This music of this pas de deux is by Daniel Auber. Musicians tend to have less of an issue with the music itself...rather, they LOATHE the way they are required to perform it for today's dancers: horribly slow, musically incorrect tempi are preferred, making the musicians sound like they took Valium before the performance. I just watched 2 performances of Ratmansky's reconstruction of Petipa's Harlequinade for 2 different companies - the premiere by ABT at the Met, and the Australian Ballet at the Sydney Opera House. The Sydney orchestra was abysmally slow and the poor musicians were clearly struggling in parts with having to play to such tedious tempi. The Met orchestra performed Riccardo Drigo's score with correct tempi - everything came alive, and the orchestra was really enjoying itself.

Смехотворный комментарий. Начиная с " танцора" вместо "танцовщика" и заканчивая " обедненным рисунком движения" при том, что танцуется самый сложный текст вариации.
And what Ballet school are you training at?.or are you just jealous or nasty.that weighty dancer has the perfect frame. Lovley performance and it sound like the applause coming from the audience would disagree with you.
Good Lord, what on earth are you going on about?! This is frickin’ ballet, not astrophysics. I detest this pas de deux, but even that doesn’t prevent me from seeing how gorgeous these dancers are.

I feel sorry for the musicians in the orchestra. Playing all this lousy ballet music for a ballet competition must be a tedious, crashing bore.
