I have watched your channel for about 2 years now, but now my kids (4 year old twins and a 2 year old) beg me to watch Becky's Homestead! We have chickens, and next year we are moving and planning to expand our homestead, which is why we love your videos!
I am a welder by trade and aluminum is much lighter, rust proof than steel. The disadvantage of aluminium is that it's not as tough as steel and the shelf life is shorter than steel. My opinion, I would rather have steel than aluminium for durability, plus aluminium cost more than steel. Just an idea
Love your tips, (&your mule)! looking for a trailer, & I'm cheap, practical, & safe, (not nec. in that order), it is confusing, & trying to figure the towing capacity...love your practical advise.
This is so funny. I have no interest in getting a horse trailer or a horse for that matter but I watched it anyway. Love your videos Becky and the info you give.
Just food for thought. The reason "other people" back their horses out is because you have more control of a horse going in reverse. Like they cant run you over and cant go very fast backwards. My one horse was owned by someone who did the turn and run out the door method which is just a disaster waiting to happen getting ran over when most horses are already antsy being in a trailer or a new place etc.
love the video... LOVE the horse trailer.. so many trailers are way too complicated and the horses tend to freak out.. I will definitely be looking at this brand of trailer
Right points on everything, safe Animals Happy Animals....wanted to share for chickens i save all egg shells boil them, then dry them and "coffee grinder" to powder and mix it in with their feed, i also use it myself..and for the other animals..Thank You Becky
Omg I loveee this trailer it has all the features I need and that my horse likes! Thank you for showing me this amazing trailer that doesn't cost a million dollars
I was so glad to see this one! I am saving for a horse trailer right now. Going to be buying over the winter. I just looked up this trailer and it is not a bad price either. I may not get a three horse but a two instead, but very nice!
Thank you for all of the great videos. I have a new little farm with chickens and miniature therapy horses and your videos have been so helpful to me!!!
I turn my horses around, too! Also, I don't like ramps because I had horses slide on manure on ramps. Dressing room doors that open worry me as I was wondering if urine would go into my tack area.
A few things. Watch out for that tongue weight on a bumper pull! Trailer dealers don't seem to want to give that information. And remember it will increase when you load up your dressing room. As for this particular trailer, I don't like the solid tops of the partitions. I know my horses prefer the bar type partitions. Also, one partition going right to the floor is useful for hauling hay with your horse when going camping. Fiberglass roof is a great idea! Aluminum roofs, if not insulated, are like putting your horse into an oven. I do have a stock type trailer but mine does not have the channels to insert the plexiglass. So be careful when you buy a stock type that it does have those channels! Personally, my next one would have windows with screens because then I could camp in it without being eaten alive by mosquitoes at night and still have air flow.
Another great video and I love the horse theme you've been on. I think you are a mind reader! I was looking for barefoot trimming and horse trailer videos and yours came up in my feed!
Becky I think you should have a regular trailer because with the windows always open rock s and other stuff can fly up in your horses face and your horses can get injured
Katelyn Nickels i have a enclose trailer with windows and fly screen and my horse the first trip stuck his ignorant nose straight through the screen :( but it is more piece of mind ,
i still like your content for the most part, but i have a problem with the turning around part. i have 17.2 hands draft horse and i know he wouldn't be able to do the turn. but either way i still feel like it helped a bit! thank you!
Just keep in mind weight of the loaded trailer and what your trucks GVWR and your tongue weight (10-15% of your total loaded weight for ball mounted hitches) That is another thing to consider. You need to know your tow package and what your truck can handle!
You cant just hook up any old trailer. And just because aluminum is lighter and easier to haul doesnt make it safer. you have to check your seams. What you want to look at in buying a horse trailer is the frame, bearings, tires, safety of it, not the luxuries or how easy it is on you
+Amanda Hitt the three horse is perfect for me because I sweep out the back and hang my eagles nest hammock back there and sleep like a baby. I try and get my setup as simple as I can. I kind of giggle when I see the huge rigs pull up, unpack all their stuff and try and get settled. It's something else.
+Jessica Berrie Thank you. It's so funny how many compliments I get on it being so simple and all. I guess people are drawn to simple even if they are not really aware of it.
Hi Becky. I have a question regarding the trailer and load your horses. Are the loading ramps easier then the step up jump down, or in your opinion not really a big factor when considering trailers?
i know a horse who has been in a pasture her whole life. i dont own her, but im working with her trust. shes improved a lot ever since. i can groom her and her legs, and i can pick her hooves. shes a little head shy still, and she will barely let me touch her ears, and i naver have from behind the halter. she also has problems coming out of her stall. when i can get her out and put her in a pasture, she gets very nervous when i leave. can you tell me some ways to get her out of the stall? the owner doesnt like the horses in the same pasture. and can you tell me how to get her used to having her ears touched?
You're definitely my kind of lady !!! What brand is your trailer ??? I was trying to get a glance at the model name and mfr, but, I got cute Mario instead !!! Also, where ??? I'm in the market for a 3 horse trailer, well, exactly like yours ??? but, all I see is super old crusty ones that are asking $2,000-$3,000... If I'm going to be paying $3,000 for a horse trailer, might as well be a new one ?? for a few grand more... I'm like you, I want longevity.... let me know when you can.. thank you !!!
+Hatch61 We love to go horse camping. Also I'm conditioning Charlie my mule to do endurance. Both require staying either at a state park or on private land over night. It's so much fun.
Becky's Homestead If you're going to do endurance get proper fitting tack because from some of your videos your tack clearly doesn't fit well and your mule will be uncomfortable
I so often see American trailers don't have ramps. I don't understand that. Here you will never see trailers without ramps. I even see trailers like that being used on wounded horses. Horses with leg wounds have to jump in with that sore leg. I don't get it. Nice trailer though.
Boy, those shoes. Sooner or later, the day will come when you're going to get stepped on, especially inside the confines of a trailer. That's what boots are for. Don't say I didn't warn you.
If you plexiglass the holes next time you look at your horses they're going to be dead they take a lot of oxygen and I can't wait till somebody still stack out of your trailer
It's not whether you like it that way or not, it's incorrect. If an animal pulls with a the knot tied like that, they can pull it so tight that you have to cut the halter off. And before you tell me that your animals are SUPER CALM and well mannered, ANY animal, no matter HOW well tempered, can have a freak out and pull while tied, or fall down in a trailer, ANYTHING can happen and you will have a wreck on your hands. If you are choosing to have livestock, do it correctly.
its a breath of fresh air watching Becky she is so down to earth and super smart Lady!! keep up the great videos!

Iris Gross aha me too 😂
Thank you for all of the great videos. I have a new little farm with chickens and miniature therapy horses and your videos have been so helpful to me!!!
Thanks for the great info! Owning a horse is a lifelong dream of mine and a trailer is a must. Your video is really informative

On big door can be a challenge is super windy conditions. Even with latches it can be wild.
Agaaa I love spending my sundays watching your videos all day 🙂❤️

She can slide plexiglass in the cutouts. It is designed for that
i still like your content for the most part, but i have a problem with the turning around part. i have 17.2 hands draft horse and i know he wouldn't be able to do the turn. but either way i still feel like it helped a bit! thank you!
Esther Stoltz theres nothing wrong with backing your horse out as long as they are confident and not rushy.
Aluminum frames crack pretty easily if it’s steel and it has a spray on coating like a bed liner coating it will take a looong time to rust.
6ft might work if you only have little ponies, or minis! But larger horses or mules and donkeys that are larger would do better.
Rubber mats are also quieter it deadens road noise
I have a one horse aluminum shadow trailer and I love it..thank you for the great review.🇺🇸👍🏼🐴
love you Becky. you are awesome ❤❤❤ love your videos. 😁
Can you make a video on hauling horses or camping with the horses
Beautiful trailer Becky,Awesome 👍🏻
We need latches like that for our horse trailer!! Always having those problems
+Megan & Mackenzie It is such a pain when your loading alone and the wind blows the door shut.
Just keep in mind weight of the loaded trailer and what your trucks GVWR and your tongue weight (10-15% of your total loaded weight for ball mounted hitches) That is another thing to consider. You need to know your tow package and what your truck can handle!

Very good video. Some good information!
How often, and what reasons do you need to transport them. As I consider different animals, I just want to know as much as possible before buying one.
Hatch61 well you may need one in a natural disaster like Harvey

Our horses racing is on youtube
We have enough room to put a bed for 6 people
Can you do more chicken videos?
She’s literally just pointing out stuff on her trailer that she likes, saying it’s a “must have” lmao
what tipe of trailer is that
Aluminium is also lighter to tow
Beautiful lady
first comment i love beckys homstead
Was the intro a mule or donkey?
If you plexiglass the holes next time you look at your horses they're going to be dead they take a lot of oxygen and I can't wait till somebody still stack out of your trailer
Or you could just get an Adam trailer
That is far from simple. That is a $10,000 trailer!
It's a mule
Nice Video
You tie your rope halters incorrectly. The knot goes below the loop.
+Meow Beast I don't like it that way.
Meow Beast I agree
No idea what you are talking about, halter is tied correctly. Never tie a horse in a rope halter anyway, not what they are for.
Looked more closely, see what you mean now:P
That's a big trailer
+Lisa Herrington It's not really big at all. It's a bumper pull and light weight. It just looks big and airy.
Becky's Homestead I'm in Canada what would one of these cost I'm hoping for a bumper pull I really like this one
Lisa Herrington about 10,000$ which is quite good for this type of trailer but you could find cheaper if you tried.
Is this a joke?!
Please remove me I’m 85 years old
