Hey Ben! Happy for you that you have that new scrapyard so close! Also nice from you to help other scrappers! Tells a lot of your character. Nice work! Waiting your next video!!
Great set up i must say ,very much like how we had ours over here in Manchester UK ,gave it all up when the father passed away and the gardening business he had was sold off 6 years ago .I worked with him during the summers over 20 years in total ,we soon learnt most peoples gardens have bits and pieces of scrap here and there such as electric flex off appliances .Every time we did the garden we went away with something or another , i saved all my wheelie bins full till just before Christmas time and used the money for my daughters Presents etc .Can no longer do it anymore due to where i live thesedays but great to watch others doing it still on here ,all the best Geoff
Great plug for Manhari. Glad you found them and their new yard is close by. Have been going there for years and their prices definitely make the hard work worth it.
wow! your in the money there! (deserve every $ too!) all that hard work goes to a better place than landfill! cant wait for next vid, your getting down it all now 😊 wont be any left at this rate! lol (are the chooks or scrapper chook helping to?) its nice to see that space and just think "wow! its empty!" 😳😊 take care ben, please dont overdo it?!
In every category your prices are better, to much better than the prices here in the Midwest USA!! Nice new clean scrap yard. First scrap yard I've seen with concrete and not gravel and mud!! Have a GREAT Day!!!
Always love to see what all your hard work is worth! Just had Owen scrap steal price here in the USA finally read the $100 per ton. It was down as low as $40 a few months back!
no it's not, it's very similar in price, scrap yards a re paying based on 43% copper content, I know for sure most of it is not 43%, at best 30% and some probably only 20% or aluminium even, the only wire worth stripping is what would be called high grade wire, 60%+ copper
Man that is a awesome price scale on everything sounds good I live in Nashville Tennessee and I went and sold 150 pounds of number one clean and it's 2.05 a pound and number two clean is at 1.85 I had 44 pounds of that and a grand total of 322.00 for all
Its been a little frustrating since Pacific closed its doors to anything from your every day scrapper. The prices they tell you arent what you ever get anymore either and i clean everything spotlessly. Hart have been paying the best for clean aluminium lately but they're very strict on it being spotless. I personally wont ever return to Manhari after they paid light pressing for 6 ton of hmg cut into 1 metres and refused to amend the price even after a manager said they did make a mistake.
mid grade wire is pretty much most normal wire including power cords with all the plugs removed. low grade is with plugs still on, thin ribbon wire like you would find in a dvd drive, antenna wire etc
@@eWasteBen what about boards I know there are mother boards, mid grade and low grade how do you determine mid and lower grade boards. Sorry about all the questions but I'm new and I'm trying to learn you seem like a really good person to learn from. Thank you for your help.
@@steelisthemeal well when you've been completely rooted from your back from pain and can only clip cords, picking your kids up you could do this also. Not much considering the money I could've made from being a carpenter
That's really good pricing , here in NY I have been getting about .50 cent a pound for 40% wire. Like 30 cents for cast and 1.30 for brass. Batteries are like 25 cent a pound. I'm gunna call around alittle I wish I could get prices like that!
🇺🇸Greetings eWaste Ben. You have to go where they the most money, no that prices are up. You really have alot of wires. Great to see new videos. PLEASE PLEASE more scrapping videos. Be safe, healthy &blessed
Wow that's some hard work you process a lot I just do wire thick wire copper and aluminum 500 mcm copper but now do too the virus scrap yards here pay shit
Would an electric winch inside the van to help pull in tubs a crazy idea?.....side note..the forklifts being used Chinese in make....I didn't recognize the brand name on the forklifts.
I wonder if Manhari got a good deal for that lot considering it's next to the toxic burned-out husk of a factory that was storing a bunch of chemicals when it went up in flames? I'm a little overly curious I guess but I looked up the address on Google Maps and when I saw the remains of the place next to it I wondered what happened and did some more Googling to find out.
$669.20 US. Not bad, and a great service to the environment. FYI to the commenters, Australian dollars are worth 67 cents and there are 2.2 pounds to the kilogram.
You don't get licensed to drive a forklift just to get out of it all day and pick up backbreaking trash cans . And the company can't expect every scrapper to come and be lifting loads because then they would be responsible for anything that happens to you as well.
I'm with you i always get anxiety waiting for someone to complete a task the "easy"(lazy) way. Taking 6 min to complete a 40 second task. I want to move them out of the way and get it done.
Just FYI, I used to work for a scrapyard. All your data cable is processed as low/reject cable, but i can guarantee they sell it as mid/household cable. We used to rob people blind with grades.
so... this new yard pays U nicely well for now... U deserve each penny :-) ...but these prices arnt just to lure U in as a new customer, and next time the prices go down?
I’d have to clean all that wire and melt it down to some ingots. I get to save a lot more up and haul off a lot more at one time when I melt it down and pour up some ingots of pure copper, aluminum, brass, and any other of my metals. I’ve got a machine that cleans all the wire and it absolutely hurts my feelings if I have to sale any still in insulation.

Well done. it's always a pleasure watching your videos, they never disapoint.
Having these videos on your channel is important. It shows new scrappers what they should expect when cashing in.

Nice to have a scrap yard close that pays good money nice prices
That scrap yard is pretty clean and organized.
But that coffee cup is nasty. I would rather drink water from the cement than drink anything from that cup. It looks fungal.
Nice payday Ben, that was a nice load. Thank you for the video !
That’s a bloody awesome scrap payday Ben
👍nice payday what a pile of cables👍
Nice haul Ben! Good to see you, So sorry about your country's fires...

Great video Ben it’s nice to see you going to the Scrap Yard and giving prices
These videos actually make you want to keep your scrap like Ben did nice big weigh in well done mate
Hey Ben. Hello from Kansas City. Yes...that one. My Scrap yard is about 4 miles away. Keep up the good work.
I wish I lived in Australia! Be glad to help out just for educational purposes as payment! Been a joy watching your videos over the last few weeks.
GREAT Video Ben Can't Wait To See Your Street Scraping Videos When They Start Keep Bringing THE Videos Dude 👍👍

yeah things are looking up for scrap metal, all good.
Those bins work great for scrapping! That yard is so clean and organized, no wonder they can pay the best prices as they are so efficient.
good payday for just needing some empty bins, thanks for sharing
Dobrý večer Ben...thanks for the second Video in the last days. Greets from Berlin ;)
wow your place is looking really clean, looks like you got a lot of work done
Kadin Kaiser I agree looks good
My place is a mess. Wish I could be this organized...
Awesome, love the scrap runs!
This would be a fun hobby because I love taking things apart. I would totally work for meals :)
Nice haul Ben
nice haul..keep it up mate...I am a retired crane operator in the US of 22 years..it was a fun job
Great video's Ben keep them coming :) I might get in too scraping even though the market here in Canada isn't nearly as big.
Enjoyed it! Thanks Ben!
Good to see copper prices are back up, time to cash in the stockpile i think!
Copper & Brass seem to be on the up, will be going harder street scrapper this year, hope to see you around there
is it not worth to process those wires with a wire stripper? With that quantity I think the difference in price would be huge!
no it's not, it's very similar in price, scrap yards a re paying based on 43% copper content, I know for sure most of it is not 43%, at best 30% and some probably only 20% or aluminium even, the only wire worth stripping is what would be called high grade wire, 60%+ copper

GREAT PC SCRAP METAL AND FANTASTIC PRICE - WELL DONE !!!!
How do you tell mid or low grade in items that one would take in. Sorry if it a stupid question but I'm totally new to this.
mid grade wire is pretty much most normal wire including power cords with all the plugs removed.
low grade is with plugs still on, thin ribbon wire like you would find in a dvd drive, antenna wire etc

You’ve done a great job on the garage Ben you can elk in the garage 👍
subscribed. Thankyou Ben. Very interesting watch... and didn't skip the ads.
Cool beans Ben. Nice video.

Another good video
Wat a tool of a fork lift driver he got more on the ground than in the steel boxes
He is definitely a fucking idiot operator
nobody is perfect. and practice gives skill ;) give the bloke a break :P
He shouldn't be lifting those anyway. They are supposed to be hand tipped. Illegal and unsafe. Instant fail.
@@rhiys so dump them by hand then. Dude in the video asked him to dump them with the lift
Money well earned. I will have to be your best friend Hahah. Hard work, congratulations on the new prices.
I get a lot of stuff from skips that electricians use. I always know when the price is going up then I find stripped out cable.

What happens with all the outer plastic coverings of the items?
Really interesting video. Thanks YT recommendations

Ben, please help me understand why you choose to take the wire in that way vs stripping it? Thanks in advance!
Great video, great payout...ebery little bit helps #Happyscrapping
I'm in Northern NY, our bare bright just hit $2.10/lb, Tin is $130/gross ton, short steel $160/gross ton
manhari should pay u a commission bro,u just gave them a shout out and got them a few more extra customers👍
Ben with printers etc pull them apart if solid plastic most councils allow in yellow lid bin then u get a few bucks more
i LOVE how organized you are!
Nice payday mate ,time to get out and fill up AGIAN, nice, live in Wisconsin and starting to get in to it ,cheers
Great to see another yard video, well deserved cash earned.
New to your site!! I love trips to the scrapper!!
I don’t know how much wire you come across but me personally I would invest in a wire stripper and get better prices
Brandon Bunsold he’s got one
That is a lot of vire. Chears Ben.

not crazy but probably not worth setting it up in this old van

Also your small motorbike batteries, yes they're lead acid but higher quality. They're worth more, but wont tell you.
Always ask them to weigh the container before you dump your stuff in. It always weighs less than they tare off.

Tim's business would be registered for GST, mines not thankfully
