  • Demonstrating how to use the TurboChef El Bandido for more than just sandwiches! Specialized President, Walter Kirchhoff, shows us the versatility the El Bandido can bring to your kitchen. Using patented technology, the TurboChef El Bandido is the first rapid cook oven that can operate as a high-speed/high-quality panini press with the flexibility to rapidly cook non-pressed foods. The panini press is externally actuated so the operator can choose to press a product. For more information visit specializedwi.com

I actually bought the exact pizza oven from that episode of bar rescue. The bar in the show still went belly up.

Is it always ready to use, or does it need a warm-up period before use?

This is great, but at $10K a piece, it's insanely expensive. I have a hard time understanding reasons behind why kitchen appliances in the U.S are so damn expensive. This thing cost more than a used car.

nah, its not so expensive for US, its insanely expensive for poor countries like russia etc, like brand new car, or flat in shitty town

It's apparently an insanely well built piece of equipment, and you shouldn't think of this as a normal kitchen appliance. This is not for your home cook, this is for a professional kitchen that wants something that can run all day cooking things really fast. It's comparable to other professional appliances like a salamander or a pacojet in price, and appliances like these are expensive and used all around the world, not just in the US.
I saw a comment from the guy who wrote the software for like half of these on a William Osman video, and it uses impingement, which is blasting a jet of very hot air onto the food from both sides, and it has to do this all day. Some models can also microwave at the same time. Also shifts around the food slightly for even colouring, and can make a fresh pizza in 90 seconds with results not too off from an actual pizza oven. It has a catalytic converter to make it actually 100% smoke free, which is important because apparently the FDA tested running it for like an hour or some long period of time, and all that remained of the food was a scorch mark.

This machine would very easily outcook 5 standard panini presses, with a lot more consistency.
