- Episode Three explores the Battle of San Jacinto, a fight some historians have referred to as "one of the most one-sided victories in history."
General Sam Houston and some 900 Texians faced Santa Anna’s approximately 1,300 troops on April 21, 1836 in what would ultimately decide the fate of Texas’ Independence.

My family has an original newspaper article depicting the battle. It’s an honor to have a peace of our history written down and kept for several generations in our family. It’s all broken up into pieces but one can read most of it.
Probably a centennial reprint from 1936.
Way to keep history alive for generations to come! Great work. If we don’t know history we will repeat it.

Settlers started plantations in Texas and we know that slavery is a key element of a plantation, but Mexican law prohibited slavery so that started a conflict between local authorities and settlers.
That's one of the arguments that it's thought in Mexican schools for the conflict.

Before the battle, Sam Houston gave a big motivational speech and then ordered the troops to attack in three waves. The first wave was sent and all the troops went against Houston's orders and slaughtered Santa Anna's men in a matter of minutes. It is regarded as one of the most one-sided battles in the history of the world.
1,508 Mexicans against 913 Texians.
Texaian casualties were 2 killed in action, 7 mortally wounded, and 30 slightly wounded.
Mexican casualties were, as reported by Houston, 630 killed in action, 208 wounded, and 730 captured. Complete 100% annihilation.
I’m Hispanic by blood but Texan by heart . I’m glad for all the heroes that fought and died for Texas .

The hand to hand is really good but the Battle of San Jacinto actually started with Cannon Fire on the encampment and was fought little bit differently. Plus not all of the Texas Forces were volunteers or militia.... Texas Regulars also was present in the battle an actually dressed like SOLDIERS with UNIFORMS. But still great melee combat in this video clip.

Yeah, mine too. I was like not allowed to comment because I have ancestors that where involved. I grew up in South Texas with mostly Mexicans who hated Texas history, BUT it is madatory curriculum. Mexican kids would fail it on purpose and never participate in a sort of rebellion thing their ignorant parents taught them. So sad. They are all still in the same place. I moved away from the valley and live in San Antonio. Whote people are accepted here and is better for me and my family. Long live Texas.

There is a ridge line on the battlefield. This helped General Houston surprise Santa Ana. It’s not much of a ridge line but it’s there.
@@gulfcoastaero8048 What really hid them was the weeds and brush which were fairly thick so that Houstons army could get almost on top of the mexican camp, Added to the fact there wasnt much in the way of sentries on the barricade. Yes, there was a ridge, and it helped the Texian army to get closer, but it wasn't right next to the camp....certainly wasnt the big ass hill they show here. Fine video regardless. They did a great job with the uniforms.

@@gulfcoastaero8048 I have been there 3 times in my life..I would like to go on one more "Texas Revolution" holiday before I get too old to travel...I have been just about everywhere, La Bahia, Coleto creek, The Alamo and San Jacinto as well as a smattering of minor places. It's a fantastic bit of history and the sites are fairly well preserved.

what is the historical significance of using the 13 stripe USA flag with a lone star blue field?
what is the historical verification of this flag?
Though I don’t know if the 13 stripes were ever used on flags and such, that Lone Star and Blue Canton design is Texas’ first official flag when it declared independence from Mexico in 1836. Tejano patriot Lorenzo de Zavala is the credited designer of the Star and Blues background with Texas written in it.
Only flag that was there on the Texian side was the San Jacinto Battle flag.

Mexico in 1834- 1836 was in a state of turmoil. Half the states rebelling against the government at the time. If you going to use that logic then the Mexican rebels stole the land from Spain.
