It's been so hot I've just brewed the hazy IPA kit ( couldn't be bothered to do a all grain , although did today ) I used bottled water as our water is so hard ( obviously treat my water when doing a all grain and use tap ) got to be honest you've got me a bit worried guys I really don't enjoy that homebrew twang anymore 😜 loved the sound effects at the start of the vid made me chuckle cheers 👍🍻
I've got that one to throw together tonight assuming I can get my arse in gear and keg this schneider weisse clone. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad beer or anything. We drank a LOT of it throughout the day. Once you taste that taste though, you know it's there. Maybe it won't be there in the Hazy Pale? We shall see!
Muntons Flagship Milk Stout question - OG - 1.062-5 Week 1 - 1.040 Week 2 - 1.030 Temp 18-19c Been brewing for 2 weeks and it’s slow going, kit says FG should be 1.014 to bottle at around day 14, which is now, so I’m not there yet at all and by the looks it’s just slow not stalled (will test again in a couple of days), but I’ve read that 1.014 isn’t likely and around 1.020 is likely the gravity it may get to as the lactose adds quite a bit? Do you remember your FG?
Sadly not as it was quite a while ago now. I would say, unless you have something like a tilt/float/ispindel then don’t take readings every week. Just wait until I looks done and start looking to see if you’re at your final gravity. Much less chance of introducing infection.
@@OysterBoysBrewingCo I use a test tube and spigot tap so should be fine. To me it tastes done and no activity for the last few days. I'll test again but think the lactose is messing with it since that's unfermentable. Only my 3rd brew so seems trickier one, the sour beer is really nice though!
What beer kit do you think we should try next?
Everyone on the brewing forums bleats on about Woodford Wherry. Might be worth a go.
@@chrisward1666 This is strange as someone I spoke with at my work today mentioned these guys and the kit beers. Are they based in Norfolk?
Cheers lads. I won that kit last month and soon as it gets delivered I'll be making it. 🍻
You'll enjoy it! Great Autumn/winter beer.
Excellent video my friend.
Thanks so much!
