Great job on your reviews, you always cover all aspects of each boot and give us a good idea of which boots we may like to buy. Keep up the good work. This Scarpa boot is exactly what I am looking for except for the absurd colors on it. If Scarpa would take those colors off the boot eh would hit a home run
Great review and thanks for your effort. This boot is definitely not designed for running, but your other complaints are on point. I would recommend you to take a look at, and possibly review, Scarpa Rush Mid GTX. I think they would suit more your preferences. And would be more appropriate for the Ultimate Survival section. Although they do have some drawbacks, too. Personally I hike with Scarpa Rush Trk GTX. I like them so maybe others would, too, with a review. But not as an Ultimate Survival - their soles are also not very flexible, but probably aren't as stiff as the Zodiac.
Thank you for watching! I will definitely check out Rush Mid GTX. Back when I was making this review, I wasn't that much familiar with mountaineering, where you definitely want a much stiffer sole like in Zodiac.
Great insight, thank you. I feel Scarpa & La Sportiva are the premium brands for hard hiking/moutaineering but brands like Saloman, AKU, Meindl & Zamberlan are also very good. The Zodiacs are definitely great for hiking but don't try tree climbing 14.18 in them... maybe that wasn't what you meant to say?!
All around, 100% Salomon X Ultra 3 Mid GTX. Scarpa Zodiac are a mountaineering boot, something that you definitely don't want on a regular hike in the park. Now if you are shredding through the mountains in 3-season conditions, Scarpa is the option you want to consider.
Listen carefully : Firstly , do proper research ! SCARPA HAS NO COMPETITION ! THEY ARE " THEE " MARKET LEADERS ! You got them for a real good price too ! The sole is stiff for two reasons - Reaseach and you'll find out . And ... The sole will losen up . TERRIFIC VIDEO 👍🏻

Thank you for watching! And yea, 100% agree on colors! A bit silly stuff. The need a tactical, non-reflective version!
So vividly and engagingly expressed! Bravo, very and unexpectedly entertaining, and thank you.

They are made to be a little stiff for alpine use
Jep, and especially for via ferrata.
Scarpa Zodiac Plus GTX vs Salomon X Ultra 3 Mid GTX, what would your choice be for an all-around boot? Thanks!

@@UltimateSurvivalGear Copy. Thanks for your feedback. Have a good one!
Outsole is stiff for side hilling and climbing
Salimon vs scarpa which one is best for nepal everest basecamp hike?
Build quality is way better with the Scarpa. Solomon will be more comfortable out if the box.
Lol... "can't run in them" obviously they're not made for running, these are quite techical mountain boots :D
I know right lol I was thinking more of a bear chase situation... or a wild goat, since these are more alpine terrain appropriate.
