Thank you for this video! I found your video by looking for information on barley. its interesting. You also said you could help with questions about it. Wheat is currently about 3 times the cost of barley from a farming point of view. I notice this because I use black oil sunflower seeds and barley for my poultry. This made me notice barley has huge potential for lowering the grocery budget. This prompted me to think that I could use the 40 or 50 lb bags of barley seed also in soup. But the bagged seed barley looks different than pearl and deshelled barley. So how do I convert it? If you can help me with this in information it could also save you and others money. Right now people are seeing grocery store prices go up. Farm seed is safe to use. its the same thing you are using from the store anyway but just the store stuff uses extra steps and different packaging. Its also cheaper to use the mill sold farm versions of stuff like wheat, barley and sunflower seeds than a grocery store brand anyway. So ... i want to figure out how to convert the barley seed into a usable form to put in soups? (I still use it in the seed form for animals like poultry and its fine for them. But for soups barley can lower cost and add volume to the soup for feeding more family members.) Thanks.
Are you confusing hulless with hulled? Hull-less barley is a completely different species of Barley from hulled and pearled which are of the same species.
Barley is healthier than pasta even it has carbohydrates.. Pasta doesn't have fiber as the barley hulled and the difference is that pasta makes u full but u are hungrier more and the barley you are filled but you then won't be hungry for some hours
