Why are people mad at her for not talking about her personal situations? I dont get it and it makes me mad. It's none of our business what shes feeling, people handle things differently like she said, just because someone else opens up about something hard in their lives on the internet and another person doesn't, doesn't mean they're not sad or that they dont care. It's her desicion not to talk about certain things in her life and the fact that people are being mean to her for not wanting to speak out about certain things makes me livid because 1. it's not helping the situation 2. it's not making her feel better and 3. I love her and the fact that anyone would be mean to her or mad at her for such a small reason makes me upset.

Marilyn L no I think it's the fact that vloggers and you tubers share their lives on the internet and so people watch them go through their lives and invest their time and interests in what they do and how they live. It's true nobody should feel that they have to share everything online with people but at the same time what do they expect when they share everything else? If they're happy to show off their relationship and put out their wedding videos etc of course people are going to be interested in why they've split up. That's only natural.
Flutterby 84 Of course people can show interest (even if it's not polite) but that doesn't mean they have a RIGHT to know which I think is what most people are getting at. Colleen should dictate what gets shown on her channel, and if she wants it to be happy content then good for her.
It's not actually natural, you're projecting. I and many others find vlogging culture to present many ethical issues, including the ones being discussed, which is why I rarely ever watch them. I do enjoy Colleen's Vancouver vlogs, but that's because I live here and am interested in her LA perspective (aka I'm biased lol). But yeah, it's like she said, the West is a highly commercialized culture, even leading to us dehumanizing people for entertainment (among other things...). Luckily, we don't all see it that way and personally, I resent it.
i really respect how you dealt with the situation by only showing positivity. just because colleen didn't show her pain online after everything happened doesn't mean she's not hurting off the camera.

Part of being an adult is realizing what is and what isn't appropriate to talk about publicly. The older you get, the more you realize that your incredibly personal life doesn't have to be shared so publicly. It's called privacy and respect. Younger people don't understand this because they have yet to experience a marriage or children or a real private life and what comes along with having that constantly exposed especially when they don't want to. I can see it in your face Colleen when you are struggling thru something. It's something very familiar to me and I understand not wanting to share that part of you. Just know that you have a bit of an older crowd behind you that knows what you mean. Take care of you and the rest will fall into place. 💜
Cristina Quijada yes! I wish people would realize that while her job is (partly) to film her life, it's still her JOB. There are things I don't talk about at work because I isn't appropriate or it isn't anyone's business or I just plain don't want to. Colleen is certainly entitled to keep personal separate from professional, just like every other adult on the planet.

True. He is a grown man, and as a grown man, with his own career and life, he has the right to make his own choices. Personally, Ive seen a lot of people doing just with, click baiting, using the drama, throwing peoples names around, etc. I do think that is immature. I think it's the heart behind it. As far as I've seen, he's rarely, if at all, used her name. They've both been very separated from each other, and he's now talking HIS life, and his feelings. It's definitely different because it is this public platform, that yes, she can see if she chooses to, and all the fans on either side can attack the other side and complicate it, but he isn't aggressively calling anybody out. I now view them as two separate people, and they both are just living and communicating their separate lives. Though a part of that may be related to the other, I still don't think that's wrong. That's kind of how it is, due to the fact that they both were obviously huge parts of each others lives. We don't have the right to say how they should and shouldn't live their lives.

It gives me more respect for you, as I can imagine it is not always easy talking about deeply personal things online. I've been going through a lot of depression and anxiety related things for the last three years of my life. Therapy has changed my life. Went to several different people until I found the right fit. Life gets easier, but it always lingers. Haven't cut in over 8 months! Proud of myself for that, but it just proves that people can overcome sadness. Colleen, you are a strong, beautiful individual and a lot of people believe in you! You just gotta believe in yourself and believe that others in your life can get through hardships as well.

honestly I do not agree, I feel like he has his own channel, followers, and people as she has hers. I feel like what he wants to say on his channel is his choice, just like what she wants to say is her choice. I feel like he uses his channel for emotional support, she uses hers for positive content and funny comical things . so they have different reasons and motives for posting videos. I don't feel he was being vindictive in any way. everyone heals different. I've seen a lot of comments saying that she got over it quickly but honestly I think it only seems that way because when she makes videos, she is happy and she's not thinking about it. We don't know how she is when the cameras are off or when she's in therapy

Kirby Reyes most places in Canada stay light out really late in the summer, since they're pretty far north, even the places really close to the border (like Vancouver). If you head far enough north you get 24 hours of sunlight.
On the other hand, it gets dark super early in the winter 😂

I have never once thought her life was perfect by watching these vlogs because I know we don't see everything. If people are getting the wrong idea about life and that it's a perfect fairy tale, maybe they shouldn't watch if it will affect them that much.

Unfortunately, though, sometimes you have to keep pressing on and not wallow in your own crap. She has a Netflix show that she's working on and tours and shows that she's doing, and those are things she needs to focus on and not let the drama get in the way of. Yes, shit happens and life is not perfect, but if you just press on, you can still be happy and reach your goals and be successful. So how about don't try to bring her down with more drama and just encourage and support her. 💕
I think the more people seem "perfect", the more likely they're actually not. Seems to me she's running from her feelings, perhaps. She's burying herself in work, surrounding herself with friends and distracting herself with fun. It's so easy for everything to look great but when all that goes away...

I think some people need to realize that you are a grown adult, and that your life isn't a sitcom. You are able to choose what you talk about in your life on camera because it's YOUR life. Talking about difficult things/events in a public way might be cathartic for some (and is their choice), but it also breeds a one-sided perspective where others start to fill in the unsaid details because they feel like they have a right to know. I commend you for not only thinking about yourself, but also the other party involved. Just because your career involves entertaining the public and sharing your life doesn't mean that you should feel obligated to talk about something that isn't going to help you feel better/cope with the situation. And to the people that think otherwise, guilting or harassing someone for not speaking or showing that they are affected by an event that is upsetting and life-changing is immature.
