Wow, I’ve never used MSD before but that’s crazy. I just assumed they would work better! I’m a big fan of the stock style wires with the integrated metal covers if you can fit them. Unfortunately these headers wouldn’t fit them without rubbing HARD. Taylor 45 degree wires have worked for me in the past so that’s what I tossed on here. I’ve found if it still touches with 45 or straight it’ll need a boot.
@@MatthewFinlay yea I’m kinda lost and looking for ones this was my second pair of wires and I thought maybe I was doing something wrong but I need more angle as I have long tube headers too hate loosing that hp
So a trick we used to do with plug wires is pulled the center connector for the plug to the rear or fatter end of the silicone boot. Then trim off the excess boot on the narrow end to so it’ll clip back onto the plug. Depending on the header that would let it slip behind tube and closer to the cylinder head rather then touching it - I’d then use the fiberglass heat shield/wrap to protect the wire as a backup. You can also to that trick with a 45 degree boot plug wire but they are usually shorter anyways.
@@MatthewFinlay I never thought about cutting off the end of the boot. I have a 2015 5.3 engine with shorty headers and there is absolutely no room for the wires so they touch except for C1&C2 which of course are both on the end. The maker of the wires so no spark plug can handle that kind of heat and im installing them wrong.
How annoying
🤔🫣🫡🫡🫡you’d definitely be proud of me this late ass evening… including my future self as well 😂😂😂
Always am big dawg!
Brought to you by bondo
As most of my projects are haha
I have msd wires and they burned up with the heat sleeve which wires are good for a LS 5.3
They touched the headers and boom toasted

Interesting video informative on something. Recommend a lot less attempt at comedy makes the message and purpose clearer.
