So sorry the poor little guy missed out on all the fun. Hope he's feeling better! Beautiful gifts from such thoughtful people. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas ❤
Thank you, Charlie is now well and back to normal now we are home. It was so sad to see a 3 year old sapped of energy! I am so lucky that I have friends as kind as Trish and Adam, they were wonderful gifts. May I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas as well 😊🎄🧵

I love how you used the red velvet! Beautiful as always! I am so sorry your little one is not feeling well. Praying he is all better soon. Merry Christmas Carole! I loved seeing your boxes of love! You deserve it! ❤
Hi Diann, little Charlie is now back to his cheeky self thank goodness but now Chris has Covid. Honestly all these germs floating around 🤣. Hope you and your hubby are well and you have a very Merry Christmas 🎄😊🍓
Red is such a good color for you and your daughter. Thank you for the train ride-I have never seen anything like it😯 Praying for your little grandson to be feeling well soon and wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas🎄
Thank you so much Bonnie. My Grandson is now well and back to his cheeky self thank goodness, thank you for your prayers. I am glad you enjoyed the train footage, it is amazing when you think about the engineering. Merry Christmas to you and yours as well 🎄😊
Wishing you a very happy Christmas and a healthy New Year. I’ve loved your vlogs since I discovered then in the summer. Come back in the New Year with more inspiration.
Thank you so much Ann, that is such a kind comment and really appreciated 🥰. I hope I will continue to earn your views in 2024, I am always sewing so I know there will be content! Have a wonderful Christmas 😊🎄🧵
I used that same McCall's pattern to make a nightie. Cut it out one size larger. I was all packed and ready to go to the airport for the yearly sibling vaca away and I wanted a nightie to lounge around on a patio in the Airbnb in the evenings or in front of the fire. We were going for 10 days to wine in Ontario. I had two hours to leaving for the airport. ...I had to take my mind off the "flying" part. This "dress" toke less than two hours to cut sew and pack. I've made it several times since. Just upsize it once and it's very comfy. Long sleeves, short sleeves... Whatever it always works.
I can well believe you made that dress in a couple of hours, it is such a super quick and simple make and yet with the right fabric looks amazing. I had never thought of using it for a Nightie. I have made it as a tunic, dress, Summer dress and Winter and love everyone. What I have never done is the leggings 🤣. Merry Christmas and thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment 🎄😘🧵
What a shame for your little grandson. They bounce back at that age, so, I'm sure he will be fine in time for the big fella to drop down the chimney. Thankyou Carole for your commitment to your channel and entertaining all your subscibers in the last year. Merry Christmas to you and yours and I hope you have a blessed day.
Thanks Annette. He has indeed bounced back now we are home! As you say, in the nick of time before the big day 🎅🏼. I really appreciate all your lovely comments about my channel, that is so kind. Merry Christmas! 🎄😊🧵x
Hi Carole! I have not forgotten you. As far as a gift! It is so wonderful to receive gifts. What sucks is not having the find finances when you like them.😢 Go Girl. you dance on with your beautiful self.😅😅😅 You received beautiful gifts! Yes, Adam is going to be famous. He is a sweetheart! Carole, trust me, I know what it's like to travel with children because I just traveling with my four-year-old for 3 days stuck in the airport.😮😢😅 Merry Christmas to you! ✝️ That tunnel is wild!
Ha ha so funny, don't worry about gifts 🎄🤣. Adam's items we hold now will be worth so much in a few years I'm sure of that, we will say "oh that is an original Adam" 😂😂. Kids eh? Now he is home Charlie is fine, very pleased as he is better for Christmas but such bad timing for our trip! Now Chris is unwell with Covid so plans for Christmas have changed. Honestly, can't people keep germs to themselves ?! 🤣🤧. Wishing you and your beautiful family a very Merry Christmas 🎄😊❤️x
Merry Christmas Carole! So sad that your grandson is not well, I hope he's better in time for Christmas!! I think that train is one of the coolest things I've ever seen! I doubt we have those here in the US. Your makes are gorgeous as always!! I love the little modeling dance! What sweet sewing friends you have! Thank you for sharing🎄💖-Mary
Hello Mary! Thankfully little Charlie is now well and just in time for Christmas. The Eurotunnel makes it so easy to cross the channel and so much quicker than any other method, I am glad you enjoyed my footage of it! Thanks so much for your kind comments and Merry Christmas! 🎄😊🧵
Poor little fella, he looks like he feels so bad, how sad that he was sick for the trip. I hope he feels better soon. That red dress, Carole! That’s your color for sure! I don’t think I have that pattern, I’ll have to look. I love that top also, I’m jealous of your makes, I’ve been sewing for others and have not made myself anything. I don’t think that I would be able to drive into a box to travel underwater for two hours, for anything. Too scary. Anyway, I applaud your bravery. You got a jackpot full of goodies from Trish and Adam, didn’t you? They are so generous. Have a wonderful Christmas holiday, I pray that your family is healthy . 💃🏽
Hi Sue, luckily Charlie is now well because we are home of course 🤣. Such a shame but he has many years ahead of him to make up for it! Red is my colour as I am a 'Winter' I am just not brave enough to wear it that often. Trish and Adam are just the best aren't they, I just love this sewing community 🥰. You did make me laugh about your comment about the Eurotunnel, us Brits will do anything to escape our Country 🤣. Merry Christmas and thanks so much for your comment! 🎄😊🧵
A simple dress can be styled with jewelry or scarves to change up the look. You look stellar in it! Thanks for my Mickey fix. The park looked so festive. Hope the little fella gets better soon. Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas to you Susan! I will be wearing the red dress today with something to jazz it up. Charlie is now fit and well and in the nick of time for Christmas. Disney was lovely but not quite as festive as before I gather, cut backs I suppose. It was magical though as always 🥰. Have a wonderful time today and thanks for watching 🎄🧵😊
Many of us oldsters may remember the tunnel referred to initially as the Chunnel. Eurotunnel is certainly a better name! Carole, you look terrific in the red velvety dress. Anyone will confirm! You have a beautiful family. Merry Christmas from the Missouri Ozarks! - Kelly
I have never heard the term Chunnel but that is hilarious! The tunnel is an experience and a super quick way to get to France and beyond for us Brits. Thank you so much for the lovely comment on my Red Dess, it is such a comfy piece of fabric as my daughter confirmed. It will be worn on Christmas day I think. Merry Christmas to you and your family and thanks for watching🎄😊🧵
Hi Carole, the Red velvet dress is so pretty 🤩. So sad that your grandson was sick during the trip, I hope he feels better to enjoy Christmas 🎅. Merry Christmas to you and your family. 🥰🥰🥰
Thank you very much Karen. Little Charlie is now back to his cheeky self and in time for Christmas thank you 👏🏼🎅🏼🎄. Thanks so much for always watching and I hope you have a wonderful time too 😘❤️🎄
Merry Christmas to you too Agata and your lovely family. Sewing friends are what I have searched for all my life and now I have some 🥰. Charlie is now well thank goodness but Chris now has Covid so all plans for Christmas have been spoilt!! Hope you all stay well over there and looking forward to our collab in 2024. 🥰🎄🧵xx
Hey Carole! So glad you got a holiday dress out of that red velvet. Looks great on you. Don't need to size up - the size you used is perfect. Was hoping you'd do an unboxing of your new sewing machine today. Excitedly awaiting the reveal your new toy!!! Had to look up the route from (Kent) England to France on Google Maps after your last video to check out the distance. So I'm happy that you included video of the chunnel and how that works this week. Fascinating!!! So sorry to hear your little gran got sick. Poor little sweetie!!! Hope he's on the mend and will be in perfect health by Christmas day. Got all my microwave oven and coaster sets finished and wrapped. On to make batches of coffee cake for the neighbors to bake at will (Yes, they are unbaked when given. Baking instructions included.). Used to be a holiday tradition to eat when my kids were little. Makes the house smell heavenly and cinnamon-y, and adds to the celebration of the holidays. My neighbors really love getting them. 😋 Wish you were one of my neighbors. 😉 Have a very happy Christmas and blessed New Year!!! Holiday hugs, Dori 🎄
Thanks Dori, I really thought I would only be able to get a top out of the Red remains so I was very happy with a dress. Katie was right, it is a really comfortable piece of fabric. I still haven't opened my machine, I will on Christmas day but as I am cooking I won't get chance to play on it until the following week I think, I have been so good haven't I?! Charlie is now well and bouncing around as normal which is so good as I really wanted him well for Christmas. I really need to come and live near you to be one of your neighbours, they get treated so well by you! Coasters and now Cake??!?! I think you would be very disappointed in our road though, if we get a card from our neighbours we think ourselves lucky 🤣. Have a wonderful Christmas my online pal, I have loved chatting with you this year. Sending holiday hugs back to you 🎄💗😘xx
I’m so sorry about your grandson being poorly! The poor little guy! I know the smallies go down so quickly, but hopefully he bounced back quickly too?? Happy new year Carole and I’ve been enjoying your recent videos!!! Lucky you with a new machineb
Hi Rachael, thanks so much for your comment. Yes, children being as they are, literally the minute he landed on UK soil the little one improved!! At least he was better for Christmas and my other Grandson didn't get it. I am enjoying my new machine but I am very scared using it 😆. Happy New Year to you too 😊💚
Love the red dress. As usual, you did a beautiful job. What wonderful friends you have in Trish and Adam. I hate it for your little grandson that he was ill during your trip. Hope he feels better real soon. Thank you for sharing your family. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thanks Carol, oh it was such a shame about Charlie but he has recovered now thank goodness. I do have some wonderful friends and it is all thanks to Jen starting the hashtag, I would never have had the nerve without them! Merry Christmas! 🎄😊🧵
I’m so glad you liked your box of goodies, as I say it’s just a box of the little things I’ve been putting to one side for each of you. I did think that pattern would be good for Chris and the boys, I’m always worried you all will have the patterns I sent as you all have such a good archive of them hehe, the Tilly and the buttons was a must because it was a paper copy indie pattern hehe
I knew you had sent me that T&TB pattern on purpose! I have done a few Indies as you know but never one of those, I will try it....I promise! Thanks again for those gifts, I feel very honoured that you thought of me. Merry Christmas my treasured friend 🎄😊🧵xxx
So sorry for your grandson, hope he is now on the mend. Lovely makes as usual. Great gifts from kind friends. Wishing you a very Happy Christmas to you and your family x
Thank you Lorraine, he is now more or less recovered thank goodness. I think being back helped him as it was so cold over there. May I wish you a Merry Christmas too to you and yours 🧵😊🎄
Carole-I do pray the little one is on the mend. Prayers for him. Your makes are adorable as usual. So nice that you got some lovely surprise gifts. Merry Christmas to you and yours. 🥰❤🙏🙏
Thank you Theresa, he has indeed recovered now we are back thank goodness, that is very kind of you to send prayers. They were just wonderful gifts weren't they, I hope you too receive some this Christmas time. Merry Christmas! 🎄😊🧵
I'm so glad your made that cute dress out of the rest of the red fabric. And the Mickey ears are so cute! Those are the ones your daughter made, right? I'm so sorry your little guy was poorly for the trip. He looks like he was still able to have some fun, but what a worry! I hope he gets back to normal super-quickly!
Thanks Lara! Little Charlie has bounced back and now returned to his cheeky 3 year old self thank goodness. Hubby is now sick with Covid though can you believe 🤣. We did buy some Disney ears and Katie made some as well so there was a mixture. The sequin ones were bought, she didn't get on well sewing that 🤣. Hope you have a very Merry Christmas with a lot of beautiful family music I expect. 🎄😊xx
I just made a dress for my toddler using green panne velvet and the only thing it has going on is a ruffle at the bottom. The same as your red dress though- I think the fabric makes it very festive!
I think you are right, it is only at this time of year we wear Velvety fabric really isn't it. Your toddler must look so adorable in the green dress, well done. Thanks so much for your comment and Merry Christmas! 🎄😊🧵
Hi Carole! What lovely presents!! Yes, it feels good to give but it's fun to receive, too!! Did it ever look chilly in France! Brrrr... Poor little guy... Being down sick is no fun at any time but to be sick while on holiday? That's too bad. Hope he's feeling much better by now. And I hope you all will have a very Merry Christmas!!
Hi Deb, oh my goodness it was SOOO chilly in Disney. It wasn't meant to be but we were stuck in some kind of freezing cloud so it was misty a lot of the time with feels like temperatures of -2c. Luckily Charlie has now recovered as we are back which is typical but I doubt the chilly air helped him to be honest. Chris now has Covid sadly so Christmas plans are abolished. My parents were due to come but we just can't risk it. Way too many germs floating around at the moment, I do hope you and William are well. Have a very Merry Christmas and I hope that Bella gets very spoilt! 🥰🎄🧵💗
Oh no! Chris is down sick now? I hope he's feeling better soon and that it's NOT one of the COVID strains that lingers on for weeks. I know several people over here who have been down with that one. We are doing well here. We've had a wonderful week of celebrations including lunches out with family and good friends; a lovely anniversary dinner out; and a short trip for our anniversary. It has been a great week of festivities! And now we're settling in for a quiet holiday week-end at home. Take care now! And try to enjoy the Christmas holiday as much as you can!!
@@DebsWay oh Deb that sounds like you've had a fantastic week! Happy Anniversary ❤️. Chris is already getting over his symptoms but we can't risk my elderly parents getting anything, I'm so fed up but what will be will be. Have a super time together and take care! Xxx
I love your shows Carole. Thank you for sharing always, thank you. Please tell me - you store your patterns numerically - how do you ever find specific patterns? I would start looking and never leave again because I will just enjoy each pattern as I get to it, again and again. I store mine in skirts, jackets, dresses etc. I hope Mr 3 year old is much better. Have a wonderful Christmas and holiday season. Looking forward to many more visits with you. Xxx
Hi Sally, thanks so much for your kind comments. I keep my patterns the same was as Jen. The pattern covers are all sorted into files into categories and the pattern pieces are in plain envelopes with the instructions. When I want a pattern I browse through my files and then go searching for the number, honestly it is the best system!! I found that the pattern covers just get too ragged otherwise with all the sorting through, this way they stay in good condition. Charlie is so much better thank you and just in the nick of time for Christmas. These kids bounce back so quickly don't they. Wishing you and your family a very Merry Christmas too and thank you so much for your loyalty to my channel 😊🎄
@@socarole66 Hi Carole, thank you for explaining (again 😂😂) I do remember now. I might have to try that method because it is a mission when I want a pattern - start with good intentions of only pulling THAT one pattern but of course, then go down another rabbit hole reminiscing about each other pattern and on it goes 😂😂. Merry Christmas Carole, to you and your loved ones. See you again in the next video. Much love xxx
Well I was totally inspired when I saw you wearing M7122 the other day and made one. I’d previously made the tunic with this pattern years ago and had forgotten how well cut it is. I now have the perfect holiday season dress made in no time with no drama and no shopping! I love your red velvet one it’s just a classic thanks for the inspiration Happy Christmas and a happy new year. ❤
That McCalls pattern is so quick and simple isn't it and I am so glad you had success with it. As you say, I think it is the pattern drafting of it, such a nice shape. I do hope you have a very Merry Christmas as well and thanks so much for watching at such a busy time! 🎄😊🧵
I love the red dress on you!! Such great gifts from Trish and Adam. So sad that the little one wasn’t feeling well on the trip. 😢 It looked colder in France that it was here. How is that possible? 😂 xx 💞
Oh Izzy, it was SOOOO cold! I think it was because we were basically in a freezing cloud for 3 days!! The temperatures should have been 10c but instead they were 1c with a feels like of -2. That didn't help poor Charlie at all but he is now better thank goodness. Chris now has Covid though so all plans for Christmas altered. Sadly we cannot risk my parents coming, way too many germs around at the moment! I do hope you get some snow soon, I need photos!!! Have a wonderful Christmas 💗🎄🎅🏼xxx
@@socarole66 Oh no - how is Chris doing? I’m so happy little Charlie is feeling better. It’s supposed to be 5 degrees on Christmas day, not sure what is going on here. There is literally no snow on the ground right now!! But I’ll be sure to film if we get any 😂
Lovely Christmas dress Carole. It looks great on you. Just reading the pattern and it’s in 2 size bands. What size did you make and how did that compare to your normal sizing? I’m just trying to see which size band I’m in. Thanks very much. And have a lovely Christmas 🤗
Thanks so much Jan! For the McCalls dress I made a size small which is listed as 8-10. I would say it is more like an 8 (I am really a 10) , the bust area is now quite tight on me though so next time I may grade up just in that area as the shoulders and hips etc fit well. I am not sure if that helps at all but it is better to cut larger then adjust isn't it! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas too and thanks for your loyalty to my channel 😊🎄
@@socarole66 thank you for that Carole. That’s very helpful. I’ll definitely size up I think. Thank you for all your vlogs this year - I’ve enjoyed them and it’s good to have a vlogger who is grounded and makes clothing I could actually wear! (That’s meant to be a compliment ! 🤣). Have a wonderful cosy family Christmas and I look forward to seeing your vlogs again next year. 🤗🤗
Thank you, I do feel sometimes I lack the flare that others have but I need to make things I need if you know what I mean! I am so glad they appeal to some people and yes, I may go out of my comfort zone every now and again but it never lasts long 🤣. Happy New Year 😊🎉
Hi there, I have just checked the pattern and I made a Size 8. I was warned by people that it runs large so I am no help to you whatsoever 🤣. I would normally make a 10 in the Big 4. Merry Christmas to you as well and thanks for watching 🎄😊🧵
I think your address is still visible when you set your parcels aside. I can almost see it on my phone, so I'm pretty sure I would be able to read it on a tv or large screen, if not on a tablet.
Hi there. Thanks so much for your comment. Chris and I debated long and hard over the parcel being seen and in the end I decided to trust the sewing community and whoever watches my video not to zoom in. I may be insane but I couldn't face refilming or editing for just that one crazy person who may use my address! In the old days you could find anyone's address in the phone book and certainly you can get hold of anyone's address in the USA very easily on the internet. Thanks so much for your concern anyway and I hope you have a very Merry Christmas 😊🎄x

Happy New Year to you too 😊💚
Love the gifts!how thoughtful. I have sewn very little this last week. Sorry Disney trip did not turn out as planned.
Oh aren't the others just so generous? I had to give my sewing room over to the little boys so not done much either! Thanks for watching 😊🎄
Merry Christmas, Carole!
Thank you very much Lynn and the same to you! Hope you have a wonderful time with family and or friends 🎄😊x
Xxx
Great to hear that Chris is feeling better. Try to enjoy the holiday as best as you can.
Happy New Year 😊🎉
What size did you go with on the Style Arc top? I read it runs small. Merry Christmas 🇺🇸🇮🇱✝️
Hi there, I have just checked the pattern and I made a Size 8. I was warned by people that it runs large so I am no help to you whatsoever 🤣. I would normally make a 10 in the Big 4. Merry Christmas to you as well and thanks for watching 🎄😊🧵
Thanks for checking.
Happy Holidays, and thank you for your content!
@@greenquiltsgalore1326 thank you so much for watching and a Merry Christmas to you too 😊🎄
