It was designed for audiences to have 0% knowledge going in of what they are about to see (genre/plot/length/etc). For those who watched it streaming, after being exposed to trailers, posters, and reviews, it’s not gonna land the same.

I was confused, knowing i was about to watch a "horror" movie - suddenly watching a love story and then boom, it changed the entire perspective, which got me intrigued. I really felt elizabeth's feelings for some reason - so intense.

Also it's amazing to have two main characters be in a lesbian relationship. It made me happy to see some lesbian representation. If Lizzy was THAT drugged up, how did she remember their conversation on the mountain? If Charlotte was trying to “save” Lizzy, why leave her in the middle of nowhere, drugged/sick, and with a freshly amputated hand and blood loss? It’s surprising that she survived at all. No one knew where they were and they were supposed to be on a 2wk vacation, so they wouldn’t even be missed yet. How did Charlotte get home? She claims that it would’ve taken her 3hrs to order bus tickets in a city where plenty of people would know English, yet she gets home from a rural area where hardly anyone would be able to? Strange. I also don’t know what the point of her wearing a wig was. Unless they were saying that she was covering her “imperfections” with it, if so, it wasn’t well implied and she’s beautiful with the short hair, so it hardly comes across as an imperfection. Maybe they’re saying that the electroshock treatment was relatively recent. It’s hard to tell. How did she explain the extreme damage to her forearm requiring an amputation? Plus, that would require a lengthy hospital stay. Where did these ladies get the equipment, supplies, and knowledge to set up TPN (the IV nutrition they had him on at the end)? It’s not like they could’ve gone to the hospital to get it since they hacked him up. Speaking of hacking him up, how did he not die from having all four limbs chopped off like that, especially in a home setting with no blood transfusions? And where did the massive gash to his left shoulder go from the last strike Lizzy made with the cleaver? What happened to all of the other students who were studying there? Wouldn’t they have noticed the absence of all their teachers, plus the blood and bodies that would’ve been everywhere? I’ll stop there, but this was just there tip of the iceberg of things wrong with this movie. I enjoyed some aspects of it and am usually able to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy a movie. This one was just so flawed that the title “The Perfection” was ironic!

This was actually a movie made for a movie festival and THEN netflix bought it, so it kinda wasn't a netflix original, just like Black mirror isn't a netflix original series, but I agree, the script was kinda sloppy, and with some plot holes that I still think about now.
Almost all movies and shows on Netflix aren't Netflix originals they just bought the rights to stuff already being made or about to be made and they put their stamp on it.

Yes. A first movie in years that suprised me (I usually guess the plot long before a movie ends). It was original.mix of many things, and the buss scene was very well built up. You could really feel the horror of feeling that bad in being stuck in the middle.of nowhere.

Speaking of hacking him up, how did he not die from having all four limbs chopped off like that, especially in a home setting with no blood transfusions? And where did the massive gash to his left shoulder go from the last strike Lizzy made with the cleaver?
What happened to all of the other students who were studying there? Wouldn’t they have noticed the absence of all their teachers, plus the blood and bodies that would’ve been everywhere?
I’ll stop there, but this was just there tip of the iceberg of things wrong with this movie. I enjoyed some aspects of it and am usually able to suspend my disbelief long enough to enjoy a movie. This one was just so flawed that the title “The Perfection” was ironic!

This was actually a movie made for a movie festival and THEN netflix bought it, so it kinda wasn't a netflix original, just like Black mirror isn't a netflix original series, but I agree, the script was kinda sloppy, and with some plot holes that I still think about now.
The biggest plot hole is why isn't she playing Rip and tear by Mick Gordon.
Almost all movies and shows on Netflix aren't Netflix originals they just bought the rights to stuff already being made or about to be made and they put their stamp on it.

It's perfectly okay that you didn't like it. Personally i loved it, but it doesn't seem like you quite understood the meaning of that ending. The reason that the scene of them playing together was written like that was because it was meant to be a metaphor for the fact that they completed each other.

I loved this movie. Sure, there are holes to poke, but taken as is, the explanations function and add up to a wild ride.
Yes. A first movie in years that suprised me (I usually guess the plot long before a movie ends). It was original.mix of many things, and the buss scene was very well built up. You could really feel the horror of feeling that bad in being stuck in the middle.of nowhere.
I also enjoyed it, I was actually looking forward to the ending explained but he didn't like it so 😭
