Can't believe I'm just subscribing to you and barely watching your vids. But damn bro fucking awesome videos. Like a movie lol. Badass narration and information to man. Keep it up man👍🏼👍🏼🎣
just found this channel and is by far the best kayak fishing channel I have ever seen. right from the beginning you had me hooked. love you guys keep up the good work
For the past 4 yrs my buddy and I have made yearly trips to PINS to fish for shark. Even got into Sharkathon 1 year. Sadly he moved to Pensacola, so I now make my yearly trips out there to fish for Shark and BTB Yaking. Love me some Corpus, been super good to me! THANKS for the video! Tight Lines!
Great video!!! I saw a few things at the beginning that I thought I would share as feedback in case you weren't aware of them. The low area between two waves in called the "Trench". That is the last place you want to be with your kayak sitting parallel to the waves. Placing your bow or stern as directly into the oncoming waves, and keeping it there, will help keep you from capsizing. Lowering your paddle deeper into the water to get a stronger "Dig" will also help when paddling in waves. Being that I have to paddle through breakwater in some of the saltwater spots I fish and through some mild (Class 2/3) whitewater for my favorite freshwater fishing spots I have used thigh straps on my Perception for over 20 years. They help when you need to shift the boat using your butt or legs and both hands are busy and one can be out of them with the flick of your legs if needed. These are things that have helped me over the years. Good luck in the New Year and please keep posting great videos.
+NSCA12 Awesome bro! Always appreciate info like this, thanks for taking the time to type this out. Question about the straps...who makes them and where can we find them. I see more and more folks using them. Thanks, looking forward to your reply :)
+Next Level Fishing - Kayak Fishing TV Glad to help bro. Austin Kayak has some quality stuff. You may want to call and tell them about your setup so they can suggest a set but if you would rather buy online one can't go wrong with these. Good luck, please keep posting and PADDLE ON!!! www.austinkayak.com/products/149/Seals-Kayak-Thigh-Straps-ACK-Logo.html?Shopping:%20ACK%20PLA&scid=scplp285138&gclid=CMLM4P3tlsoCFYEYHwodArgAjg
Nice video guys! These two MP rigs were known to hold some mystery fish also known as Godzila. They give slow ride for hours and can swallow rather big bait fish as a whole. By myself, I spend countless hours trying to bring it up (it was found to be impossible). Ended up with filming it on GoPro underwater by running the camera down the line with fish on. Turned out to be huge stingray. No groupers, no huge cobes just a silly always hungry ray! Each time I get that sucker on a line I just cut it off to save time for quality fish (typically, 10-15 minutes is enough to recognize my old friend)
I love the editing and the voice over. i like that you capture our attention and make us more and more interested. keep up the good work won't be long for Next Level Fishing to become Kings of South Texas.
Thanks Sonya, lots of great unsung kayak anglers of the Texas gulf, by no means are we trying to be better then anyone...we are simply just doing what we love!
Great video mate it felt like I was there, good editing and didn’t completely leave the drag sound out A+ I’m a kayak angler from Australia and it is hard battaling the elements for those full days kayak fishing.
I enjoyed the video ....... Shows that feature real situation occurances ...... And your editing of the video made a bad day of fishing a "dramatic journey" !!
Awesome video guys, me and a friend are looking to go Kayak fishing down there next week. Any tips on best platforms to go to or closest to shore? Would appreciate any advice, thanks!
Lee Norris of TallyYakkers & Patricia D of Sticky Fish are some good people. Lee was telling me about you guys the other day. I've been a subscriber for a while now. I love all of you guys videos. I can tell there is a lot of work that goes into each one. I try to keep mine up to that standard as well and its not easy. Keep it up guys!
Nothing would be cooler to catch my first King out there with you Bro! I was planning on going in 2020, but you already know how that played out. I think I have all my gear ready to go....finally! I’ll definitely be going to those rigs in 2021. Hopefully you are out there to give some guidance and be my on water mentor. I’ve been doing my homework and time to pay some dues! 💯
Nice video! Hey can you tell me what kind of ocean kayak that is and what size paddle your using with it. I just got a used OK Prowler Big game and need to get a paddle. Thanks
bro idk why you have so many haters. you put a disclaimer at the beginning of the video saying how dangerous it is, and people don’t understand. you keep up the good work. you should have more subscribers. i would love to see other people actually try to do this instead of talking all of that shit.
I know this is an old video. Have to ask a few questions. I fish the CA coast. Here we do not have Goliath Groupers; but they are in the gulf. Having caught one off Baja a few years ago (around 300lbs) I can tell you it was much like that. Dead weight to pull up. strong straight down pull that lasted hours. Was it really 6 hours?
They are definitely worth 400 bucks. Those kayaks takes the abuse! Check all hatches before taking them on the water though, sometimes the assembly is loose and needs a little tightening.
+sakimano We use rope for positioning and tie a connection to the rigs. The rope was cut for emergency to assist Reuben fighting the big fish. The line was tied to the kayak so it was fully recovered by bringing in the line. So was the piece connected to the pillar.

Depends on the paddler, some paddle stronger and faster then others. So these rigs range anywhere from 1-5 miles depending on location. Round trip we typically paddle 15-20 miles total. It's dangerous though. We don't recommend doing this until you have become an endurance paddler and have a partner. Very easy for things to go south...dehydration, powerful currents, waves, wind, tangles..you name it, it can happen. Tight lines sir, if you have any questions feel free to ask.
Hey man great video, I was just thinking of buying a fishing kayak and I was looking at the Malibu stealth 14, I was just wondering what your thoughts where on this kayak and if you could please give me some feedback, cheers 👍🏼
+Aggey97 The Malibu Stealth 14 is a fantastic kayak! She will be predominantly used for inshore flats fishing, although can handle offshore just fine. The X-13 is Malibu's offshore kayak which I'm expecting to have here very soon. So a little more on the Stealth 14...She is pretty light for her size so she was unexpectedly fast when I first paddled her. At 62Lbs, 14'4" length, 33" wide, and a 12" depth those are pretty solid dimensions for such a low weight value. Not many kayak companies can do that from what I've seen. Plenty of compartment space, you don't really need to do much to it other then installing a RUDDER! She is a long girl and has a super aggressive keel which makes her track very well but is a pain to turn so the rudder will help tremendously. 'Crack of Dawn' sells an easy rudder kit for this model. I really can't complain about the kayak, Malibu just introduced a new and improved gator hatch ( Front hatch ) and they have made some substantial improvements on the design. I know Malibu has been a little under the radar in the past few years but look for Malibu to play ball here VERY SOON ;) Out of a 1-5 scale I would rate it: Speed - 3 ( 2.7 - 3 mph avg ) Stability - 5 ( you can literally walk around on the kayak and has a standing platform ) Weight - 4 ( She is a wide kayak at 33" but great weight at 62lbs ) Design - 4 ( This kayak is extremely well designed but does lack a few modern non essential features, the molding has a passing quality and on par with regulations only passed by 'sport kayaking' in extreme white water rivers ) Comfort - 5 ( You can ride all day on this thing ) Storage - 5 ( huge hatches, plus a live well! ) Value - 3 ( I think the price is fantastic but I would like to see more features added while still holding the price point ) I hope that helps, stay tuned as Chris Castro will be rocking Malibu this year. hey I think it looks fun as hell but I have 2 questions , why fish for something if you gotta hand the rod off and why fish from a kayak if you gotta watch for waves ,,,,,,,,, I get the term extreme but it looks more like a chores from a kayak , anyways good luck
Okay I did think that was a pretty cool video, all the way to the end, and then it lost everything cool it had going for it. You guys have a really cool presentation of your videos. Just don't make them suck. Like this one.
Next Level Fishing - Kayak Fishing TV I'm glad you responded. I wanted to say that after reading through a lot of the comments before mine and your responses to them, I've come to change my initial 'passing of judgement' (lol) on you guys and your cinematography efforts. Therefore: You guys are pretty smart. I see what you've done & what you're doing, and again, pretty 'brain-ey'. One, or maybe even the lot of you, is a forward thinker. Meaning around 95% your videos (you say, and I've no reason to doubt you) do not end in the way I labeled as "uncool". Having learned that you intentionally upload an "uncool" video as such every now and then perhaps merely to enable viewers to see, or experience, the 'lame' periods you gents have to go through regularly to catch the big ones, the "Kings", thus making all your 'cool' & entertaining videos. Gotta take the bad with the good, so to speak. I think, anyway... So, there it is then...Thanks again, APex
Triston Witt just depends on the angler and kayak. 30 min to 2 hours depend also on rig distance. This is an old video of ours. We just released a kingfish video that has much more useful information
Ocean kayak fishing looks like such a thrills but I'm nowhere near the ocean so I will stick with my lake. I wonder though, why aren't these guys using hobies, that is what I am using and I wouldn't do it any other way.
+UTube Uni Sometimes the reward of knowing that you did it the hard way is more satisfying then taking the easy way out. Also the majority of people out there fishing from kayaks are doing it tethered to a budget and showing people it can be done with a simple heritage kayak or just any paddle kayak I think motivates people instead of leaving them day dreaming. I love a Hobie PA and the ease of use but I would not trade it for my Vibe Sea Ghost 130.
BIGYaker TV Absolutely brotha, don't get me wrong. I'm not against Hobie one bit, it's not in my blood to hate anything in this industry. This sport is my passion...We are looking into the Viking Kayaks$1200-$1800 is our budget for kayaks and we see these as perfect fits for the type of environment we are about to face.
BIGYaker TV Oh and about the Heritage kayak...lol I had to do lots of corrections to make it BTB ready, aside from that. She is fast, and her wide hips make her pretty darn stable. :)
'Another mystery fish' I 100% guarantee that that was a Goliath grouper, TONNES of those things hang out at them towers. That thing was hardly fighting, and was just weight. If it was a shark or something, it would be taking line.
Next Level Fishing - Kayak Fishing TV I've heard of people just using straight up rope with a hook on the end and hand lining it to catch them. It apparently works well.

Jason Alati hehe, all good Jason. Comes with the territory brotha. We have plenty of newer videos of us landing plenty of epic fish.
What channel to yakers usually get on on the hand marine radio?
16/9 is emergency Coast Guard in case anyone reading needs to hear that. The Texas kayak community defaults to channel #69 for open communication.

Dann Diaz 5 hours and 47 minutes of exchanges. We are very under geared on this episode, thus being hard to tell the species.
How far is the oil rig? How to get to it? Will go 1st time on my ski first.
Is that Heritage kayak any good? thinking of buying one but I want to know if they are worth the $400
They are definitely worth 400 bucks. Those kayaks takes the abuse! Check all hatches before taking them on the water though, sometimes the assembly is loose and needs a little tightening.
with that said, the Heritage is not designed for offshore....It did fine but not recommended.
NOOooOOOOO when you lose a fish and never find out what it was that feeling sucks. Awesome video btw.
Wow, I wonder what that was. Thanks for the video.
What was the blue rope he cut and left in the ocean?
+sakimano We use rope for positioning and tie a connection to the rigs. The rope was cut for emergency to assist Reuben fighting the big fish. The line was tied to the kayak so it was fully recovered by bringing in the line. So was the piece connected to the pillar.

Depends on the paddler, some paddle stronger and faster then others. So these rigs range anywhere from 1-5 miles depending on location. Round trip we typically paddle 15-20 miles total. Out of a 1-5 scale I would rate it:
Speed - 3 ( 2.7 - 3 mph avg )
Stability - 5 ( you can literally walk around on the kayak and has a standing platform )
Weight - 4 ( She is a wide kayak at 33" but great weight at 62lbs )
Design - 4 ( This kayak is extremely well designed but does lack a few modern non essential features, the molding has a passing quality and on par with regulations only passed by 'sport kayaking' in extreme white water rivers )
Comfort - 5 ( You can ride all day on this thing )
Storage - 5 ( huge hatches, plus a live well! )
Value - 3 ( I think the price is fantastic but I would like to see more features added while still holding the price point )
I hope that helps, stay tuned as Chris Castro will be rocking Malibu this year. Reuben will be rocking Vibe and Viking.

Nice job! Keep after it and you'll find them on fire one of these times.
:) yes sir, in due time.
what kayak are you using man??
Sebastian Cano lol one of our older videos...Heritage 120
Ocean kayak fishing looks like such a thrills but I'm nowhere near the ocean so I will stick with my lake. I wonder though, why aren't these guys using hobies, that is what I am using and I wouldn't do it any other way.
+UTube Uni We are just stubborn purist.
+Next Level Fishing - Kayak Fishing TV don't knock Hobies. Nice video man.
BIGYaker TV
Absolutely brotha, don't get me wrong. I'm not against Hobie one bit, it's not in my blood to hate anything in this industry. This sport is my passion...We are looking into the Viking Kayaks$1200-$1800 is our budget for kayaks and we see these as perfect fits for the type of environment we are about to face.
BIGYaker TV
Oh and about the Heritage kayak...lol I had to do lots of corrections to make it BTB ready, aside from that. She is fast, and her wide hips make her pretty darn stable. :)
this really sounds like a monster ray
Sick video
That had blanket stingray all over it.
+volkswatson :)
Grouper?
nice fight
what rod was that?
+Socal Fisher An Abu Garcia 5 series
Excellent! Extreme and Exciting! Watch with caution this isn't for old men!
Lol hey we know some pretty rockin old guys still slaying dragons on the water ;)
I can't believe the oil giants get to leave their abandoned rigs in place. Lets all just be allowed to leave our garbage wherever we want.
They are like vertical reefs. That is why they hold so many fish and coral. Go diving and you will see how much they benefit the gulf eco system.
'Another mystery fish' I 100% guarantee that that was a Goliath grouper, TONNES of those things hang out at them towers. That thing was hardly fighting, and was just weight. If it was a shark or something, it would be taking line.
+Retz Hopefully with our new gear this year, we can stand a fighting chance if it happens again.
Next Level Fishing - Kayak Fishing TV I've heard of people just using straight up rope with a hook on the end and hand lining it to catch them. It apparently works well.
we don't have Goliath grouper that close to shore in only 50ft of water in tx.
So you think Kent, that's as far as I go on that though lol.
Bro, I go diving all the time offshore. I've seen gag groupers, but never a goliath.
Yee texas is mostly all heat born and raised in texas
Seemed like it was a snag.
whats with the beeping noise?
+Amtrak Fan #164 the rigs are required to sound off due to regulations especially at night. Helps ships hear for them.
Nice video.
