    My father was the most respected and gracious musicians of all time. I miss him so profoundly. I am so incredibly blessed to be able to listen to these recordings. He was brilliant and will never be forgotten. I love you Dad.

      Hi Venetia. I met your father just once at the Alabama Accordion Association in 2009 where he played for us. My takeaway was that not only was he an incredible accordionist but also the nicest person you would ever want to meet. I was very sad to hear of his passing. And yes, we are all blessed to have these recordings and I listen to them often.

    I've been around for quite a few years but I've never heard any body else play Stella
    By Starlight the way maestro Frank does. I'm so glad to be able to see him play
    in these videos. A miracle of YOU TUBE which I thank so much.

    Frank Marocco was not only an incrediable musician and virtuoso on the accordion he was also a great friend and inspirition. Frank played on all of my Italian CD's and always gave the songs he played on his personal trademark. It also ususlly only took one take on the solos he would lay down which was mindblowing to be there and watch as he recorded. Frank...you will be missed...you will always be in our memories...Love You!!

    Frank Marocco's solos are unique indeed and his technique is the most precise I've
    ever heard. He never repeats him self in an improvisation because he has in his
    mind millions of ideas just waiting to be played. All the jazz accordionists should
    follow his foot steps...God bless you Frank!

    What an amazing and lovely performance of this old classic, by the masterfull and generous Frank Marocco. He will be missed by so many. But he lives on in our hearts, and his unique music will still be cherished by all those who were lucky enough to cross his path. God bless his memory

    il mio fisarmonicista preferito,un grandissimo,in Italia se provi soltanto a suonare jazz con la fisarmonica muori letteralmente di fame,qua da noi va solo lo "zum pa pa" e i lisciaroli del sabato sera.
    Great Frank rulez!

    I heard Tommy Gumina 53 years ago at a club in West Hollywood. I was taking lessons from Tito Guidotti at the time and Gumina was staying with he and Sylvia Prior. Tito said that I had to hear this great "young Turk". My Dad took me and we met Tito at the club. I was blown away by Gummina's playing. Marocco's playing is less flasy but very effedtive and skilled. I don't know how to judge them mano e mano.

    Too bad a) Frank is no longer with us, and b) more people should listen to this genre on the piano accordion and quit thinking we are only capable of playing polkas and 3/4 time cornball waltzes from two centuries ago......

      +Mike DiVincenzo ...are there any other accordion players? he's the only one i really like...i search the youtube and i can't find any accordion player that i like, other than frank marocco...i also like some free bass accordion stuff when it's together with clarinet etc, but solo accordion...only frank marocco...there must be someone else, who?

      sexypoetry Larry Goldings is great on accordion, but he mostly records piano and Hammond B-3. He also has a comedic persona that he calls “Hans Groiner”. Check out both :) Also Jeff Taylor who lives in Nashville can play all styles with great fluidity! Harder to find Jeff Taylor videos but they are out there and he has a RUclips channel now. One of his passions is Celtic music, but like I said he does it all!

    That sucks! accordion is an ugly instrument that makes any music style sound pathetic and deadly boring

    • @yngwarragnarsson4402
      @yngwarragnarsson4402 6 лет назад +2

      So sorry to see that there are so stupid people.. In your last name is a word 'kulov' that on my language means 'peasant' :(

    • @yerlanberdikulov9927
      @yerlanberdikulov9927 6 лет назад +1

      in my language 'Yngwar Ragnarsson' means 'your daddy should've pulled and left you to dry out on the bed sheets'

    • @yngwarragnarsson4402
      @yngwarragnarsson4402 6 лет назад +3

      Yerlan Berdikulov Again, do not try to be smart or funny or whatever, because you just failed. You'll remain stupid, you can not change that, it's too late. You've just proven that. Bye.

    • @yerlanberdikulov9927
      @yerlanberdikulov9927 6 лет назад

      yeah, yeah... I don't share your accordion tastes and that makes me nothing but stupid. you're pretty reasonable, I should say

    • @yngwarragnarsson4402
      @yngwarragnarsson4402 6 лет назад

      Yerlan Berdikulov Not at all, it is ok that you don't like accordion. The thing that make me think you're stupid is that you had to spit on that instrument and tell the world how it makes all music sound bad. Like that should be true. And there are studies which can prove that accordion is the most perfect acoustic instrument by it's tehnical and sound abilities. That is all.
