Cayman Islands got some decent damage. Storm surge, very heavy storms winds, trees down power outage, some building damaged/destroyed, winds up 55mph+ very high waves over 18ft. The effects were more of what you'd expect from a strong Tropical Storm rather than what you'd expect from a strong cold front/winter storm in Cayman.
🇧🇸Good morning Brian, thanks for your very, very accurate weather updates. It rained🌨️ last night in Grand Bahama in the Extreme Northern Bahamas and then the temperature dropped to 60°, wah,😹 and the wind🌬️ came from the NNW at 22mph. Today it's still raining lightly with the winds still from the NNW but now at 25 mph.
My prayers are with those in California who are experiencing extreme flooding and rain. Atmospheric river, I've never heard the term, but it is a catastrophic weather condition in (Southern?) California! We breathed a sigh of relief when the hurricane season was over, but there is no respite from disasters and calamity which tells us that Mother Nature is tired of the way we have treated her and she is unleashing her anger on us. May the God of Creation hold back some of her force and save us from complete destruction.🙏.

I saw a few video clips (this morning) of the impact the system had on Grand Cayman. The wind was very strong, and sea surge gave the appearance of hurricane conditions. I never realized the weather in the region was so bad.

Here on Grand Turk 🇹🇨we had some very heavy rain last night with thunder and lightning. Our cisterns never filled up so much so quickly in a very long time. Strong winds out of the west with gusts high as 40 kn. Very rough seas with big swells and a lot of white caps

This morning the sea was Raging and the waves were so high not sure how it is out there now. Cayman took a beating today. 15foot waves making a mess along the water front in George Town and along North West Point. Chunks of the road ripped out by the water, docks and waterfront decks pretty much gone. This was a big one. Biggest waves Ive seen in Cayman since I got here in 2015.
