike room/mud room, into a hospital room without permission of course! His motto is asking for forgiveness instead of permission! Lol The bed he bought online was a childs bed! You can notice the leg Floating in air from being stacked up underneath! Lol Can ya imagine living in the alleyways and being woken up by his yelling!? Such a Rebel! Lol Hes admitted hes pretty meticulous when it comes to mixing his music! Spending way too much time on it! Using cellphone footage and basic mics he still manages to tweak the production expertly!
Excellent reaction! Subbed for more Ren ❤ Fun Ren for me is Sweet Little Lady, Nas Halftime retake, Why My Woman. If you want to know Ren the artist check out his Thank you to One Million RUclips subscribers and his definition of success 🙌
Love music 1,2 &3, the hunger (he's basically showing off and is triumphant), losing it (rap odyssey). He's been in dark places so produces some stuff that will stir your soul, but i believe the Trilogy is him at his darkest. Chalk outlines with Chinchilla is super emotional but a must watch (live version), How to be me will do similar but is also a must listen. Money game trilogy is also ridiculous and is him at his most political. I'm reading these comments and will have to revisit Back on '74 as it went over my head but the love here in the comments means i need to relisten. Enjoy 😊
This is more of a performance piece..a Shakespeare tragedy if you will. Live and one shot. When you hear the dissonance, sharp or flat cord or note, it is usually intended to create a feeling in you. Love your insights and welcome! I would also encourage you to check out the band he was in called The Big Push for more variety of his vocals.
Bardcore at its finest. He really is telling the story like the mintrels of old. Ren is Welsh and his parents would take him to the folk music festivals of the are. The hospital room is the bike shed of a friend's apartment building, and the electronics are taped to his body under the gown. Fred Again Mashup for pure vocals and guitar. Enjoy.
To know what kind of guy Ren is watch 1 million subscribers on ren makes stuff on his channel. And if you want to know about himself watch chapter’s 1-8 pretty much how he got here and why he is who he is.❤❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Don't know if you got the info already, but they set this up to look like an hospital. It's actually one of his friends apartment building. The bed if you take a closer look is actually a childrens bed way too small for Ren (Who is a preatty tall guy). They decorated the place a bit and the IV bag is actually a discarded one they filled up with seringes.
Ren occasionally uses auto-tune as an effect, but what we get is just his voice mostly. He also cleans up background noise, which is evident, when he purposely lets the seagulls’ noise in during Violet’s tale. Ren is an addiction once you start, he has everything and he’s so genuine. If you love surprises he’s the one, his collabs are great, and his band The Big Push is high energy and fun. Really enjoyed your reaction, I’ll sub for more. If you want some background to help you understand some of his music, watch his 8 chapters on RenMakesStuff channel, it’s his life story ❤
Fred Again mash up and Back on 74 are resent vocal tracks but Blind Eyed the MC Sessions and all of his busking sessions with the Big Push are great vocal songs that can be broken down. Check them out!
Upbeat Ren? Bittersweet Symphony (The Verve) and The Big Push busking collaboration videos. I love his rap songs The Hunger and Losing You will kick yourself if you miss his live collaborations with Chinchilla, Chalk Outlines (Live) and How To Be Me (Live) they are darker, but magic.
Back On ‘74/ Message In A Bottle……awesomevocals, setting and happy happy happy

@@helenjarvis7755 that's one of my favorite mash-ups. 😁
Power is another upbeat one. Uninvited is a bit naughty and fun. Some from his busking band the Big Push.
Agree
@mainegator65. Yeah. Those are covers. Ren doesn’t really, write, “happy” songs. If he put one out, I’d question it? “Did he really write that?” Lol.
There are many upbeat happy Ren songs but even at his most playful this young man leaves us a message 🤯🎵🎶🔥🍯🤌🙏💪🐝🍀🇬🇧🦄🦄

Enjoyed your reactions to this and “Hi Ren”. May I suggest “Back on 74/Message in a Bottle” to be next for a joyful Ren song, welcome to the Ren rabbit hole. Thank you!
You are going to LOVE everything Ren does... It doesn't really get more genuine or real 🩶🥰
Jup. Die Tale von Jenny und Screetch ist wirklich harter Tobak. Ich sag jetzt mal hier willkommen im Ren-Rabbithole. :) Muss mir die Reaction zu Hi Ren noch anschauen.
Ren has incredible vocals, capable of multiple voices, styles and tones and full of beautiful, subtle, vocal nuances. Keep down the rabit hole. You won't be disappointed. You WILL be surprised... constantly! :)
You are soooo pretty. I love when people embrace the gray. Gorgeous, and smart.
Ahiahiahohah (Ft. BIBI) from Demos 1 and
It's Alright from the Freckled Angels album. (Do the Official Music video)
I personally love his older stuff. His music/art is well rounded and does use auto tune and post production on some stuff which is brilliant when/how he does it. He doesn't use it to perfect his voice but uses it as a distortion tool.
He is constantly surprising me and I have seen almost all of his stuff out there. (many many times)
I've never been so enthralled by an artist in my life.
It's not London it was filmed in 'the lanes' in Brighton, good review 👍
Thanks for mentioning that, it's just a case of the 'Mandela effect'.
It's refreshing because this kind of talent with reality is unfortunately hard to find (in the mainstream I mean) these days. Nice reaction 👍🏻
waiting for the next one 👏👏👏👏
Ren ist unfassbar begabt! So musikalisch divers, wie kaum ein anderer Künstler. Btw. Dein Englisch hört sich total schön an 🙂
Great reaction
I recommend the deep songs of ren and they're all masterpieces and very different
1- how to be me(live version)
2- chalk outline (live version)
Those 2 are just him and chinchilla singing very deep lyrics and since you are a vocalist These 2 will be great for you to react to
3- suicide
4- for joe
5- dominoes
6- depression
7- 7 sins
8- money game part 1,2,3
9- fred again mashup
10- sick boi ( talks about his health journey)
These are all very unique and masterpieces and very different from anything you've ever heard
Welcome to reniverse
The best real and rapper with emotions and most versatile and absolutely best storyteller is “NF” “How could you leave us” is amazing emotional gives back story to his life. “NF” is a must.
This video was filmed in The Lanes, Brighton. The bed was a child's hospital bed and the drip was a colostomy bag. thank you for reacting to Ren.
Try back on 74 if if you need a pallet cleanser with Ren.
Ren is a master of dissonance.
He tunes for it at times.
Welcome to Pandora's box.
One of my absolute favourites is Back on 74…you get singing Ren
Thank you for your thoughts. 🙏🙏🙏
Oldie Renegade here.. new sub so I can enjoy being along for your ‘Rabbit Hole’ adventure! You’ll be amazed at ALL of his ‘genre-bending’ performances!!
His magic lies in the orchestrated symmetry... of dissonance.
Authentic!
Genius!
great reaction freya
The difference between Ren and Elon?
Ren really is a genius.
And Elon is just Noel spelt wrong ! 😅
Thanks for reacting to this masterpiece. Yes all done live. I appreciate you going down the Ren Rabbit hole. Not sure Ren would like to be compared to Elon Musk though.
Musk is the Einstein of this generation so not a bad comparison
The big push Englishman in New York and bongo bong, these are fun and fabulous songs/covers appreciate your reaction🙂
Great reaction 🎉🎉❤❤
I am glad, this time you reacted alone, or at least ignored other people in the room. Danke Schön
Happy side of Ren? Definitely "Back to 74" is must, but I would suggest a rapping wonder, while I avoid to listen to rap, "Loosing It". He really had fun with it, and we all the listeners
London? Everybody said London
I say, surely not. Why would he go to London from his city? At home, its cheaper and easier to arrange people who will tolerate the "Eine Kleine Nacht Music". What's Deine Deinung?
I guess a lot of corners in English cities look similar. Oder nicht?
Oh yes, I love that they remain independent. I wouldn't sign with a label. In today's world freedom is precious.
Ren has a band.. The big push. He has done a cover of I shot the sheriff. Great guitar and singing qualities❤
This was 100% a great reaction
In a janitor closet in a friends apt building, they removed the items from the closet and set up the fake room
To lighten it up, watch Back on 74 live by him. This was filmed in Brighton and I believe the hospital set up was in his old apartment building.
The Difference between Ren & Elon ! REN is a Real Genius with empathy.
Thanks mate!
Murderer (live) shows off his voice and of course Back on 74/Message in a bottle.
Fred again mashup isn’t sad like this but it’s beautiful and it’s just ren and a guitar! Incredible and one of my favorites!!
"im speechless" welcome to the Reniverse
To hear Ren and Sam vocals up your lane. Check out them busking. Mans world. Fallin You will enjoy the talent and vocals
I've subbed for more🇬🇧💙
Enjoyed! Try Back on 74 next, it’s 🔥.
welcome and all hugs around
We Love how Ren is Perfectly Imperfect! He doesnt worry about being a little sharp or flat, missing or muting a string accidentally!
He's not even sharp or flat. He has an edge to his tone and is refreshingly authentic in today's super-overproduced world.
@thefreyacaseymusic I was saying he was in this... its overall... he doesnt care! Won't fix errors like that!
Perfectly imperfectly Perfect imo! Like with you... it's Sooo refreshing to see such an artist today!
You should look up the big push rens band busking on the streets of Brighton the whole group are so talented and i can promise you you will hear some amazing Vocals 😎👍
deutscher renegade hier, er hat wirklich ein unglaubliches spektrum und eine unglaubliche range:
- so richtung gute laune: vieles wo er mit the big push singt, oder generell er eher busking, message in a bottle, fred again
6:54 - that cry of "WHEEEERE did he go" is intentionally over-yelled, it's a sincere cry/wailing , he's 14, he's in trouble, this is bad, it's a loud situation, ready to get louder and even worse
Similar to, once it's over, around 9:40 "riiiight at the staaahht" is also kind of a sobbing tone, but it's over, it's not as extreme, same notes tho, too. Same with "the boooy the he claimed" same notes. You'll hear them if you listen again later.
12:40 - what partially blows my mind here is how we start seated here in the "hospital" doing this setup-guitar and compared to where it ends out in the street, just amazing, this performance and the movement and timing required. lolwtf
A guitar, a voice, and a camera.
There's probably some talent in there too 😊
It was Filmed in Brighton but he sang about London. Unless you visited Brighton as well Love .its a City on the South Coast not far from London .
"Bardcore"
They turned the bike room/mud room, into a hospital room without permission of course! His motto is asking for forgiveness instead of permission! Lol
The bed he bought online was a childs bed! You can notice the leg Floating in air from being stacked up underneath! Lol
Can ya imagine living in the alleyways and being woken up by his yelling!?
Such a Rebel! Lol
Hes admitted hes pretty meticulous when it comes to mixing his music!
Love music 1,2,3,4 😊
try chalk outlines live and How to be me live! cant wait and much love
Enjoy.
Great reaction but please never again compare Ren to Musk.
Absolutely with you on this one! :)
I enjoyed your insight and your reaction.
Ps, The streets are in Brighton.
Back On ‘74/ Message In A Bottle, this is what you lookin for!
Chalk Outlines live is a must
Fred Again mash up and Back on 74 are resent vocal tracks but Blind Eyed the MC Sessions and all of his busking sessions with the Big Push are great vocal songs that can be broken down. Check them out!
Lol... Such a Mom!
Pointing out his dirty socks! LMBO
