I guess there are tapes with these recordings, laying around somewhere. It would make total sense if these two songs would be officially released as bonus tracks for Be Forewarned reissue or as a 7 inch.
It's been a while since I've watched / listened to this recording of Feeling of Dread and I need to talk about how much I enjoyed Joe's drumming here. In early Death Row performances and on the first Place of Skulls LP, the song has a more steady beat during the verses. Yet here, he accentuates the verses by slowing down in the first part of the verse and it adds so much to the dynamics of the song. I absolutely prefer the way it's performed here, and I wish the song made it on to Be Forewarned. For all intents and purposes, I consider it to be Pentagram's creative peak, with the best drumming and guitar performances on any of their albums.
'Gonna be beer, stimulants and weed all night long with PENTAGRAM playing all the time ! 3 vinyls and 3 CDs I own and each and every one is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!!!
You ever listen to the Bedemon album child of darkness? And you'd probably dig Witchfinder General if you've never listened to them. Death penalty and Friends of hell are fucking genius.
I remember hearing this (Feeling Of Dread) song on Pentagram Archives myspace and if I remember correct that version was studio quality. It had Bobby on vocals. Just wondering why this wasn't released on Be Forewarned, it's a killer song.
Bobby is wearing a Peaceville Vol 4 T-shirt. The compilation CD featured Sign of the Wolf and was released just before Peaceville reissued Pentagrams debut album as Relentless.
There are a few versions of feelings of dread around, on Victor's first solo album and the first Place of Skulls album.....but they don't have the same impact without Bobby's vocals.
Terry Floyd Yeah, I'm aware. I agree about Bobby's vocals, but there's a live version on youtube (you've probably seen it) by Death Row circa 2010. Might be because it's a relatively recent clip, but to me it has more impact than (at least) the PoS and Victor's solo versions.
It's a shame that reunion didn't last longer, but I'm glad Victor is back in Pentagram. Wonder if we'll ever get these studio versions (if they got further than this stage).
Great band. Joe Hasselvander amazing, tight drummer.
Yeah. Hasselvander is the hero of Review your choices y Sub-basement. A great musician

In response to your other comment, it's a shame they weren't on the album (even as bonus tracks, or on the reissue).

I have seen it, and it is a powerful version.
