What an awesome old camper! I can’t wait to see this thing all cleaned up! Something about an old mid 70s vehicle just has that nostalgia about it! I bet the smell of that thing is instant time warp to the past!
I was just thinking to myself, man the only vehicle Brian and/or his family don’t have is a mid 70’s Dodge camper conversion. Guess I was wrong. 😂 In all seriousness though, this is so cool. Total time capsule! Can’t wait to see if it makes it to its destination.
@6:55 There's an interesting modification behind you. The mini-blind privacy shade. How cool is that to see what your grandparents did to make this unit their own. My family had a 1969'ish Tear Drop 10' cab-over camper way back in 1969 so I'm a vintage nostalgic consumer of this kind of video, just saying.
Time capsule. I always thought the Dodge motorhome packages came with the 440 V8 but maybe they changed to a smaller powerplant after the mid 70's gas crisis. Well kept mechanically as well as cosmetically. Nice job getting it running.
@3:40 I've not seen carpet on a ceiling before in a motorhome that was stock, aftermarket anything goes, but stock? Crazy man, crazy. Edit: ...and a plush covered facia on the Dometic. Crazier yet!
I cannot believe what amazing shape that thing is in! Great job to your family for keeping stored inside like that!
Yes, I was surprised myself. I remember it from when I was a kid (1982-83) and it looks basically the same now.

You and me both! Stay tuned this Friday when we attempt to drive it from Central KY to middle TN.
That thing is TOO GOOD!!! Wow, I’m shocked. Most are absolutely beat and trashed. Very cool
Yep, it's got a lot of cool going on.

LOL, yeah we have stuff shoved into 5 counties and 2 states. Wait till we get to the tractors - that'll be a whole 'nother ball of yarn.

Only the Dodge motorhomes that were built on full sized HD truck chassis used a 440. Not the van based Class C ones. But they did make TONS of those!
@@edwardpate6128 Thanks for the clarification.
Thanks!!!
I learned something here too. Thanks Edward!!
Very nice condition! Looking forward to future videos.
Stay tuned this Friday to see us try to drive it home - Interstate and all.
