Can we just take a moment to appreciate the sheer artistry from 5:27 onward? I've never played World of Light but this scene just blew me away. The arrival into a bizzare dimension that's a surreal distorted collage of previous episodes, the bad guys returning as possessed husks of their former selves, the cruel legs of some malevolent entity breaking through the castle windows. This last act, despite being so cartoony, genuinely feels like a place of chaos and evil. That grotesque outline of the final enemy furtively darting behind scenery floating in the void was both genius and terrifying.
So as crazy as this sounds, I think I have a theory. This is the episode where Mario got possessed by the Speed Demon. At 5:23, you see what APPEARS to be Geno go through him and sorta disappear. I think this is when he gets possessed. Maybe the demon took his form or something? Geno is obviously tied to this whole thing somehow (As evidenced in Something about Subspace Emissary) so I think that this is just a disguised Speed Demon taking advantage of this confusion to possess Mario. And Mario's next appearance (Mario World) is the first time we see the Speed Demon for sure. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Or Theory. Whichever idk

I did the opposite. High melee dmg with a Giant Ganondorf. Pauline went flying through the roof in 5 secs
Winning the fight without spirits was a pain. Thanksfully she sometimes dies on her own.

As much as people love Smash Ultimate, I personally can’t get over how it’s a pure boss rush compared to the actual world of the Subspace Emissary in Brawl. Nonetheless, this video always gives me a smile
While I agree Subspace is stronger on the whole, imo WoL's finale is much, much stronger than any individual piece of Subspace, particularly its finale. But I do wish WoL had more segments like the finale.
I love that the story with that evolved from Link throwing up, to just looking, to this. I genuinely loved that story mode(partially because it was my first smash game)
