My first fragrance I bought before learning about discounter was Jimmy Choo Man back in 2016. Lol
Great video with some great choices in there and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day
Thanks
To answer the question, I think clones would just become even more popular
I agree. However, they’d be at full retail too. I wonder if some would be considered overpriced at full retail.
I would still be a collector. I started collecting at a young age long before I knew about discounters. My collection would largely look as it does now with the exception being I wouldn't own a few of the cheapies I own. I bought them because the prices were so low it didn't matter or because I needed to get to free shipping. But if I buy a fragrance its because I truly love it. I don't buy because of influencers or hype. I also don't wear, own, or support clones.

I have been wearing fragrances all my life (I'm 58). Prior to 2006, I always had an assortment of around 10 bottles in my rotation. I started actively collecting in 2006 and to date, I have roughly 2800 bottles in my collection. To your point, no, I more than likely would not have a collection as large if I wasn't able to acquire fragrances at discounted prices BUT...I have bought plenty at retail as well. Most of your fragrance retailors I have my own code so I consider myself rather fortunate. That was not always the case and has taken a number of years to establish those relationships. Plus, I used to be a pretty heavy splitter before it was very popular. I didn't split individual bottles. I split whole lines. lol If you're older in the game you probably know me. lol Be well, The Bopper.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing
Even before I discovered discounters I was super cheap and would wait for sales 😂 such as the 200ml bottle of Y EDP for $139
Come on Elliot let's do this💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🎯🎯🎯🎯💯
💪🏾💪🏾
Visonary eye

Blue parfum
Burlington 1819
Oligarch edp
Intensivo
Imagination
Voyage
Nio
La corde
Hersperide
Tonic vert no 8
Bohemian lime
Apres la amore

Amyris extrait pricey but wld be prepared to pay retail if I had too but had discount deals on most shop about and get whats on your list when the discounts comes available or at reputable discounters notino in the uk bin good for me over the years
I think that I would still be a collecting but would not have the same collection. I wouldn't have a lot of the designers. I I started before I knew about discounters. A lot of my fragrances are worth paying retail prices. I wouldn't have bought a lot of what I call gym scents. YSLs, Versace, I probably wouldn't have bought. Purple Suede sounds like one that I would like. Nice video. Good creative work 👍🏿 😅👍🏿
👍🏾👍🏾
I tried purple suede today. I like it. Unique. It definitely will/has to grow on you
👍🏾👍🏾
Naxos would def be purchased at retail, but I don’t wear it as a tobacco scent, it’s too lavender and honey forward for me to think of it in that way. I just think it’s a beautiful scent that works in so many situations.
👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾
Good vid❤
Awesome Concept!!!! Loved it.❤💯💪🏾💪🏾

This is an interesting topic, bc this has the variable of knowing about clones and samples. My sample collection would be massive and my bottle collection would probably be cut in half if not more. I wouldn’t have the number of flankers or similar fragrances in my collection. I’d only buy loves instead of likes. There are certain fragrances that I really like but don’t think they’re worth their retail price.
I too would likely have more large samples, 10-30 ml, if I really wanted the fragrance but didn’t feel the need to have a full bottle. In fact, I would do that now but sample bottles don’t make for good fragrance content.
@@thefragrancewell I try to remind myself the same thing but for the opposite reasons 😂. Yea, it’d be nice to have a full bottle of it, but you’re not making content so settle for a sample and enjoy the experience.
for me, I get full bottles from time to time, for all else its me hitting the frag sites to get vials and decants..thats how alot of us can get more of what we need at a lower price point
Indeed
Top 5 “Would buy at retail” (of course I’d still look for sales):
Niche
Xerjoff Naxos
Xerjoff Torino 21
Vertus Vanilla Oud
Sospiro Vibrato
Angel’s Share
Designer
Dior Homme Parfum
Y Le Parfum
Spicebomb extreme
Armani Code EDP OR Parfum
ADG Profondo

Great video concept
Thanks
Too be honest, if wasn't for apps like Affirm and Afterpay my collection would definitely be slim picking lol.
Great content man in the uk Iv picked up al 6 of my pdms around 170 gbp not sure what yous pay in dollars a full bottle just boutworth that never paid full retail on a creed and can just about warrant paying 170 gbp a full bottle on the ones I love but naxos ouch !! One of the few I wild pay full retail masterpiece!!
👍🏾👍🏾
Oops 😬 I forgot to add PDM Layton thanks
Great video topic. I too started collecting without knowing about discounters. It just made me more intentional about the fragrances I bought. I buy and rotate my fragrances by seasons and brands and this also helps me streamline my collection and cut out a lot of fillers and flankers. Example: Initio
Spring - Oud of Happiness
Summer - Musk Therapy
Autumn - Oud of Greatness
Winter - Blessed Baraka
👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾
Initio Neo is awesome
Ofg on steroids💪🏾💪🏾
Frederic male the moon, but if I could get it half off I would.
Dior Ambre Nuit I wasn't going to get at the time but I eventually bought it Elliot and I don't regret it ✌🏾
I’ll be getting it too. Likely this year. I’ve got a few that are similar to it but they aren’t the original.
@@thefragrancewellkinda redundant if you have 40 knots
Elliott nice video great talking points and of course I have some constructive criticisms on said video with that said I have experienced, owned and sold over 300 fragrances and I can say with all certainty I only own or experienced 3 fragrances 901 nutmeg, almond, patchouli by Bon Parfumeur & Kenzo Homme EDT Intense By Kenzo & Salvador Dali Pour Homme by Salvador Dali. Keep up the great work.
👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾
If discounters weren't an option, I'd likely own only 10 or so frags. It'd be a mix of niche and designers, a mix of cool/cold and warm/hot weather frags, and all occasions would be covered:
Naxos
Jubilation 40
Dior Homme Parfum
Oud Wood
The One Luminous Night
BDC Parfum
Nio
Elysium Parfum Pour Homme
Absolu Aventus
Edition Blanche
I'd add Ombre Leather EDP since it's my wife's favorite.
I’d bet that most of us that have more than 25 would have less than we have. Thanks for sharing the list.
No one sells for loss exceptions are there. Discounters show you how much of a mark up retailers have. $50 - $100 dollar fragrance being sold for $300+ retail and unless you are a chemist / perfumer you really don't know "natural" marketing words to get people. Its a shame however being a Fraghead, I would never pay retail except for Bleu De Chanel lol.
👍🏾👍🏾
I also started with out knowing that discounters exist lol
Oops forgot to end my comment with that subjectively fall in the worth full price of admission
At full retail only I think this whole industry looks different. The niche brands wouldn’t have taken off as much as they have and the designers wouldn’t be skyrocketing on their prices either. Houses like PDM, Amouage, Creed, Fragrance DuBois, Roja, and others wouldn’t really exist or have their followings. Tommy Bahama and John Varvatos wouldn’t sustain their markets either. I would be a collector but my collection would look different. I would have more 50 and 30 mil bottles but overall have fewer bottles. Creed wouldn’t be in the stratosphere with their prices and BTV probably wouldn’t even be a known brand. I think the top end prices we are seeing now would be far lower.
Thanks for sharing, but I’m gonna push back on the notion that brands wouldn’t be as popular or have a following. Two things we have to remember when it comes to the industry; 1. The majority of these brands sales don’t come from “frag comm”. 2. Many of these fragrances are luxury, meaning they aren’t trying to sell to the majority of people in the first place. They’re happy to sell to the rest of us, but we aren’t their target demographic.
link to the store...says store not available
It sure does. Thanks for letting me know.
What discounters do you recommend??
Check my video catalog. I did a video on what discounters I use. However I’ll probably do an updated one soon.
All my fragrances I bought are at retail . 😂😂😂
Welp, you’d be good to go in the alternate universe
Naxos Is Only 250.00, 3.4 Oz
👍🏾
Yeah i bought that same Jimmy Choo but from Macys 🤦🏾♂️
Lol. Jimmy Choo got a lot of us
@@thefragrancewell lol thought i had the one!
