Hi, thank you for making the most useful video I have found so far.
However, there are 2 questions that I have not found the answer to. Maybe you explained it in another video.
1) In English the expression "which is ..." may not be used sometimes. I see that the same applies to Russian in translations. Is this what we do in Russian, too, when only the "который является" (and other forms) are used?
e.g. Moscow, ( -which is- ) the capital of Russia, is the largest city in Europe.
Москва, ( -которая является- ) столицей России, является крупнейшим городом Европы.
e.g.2 Is there a way ( -that you can- )/ (to) be a soldier if you wear glasses?
Есть ли способ, ( -которым ты можешь- ) стать солдатом, если носишь очки?
2) Can "который" or other clause words be omitted as in English when another subject is used after?
e.g. the most useful video ( -that- ) I have found so far

Hi. Sorry it took so long to get back to your question. In Russian, который-clauses cannot be omitted. For that reason your examples 1 and 3 are not correct. In the example 2, the literal translation from English is not correct; however, the sentence with чтобы is correct but shows the purpose (it is not the adjective clause). Hope it clarifies a bit.

I didn't understand much of what you have said, did you consider if it is worth the time to write russian subtitles for beginners? (Maybe it is not worth the time, as you could make more videos instead) but I would have profitied from subtitles a lot!
Спасибо. This is an introduction to который video. You should understand the grammar concept, even though you might not understand everything I am saying. This is normal. I do not believe you need a script or subtitles for the tutorials like these. What you need is practice with который. I hope your instructor provides some oral and written exercises for students in the classroom. I might need to record some practice videos with который. Хорошая идея!

S&S , the meaning is the same, but the sentence structure is different. Это интересные книги. Эти книги интересные. In the first sentence, you introduce the books, while in the second sentence, you describe them. Does it make sense?

I have a question about the use of 'который' though that I've spent nearly an hour trying to find the answer to but can't seem to find anywhere, it would be great if you or somebody could help me with: As the video says который comes after the Noun it modifies, but does that noun have to be the very previous noun before который? I ask the question because I am trying to translate the below sentence from English to Russian:
"Johan spoke with the owner of the ferry, who stood on the field"
"Джохан разговаривал с хозяйном парома, который стоял на поле"
Does my translation into Russian incorrectly say that it is the ferry which stood on the field?
Alexander McAlaney , thank you for this great question. This is the case when we cannot separate the attribute “of the ferry” from the noun “owner”. And yes, it does make it confusing. Unfortunately, I do not know any other way to say it differently from the sentence you get. I need to search for a better translation. I might get back to you later. Thank you.

Здравствуйте! Когда чаще всего используется причастие настоящего времени? То есть, слова *заканчивающиеся* на "-ющий", "-ящий". Например, говорящий, изучающий, и т.п.
_Человек, говорящий по-испански._ Человек, который говорит по-испански.

In the video I only talked about complex sentences that have adjective clauses with КОТОРЫЙ (which, that, who). But you are right, we also use КОТОРЫЙ when asking about time - КОТОРЫЙ ЧАС? It literally means "which hour".

Pikachu , нет. Первый вариант правильный. Второй: Это моя подруга, которой нужна новая квартира. The word «нужен» requires the dative case, so КОТОРЫЙ is in the feminine dative.
