      Agreed. These are the reason I booked lessons with you, Borko! That, and you speak calmly at a pace that I can follow, even when speaking in Serbian. The other tutors speak like they are in a race, or they mumble, or they are very monotone, or their audio is absolutely horrible!
      Also, "neuter" is what we do to male dogs to keep them from breeding. I know it is technically correct in the context of genders, but it makes me laugh every time I hear it. I always heard it as ""gender neutral" growing up.

    Невероватно објашњење! Живим у Румунији. Србија нам је близу, али ја никада нисам био у Србији јер не говорим српски. Са великим интересовањем пратим ваш видео. Заиста желим да научим српски веома добро. Отац ми је причао на српском. Од када је умро, много сам заборавио. Настави са добрим радом! Ви сте једноставно невероватни.

    According to Hrvatski jezični portal, the vocative plural form of jare is jaradi. I am wondering if jarići is declined this way only in Serbian?

    • @teacherboko
      @teacherboko  8 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure about other standards (whether they accept "jarići") but we also have "jarad" in Serbian.
      "jarad" is a collective noun, and "jarići" seems more like a regular plural, but it's masculine, even though "jare" is neuter.

    Thank you so much for your time and effort; you are giving all details about the cases but still I am confused and mess them all. Is there any easy/basic way for them? (Or what about if I do not use them 🤔)

    • @teacherboko
      @teacherboko  2 года назад +2

      Thank you for the support.
      I think the easier and more systematic way to learn the language (and the cases) would be to follow the mini-course that I've been making. Step by step is what I mean.
      I don't think you can completely ignore them. 🤔
      Even 3-year-olds, when they first start forming their mini sentences, use (or at least try using) the cases.

    • @sikoyakoy2376
      @sikoyakoy2376 2 года назад

      My recommendation is to be patient. Learn the way each case ending changes between cases as slowly as you need to, one by one, and take your time learning them. Also remember them by remembering example sentences. From what I have seen, the case system is one of the most regular elements of Slavic languages. It’s just complex but once your mind is used to it, it will probably be one of the easiest features.
      I say this as someone who is now intermediate in Lithuanian and is very confident in using cases now (neither of the languages I grew up with - Tagalog and English - have cases like Slavic languages do). Slavic languages are somewhat similar to Baltic languages.
      Basically, at first, understand that what you can say is limited and limit yourself to simpler expressions and uses of cases. If you aren’t sure what case ending to use, always ask until your intuition has developed enough. My mind got used to the cases of Lithuanian within about one month (though it took somewhat longer to make minimal mistakes, but I had quite a problem with consistency and organisation). My recommendation is at least 20 to 30 minutes a day. It could take you one or two days to learn each case. Also, don’t just remember the names of the cases but also get a rough idea of how they are used (you will need to refine your intuition of how to use cases through further exposure so don’t worry about completely understanding how to use cases at first; worrying too much will just hinder your progress, but you do need to have a rough idea of the basic uses).

    • @teacherboko
      @teacherboko  2 года назад

      Right. 😱 I used one synonym in the definition, and then the other one in the example.
      to be impressed by - oduševiti se; biti imresioniran
      I am impressed. = Oduševljen sam. = Impresioniran sam.
      Oduševljen sam tvojim dostignućem. = Imresioniran sam tvojim dostignućem.

    • @teacherboko
