Quite a fan of these changes actually - took them a LONG time to improve the app modeller to be more convenient instead of just doing elements one at a time for PoC's and such. Nice vid mate
@DaveTheRPAGuy we have made changes in how the match index works so if you set a match index of 1 the search for the element will stop when it finds the first actual element matching, the framework default is to find all matching elements and we would return the one matching the provided index. Depending on your system this can be either a marginal performance boost or a mindblowing one!
Thanks for giving us a look into the new app modeller. I was wondering what it looked like and the benefits it had to offer. It’s interesting. And between you and me (and the whole world), when SS&C shows us that they work on improving stuff, it’s enough to make me happy, whatever it is. 😉
Great stuff!! Please keep adding to this once the Beta is released as a stabilised version and if there are any changes to it. Also could you kindly help with why exactly is UIA slower than AA. Let us know if you can make a post on the different modes on the community or LinkedIn as there's nothing much out there that helps
I don't know for sure. I have wondered the same thing. But I think it's because it turns out that Blue Prism never actually implemented the same logic of stopping the search when the first matching element is found using Match Index 1. Blue Prism must have implemented this in AA but just not in UIA. However, they said they are putting this logic into UIA in 7.4 so that it should become much faster when using Match Index.
I don't know of a video on that, and I haven't made one myself for that. It's a tough topic. I do have some ideas as of course I've run into the same issue, but I largely haven't really solved it either. I'll add this to my list and will think about it. I should mention that at least in Blue Prism's current form/version, the "easiest" way to handle it is by using something like C TWO (RPA Supervisor) to orchestrate the automations so that sessions can be started and stopped as needed based on priority and such. There is a cost with this, but it is worth it especially as you scale up. I haven't used Blue Prism Director yet, but theoretically it can or will in the future be able to do something similar.
I think it could use some improvements, but it looks fairly nice to me. When I first saw this design years ago when Blue Prism started using it in their web components such as Hub and Interact, I wasn't a big fan of it, but it seems normal to me now.

@@djdiflux Thanks! Yeah I would have liked to see the changes much sooner too. Better late than never.
Great video Dave, you are gonna love some of the changes in 7.4... UIA - Faster! Browser mode - RPA Challange in 2.6s!
UIA is faster in 7.4?!? Don't you dare get my hopes up like that! That would legitimately be a very solid update. Is it truthfully true true?

@@ToughGuy20892009 Noice! Did you add in Match Reverse to UIA too? That is amazing for popup windows and stuff.

Dave - is there a video on HOW to get the most out of my VM's ? I have 6 VM and 60 Automations. I want to better utilize these VM's.

Hi Dave, have you covered anything on API in Blueprism?
