Ok we drew 1-1 at the ‘mad stad’ but also beat you 0-6….I love how shit it is to be Reading. I remember when they were all wearing Man Utd and Liverpool shirts… Reading get into the premiership, all of a sudden everyone is a Reading fan… how I love watching this football club fail. Reading… best stadium in league one. Best get some more tennis balls for the pointless protest.
Oxford v Swindon only came about because Reading were miles ahead of them both. Oxford v Reading is historically a big derby if you look at the history between the two clubs. If Reading Oxford became a more frequent fixture it would quickly become bigger than Oxford v Swindon.
Swindon vs Oxford as a rivalry, long predates Readings 20 or so years in the higher divisions. And during that time, Reading had plenty of time to develop rivalries with other clubs in the area… QPR, Bristol City, Watford, Brentford… the truth is, nobody really cares.
It's very much a secondary rivalry though isn't it? It was always Oxford/Swindon and Reading/Aldershot in my younger days. Obviously with Aldershot out of the picture for decades, Reading now look to the other two as rivals, which is reciprocated in both cases but not to the same extent. A bit like how Leicester are regarded by Derby & Forest in the East Midlands.
For the younger generation of Oxford fan's then yeah it would be Swindon but for the older fans it'd be Reading, if the games played more frequently I can see Reading v Oxford being much more recognised around England.@@simeonayling9882
Best night at the SCL in a while
Felt like a good buzz about the place, good to see during difficult times
Thames Valley Royals.
Clearly someone at Mossad was either an Oxford or Reading fan when they threw him off his boat.

Irrelevant little club. You'll never see the Premier League, Bristol City are a much bigger side.
Oxford and Swindon is the real derby. Reading don’t have any rivals.
cos oxford and swindon are always in the low leagues and reading above them lol

Reading's traditional derby was Swindon, Poxford never came into the league until 1962 so Reading had 40 plus years playing Scumdon
Our rivals were Aldershot and Oxford, then we've been bigger than them for years, so naturally Swindon became rivals too

What an idiotic title, all football fans in this country KNOW that Reading and Oxford are derby rivals, now jog on
Well yes obviously the local people are going to know it’s a derby but I reckon majority of people outside the local area wouldn’t know much about it
