[Intro]
Mmm, yeah, hmm
Huh-uh, hmm
Mmm, yeah
[Verse 1]
Boy, you know you make me float
Boy, you really get me high
Ooh, I feel like I'm on dope
'Cause you, you serve me on a regular (You serve me on a regular)
Boy, you need to tie this rope
Oh, before we drift any deeper (Before we drift any deeper)
Baby, now hold me close
Let's take this overboard now
[Chorus]
I want you to rock the boat, rock the boat (Mmm)
Rock the boat, rock the boat (Yeah)
Work it in the middle, work the middle
Work the middle, work the middle
Change positions on me
New position (Oh), new position
Now stroke it, baby, stroke it for me (Yeah)
Stroke it for me, stroke it for me
[Verse 2]
Ooh, baby, I love your stroke
'Cause you, 'cause you get me where I'm going
'Cause you get me where I'm going, yeah
And truly you'll get my vote
'Cause I believe, I believe you know just what you're doing now
Baby, now we can coast (Let's coast, let's coast)
Let's don't get in a hurry
Oh, no, that's too slow
Hey, go 'head and put that thing in overdrive
[Chorus]
I want you to rock the boat, rock the boat (Ooh)
Rock the boat, rock the boat (Hey)
Work it in the middle, work the middle
Work it, babe, work it, baby (Work the middle, work the middle)
Change positions on me
New position (Oh), new position
Now stroke it, baby, stroke it for me
Stroke it for me, stroke it for me
I want you to rock the boat, rock the boat
Rock the boat, rock the boat (Hey)
Work it in the middle, work the middle
Work the middle (Ooh), work the middle (Hey)
Change positions on me
New position (Ooh), new position
Now stroke it, baby, stroke it for me (Yeah)
Stroke it for me, stroke it for me
[Bridge]
Stroke it for me
Mmm, stroke it, baby, stroke it, baby
Mmm, work it, baby, work it, baby
Oh, stroke it
There is something I want you to do for me
I want you to use yourself (Hey)
Like you've never, ever used to do before (Never)
To explore my body (Explore it, baby)
Until you reach the shore (Yeah)
I'll be calling, calling for more (Calling)
[Chorus]
Rock the boat, rock the boat (Oh)
Rock the boat, rock the boat
Work it in the middle
Mmm, work it, baby, work it, baby (Work the middle, work the middle)
Change positions on me (Mmm, change)
New position, new position (Hey)
Now stroke it for me, stroke it for me (Baby)
Stroke it for me, stroke it for me
I want you to rock the boat, rock the boat (Ooh)
Rock the boat, rock the boat
Work it in the middle, work the middle (Mmm, work it, yeah)
Work the middle, work the middle
Change positions on me
New position, new position (Change)
Now stroke it for me, stroke it for me (Yeah)
Stroke it for me, stroke it for me
Rock the boat, rock the boat
Rock the boat, rock the boat
Work the middle, work the middle
Work the middle, work the middle
Change positions on me
New position, new position
Stroke it for me, stroke it for me

Here on jan 19th. Thinking of babygirl. The end of this video to me, is her soaring to be with the doves. May babygirl rest in eternal peace 🕊️
Here 1/23 ❤
That shot of her disappearing in the light at the very end makes me very emotional. I'm so sad that she is gone.
it was like she was rising into heaven... 😭
Her walking on the quiet beach in the beginning was always emotional too.
Looks like a planned and paid ending smh

She’s almost been gone longer than she was alive. Life’s a trip.
Very true!
Woah 😳 now that you put it that way, damn that hits hard
Yup 21 years ago and she was 22
Yeah in 2024 she’ll be more dead than she was ever alive, it’s sick, i wish she was here💔💔💔💔

It's scary to think how life can end . The music lives on.
Its crazy cus she didnt wanna get on the plane
Don't know if it true but did they drug her and put her on anyway😢
@@carolineellison8078I personally think that that was set up
@@yimarruiz5846 I didn’t know that. I read somewhere that the flight was completely full and had reached weight capacity. She didn’t want to leave her two other friends behind so she insisted they board with her. Soon after the plane went down and the rest is history.
@@carolineellison8078 I found that disturbing when I heard that
JUSTICE IS COMING!! I can feel it!!
Yes it is
This the comment ‼️‼️ and a lot of us been waiting cause we knew they were lying, talking about she said "everything must go" 💔
@jamilpowns5098 yes sir. That's not even her approach. Aaliyah is soft spoken and not confrontational. But the bottom line...why would a nervous flyer argue to get on an overloaded plane. Aaliyah HATED planes in general. No way she arguing to get on a heavier plane. It never made sense to me. Those people on the news were lying.
Justice is comin for what ? 🤔
Praying on it since that day
No filler, no botox, no veneers, no bbl -> just natural BEAUTY!
Yep naturals in the building
I miss these times. Now woman look like Roblox characters lmao

Amen💘.
all natural except her hair
But can we talk about her hair? Her hair was ALWAYS laid. Always perfect. I’m so mad we never got a live performance of this.
It was the magic of her hairstylist Eric Foreman who sadly died with her. The artistry bond they had 🥲💗 angels
Yup. Her hair stylist did their thing. Her hair always looked so shiny and beautiful.
I loved it when Aaliyah wore her hair curly or wavy.
That native bloodline she had carried with her as well.
She was gonna go on Tour starting December 2001 and then all of 2002 she would’ve been performing this album everywhere. I couldn’t even imagine what that would’ve been like I guess we’ll never know
Aaliyah’s visual chemistry is electrifying
Absolutely stunning

They did her DIRTY!!!💔
The last scene still gives me chills
Sheesh same, I was only in 2nd grade when I heard she passed and remember catching chills same way I did just now to that part.

It’s so improbable to have that be the final scene of the last music video she ever made - Fading into the white light. It makes me wonder if the after life truly is real, and if it was just simply her time.
@@Thisizmyname She died right after filming this- the editing must have happened AFTER she had passed...I think it was done on purpose?

Truly!! So wild. 💝
This video still makes me cry 😓 Love you Aaliyah
I said the same years and years ago. I was in 8th grade when she passed. Watching the videos of her it seem like she knew something was coming. I feel like that’s why she told her brother to stay behind for the next flight 😢

She was dreaming of it too, she said this in an interview... that is so creepy

I introduced my kids to Aaliyah today. My 4 year old declared Aaliyah her favorite singer and they all loved her dancing. ❤❤❤ You will love on Baby Girl. 🕊️🤍
To know that she died after the filming of this video is still so emotional today. I avoided watching this video completely for years since her passing. I was 16 at the time and even then the sadness wasn't as overwhelming as it is now. I just watched it in its entirety and as soon as the intro came on, the tears came. I was instantly taken back to the day she passed. That pain has been with me since 2001 and I pray she's at peace. 💜🕊
When you thought u was the only one that get emotional when you see this video until u read the comments I was like 8 at the time & I haven’t watch this since 2001 I’m 28 now & my throat still gets lumps in it when I see it this a sad one
Singing about stroking it in heaven, I'm sure LOL So angelic
Thank you for sharing. I was only 18 at the time but she was already one of my idols
Me to l loved her since her album age Anit nothing but a number an that's real N facts
These kids that was born the year 2000 and after they don't know what they miss. I'm glad I was born in the 80's
I was 11 when she died and I'm now 33, my heart still aches every time I see her beautiful face. The older I get the more my heart breaks because I was never supposed to be older than her, she was supposed to be 44 years old now, winning Grammys, probably having her some stunningly beautiful children, going on vacations on girls trips, having ton of new music, movies. Being the mega star that she was born to be. Instead she will forever be 22 which crushes my heart every time I see her face or one of her videos. 💔🥺😢
Are U from USA ?
I feel it girl. I feel it too 😢
Well said. My feelings exactly
I was 14 😔💔 🫂
I was 11 also I remember I was watching either BET or MTV when the program I was watching interrupted and the news came about the crash I cried it was so sad 💔
I feel her soul was meant to stay pure and away from today’s music industry.
Exactly
Would’ve been bigger than Bey, Rhianna, Ciara, and even Ashanti. Princess taken from her castle too soon.😢
I always avoided this video for the past 20 years because it brings back so many terrible memories of 2001. I lived in NYC and this was all during 9/11, Aaliyah's death and Flight 587 (my aunt died on that plane crash in Queens, NY headed to the Dominican Republic). Today is my first time watching this in so long. Makes me shed a tear because here I am now in my 30s and Aaliyah remains young.
What’s so crazy is that Aaliyah lived in a apartment in NYC 😔
Hi Doris, can i ask you something...? Did you research about what really happend that day, i mean, who are responsible of that attack...? They said it was Ben Laden... I dont believe it, we should investigate on this, really! It may have been an inside job... May God forgive us and give paradise to the victims of that event and of what happend because of it since 21 years now, AMIN
It was Bahamas not Domic republic

Something I never shared here. When Aaliyah would come to Atlanta she would come by my seafood department. She would always say I knew how to cook it right. She would carry a conversation with me. She really was the sweetest person. Just a day or two before she shot this video she told me about shooting Rock the boat and how excited she was about the project. We talked about 45 minutes about it. Then the plane wreck happened. I cant tell how this effected me. And still this haunts me to this day. Aaliah was truly and angle. As I am writing this tears are falling down my face. Why did this have to happen? I guess some people are simply to good for this earth. Rest in peace you sweet thing.

She died in the plane that was taking her back to Miami after filming the video (not filming the video itself). I do think it would be better if everyone used scheduled flights and not private planes, however inconvenient they may be. And also remember 8 other people died in that crash.

2024.
Seeing a lot of her music being released, her charting again, her face everywhere, really puts it into perspective of how much was lost the day she left this earth. It’s crazy because she was only 22 when she died & I’m 22 right now, I wonder if people that were old enough to know what death is at the time & feel the impact of hers think “Damn did 20 years go by that fast?” It’s crazy how time flies. I remember growing up seeing her & Tupac’s poster side by side in my garage, my dad listened to both of them so that’s how I got into them & always loved/looked up to them since forever. I remember my dad playing “Are U That Somebody” & “Rock The Boat,” those are the main ones I remember hearing & it’s funny because I remember hearing those baby noises in “AUTS.”
Some of my top songs from her are I Don’t Wanna, Rock The Boat, Miss You, Try Again, Never Givin’ Up, A Girl Like You, Loose Rap, I’m Down, The One I Gave My Heart To, etc. she really just has a lot of hits & had so much more to achieve. I hope she’s at peace & sees all the love she has down here, I’m sorry life was so unfair to you but you’ll never be forgotten & finally your memory can properly live on as your music is now out for more generations to listen to. Your spirit & legacy lives on Aaliyah ♥️

Rest easy baby girl, miss you 😢 ❤
She always combined a straight up street edge with being feminine unlike anyone else in the music industry. Despite this she still had so much untapped potential and could have gone in any direction she chose. The way she passed away is a travesty and she deserved much better than that. A true superstar in every word of the meaning.
Feminine tomboy
She’s just so captivating
I'm 28 years old and I remember in the first grade and just pouring my eyes out she was super beautiful and this song it hurts everytime I listen to it
One of my favorites!!! Rip Aaliyah
Screw you hype Williams
Her walking on the beach brings me to tears considering the fact she died after this last music video. Rip Aaliyah 🙏🏽, your music will always be treasured in your fans ears ✨🕊️🕊️
If you look at the clouds over shoulder. You can see it in shape of skull and crossbones.
I cried like a baby while watching this. I can’t bring myself to watch it often because I get so emotional
The yacht scene in this video was shot just hours before her death that evening
This song will always have a bittersweet taste to me. While I absolutely love it with its exotic beat, it‘s unfortunately the song linked with her tragic passing. Also it‘s sad to know, that she couldn’t see her outstanding music video as well as perform this song live. :(
Truly one in a million and an angel on earth! 🙏🏼🕊
This song and video hurts the most
I've always struggled watching this video and listening to this song for this reason.
💔😪 I agree with every word you typed
Yes she is that best truly a real 👼 angel walking the earth and I am infatuated with her all my life
Oh damn...been listening to this forever. Had no idea she died right after this. Was this Aruba?
Sexy and flirty but not trashy or vulgar. Both lyrically and visually. Oh how times have changed. 🥴
Heart breaking to know she passed recording this 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ rest up Queen❤️🙏
RIP AALIYAH & STATIC MAJOR, the art you two created will live forever 🕊🕊 Favorite people of all time
Totally true indeed. Static‘s writing skills were phenomenal. Try Again, Rock the Boat and nearly all of the tracks of Aaliyah‘s eponymous album. Also wrote classics for Ginuwine etc. Needless to say that Aaliyah was truly one in a million!
@@inexpugnabilis and jojo.
@@maryannappiagyei4277 yes! 👍🏼
Omg how he passed?
@@lilmecca_ he died from complications of a medical procedure/operation. Sounds a little suspicious to me :( but at least I‘m totally convinced he is in heaven right now and smiling from above
2024 and still rockin da boat ❤ love Aaliyah❤
Her last moments of life doing what she loved and her peak of her career just beginning. She deserves to be here. 😔 we miss you Aaliyah
We do
We miss u Aaliyah 💕🎀
She was fire 🔥 I love 90’s vibe
Aaliyah was always stunningly beautiful, but she looks otherworldly in this video. Angelic even, which gives me goosebumps to think about. She’s frozen in time, forever young and forever beautiful.
Yeah, she was such a tomboy before, this video was a beautiful vision on how she grew into a beautiful feminine sensual woman.
Rejeane Aaliyah Cobain Hernandez
thank u she was my mother
@@Rejeaneredmom2012lol No, no she wasn't.
Don't forget about the other fine women in this spectacular video
At the end of the video from 5:17 onwards, it literally looks like she's an angel going to heaven. RIP Babygirl ♥️♥️
Thought the same 😢
I’ve always said that. RIP Aaliyah 🕊
I just cried when I replayed it there 😭
It was like saying goodbye - her final performance for us was done 😭
Foi propósital esse efeito, ela já tinha falecido quando o clipe foi feito
She was the complete package. My goodness. Beautiful, talented, well spoken, & a whole vibe.
It's sad to watch this video knowing this was her last video
That smile at the end 😭
The part that is the most interesting about this video is that in the end of the video, which was the last footage shot of Aaliyah, it looks like she’s literally going up into the clouds and straight to heaven. That part is so beautiful but it always gives me chills ❤️
actually the last ever footage shot of aaliyah was the boat scene, literally filmed in the morning the day she died
@@babyvanderwoodsen oh wow! I was mistaken since the part where she was in the ocean was the last part of the video, I assumed that was the last footage shot of her but good to know and thank you for telling me
@@babyvanderwoodsen I wish they could have used a green screen, all that just for a boat scene. Its beautiful but still though.
hype williams intended to have that displayed as if shes going to heaven due to her unexpected passing:( i feel like alot of scenes in the video wouldve been edited by aaliyahs word since she never got to decide which scene to add and replace.
@@teevee7678 Yes, I agree with you. May that angel always R.I.P 🙏🏼🕊✨❤️
This was my Dad’s favorite song according to my Mom and when I was 22 years ago on November 14th 2001 my Mom said he played this song after I was born and every year when my birthday comes around I always listen to it to pay tribute to him and celebrate my birthday. R.I.P to both Aaliyah and my Father hopefully y’all met up there by now
SHE HAS BEEN GONE LONGER THAN SHE WAS ALIVE NOW. R.I.P.❤🕊❤
Happiest Heavenly Birthday Beloved ❤️🙏🏾🌹

This is Aaliyah’s year for sure.
I come back to see her beautiful soul on this video her cheography is timeless and forever paved the way Imu aalyiah forever
She was such a blessing. I admire how she preformed this, respectfully
When big bootys and surgery didn’t matter, natural will always win!! Love you beautiful Angel! R.I.p
You are so right. Its so nice to see a girl with a natural body in an rnb video. Its unbelievable for me....after a video of hard work you enter a plane and 1 sec later all is over. I read the story. The pilot was under drugs i read... RIP Aaliyaa. You deserved so much more.....
R.I.P. Aaliyah 🖤🤍✝️🕊️🌹
It’s been 22 years since she passed away unexpectedly at the age of 22 years old, we still haven’t forgotten the impact she made in the music scene when she was a teenager.
She was also an actress. She was amazing in Queen of the Damned"
@@pabrinyshe was even better in Romeo must die.

This will always b my favorite singer ❤
Gone but not forgoten. Rest easy.
This hits hard I was one of the last people to actually see her before she passed. I was her room service waiter and took her breakfast to her she was staying in Bungalow 8 at the Delano hotel in South Beach. She left the hotel to go film this video and never came back. It was very sad I also listened to her music and my gf at the time loved her music too. RIP
What did she eat?

Happy Heavenly Birthday Aaliyah. 🎉❤ You would’ve been 44 today if you were still with us. We can only imagine how much bigger of a superstar you would’ve became may you continue to rest in paradise. 🌹
When was her birthday? I didn't ask since I haven't been looking up her for a long time.

RB QUEEN 4 LIFE
Your eyes can’t go anywhere but on Aaliyah-she was so magnetic. It’s more than just beauty. She had an inner radiance that is called “star quality.” We lost a lot when we lost her. RIP Aaliyah-and thank you.
What's so very bizarre is that she died just a few minutes after she finished this video. Which means that she had (probably) already taken her last Crap before this video was shot and that's so hard to imagine. RIP
The quality of this video is everything. Man 20 years later it still hurt that Aaliyah is not physically here with us today. Man she would’ve been dominated the music industry. Her personality, spirit, style, artistry, vibe and her music is definitely One In A Million. We love and miss you baby girl 🕊♥️
A fact she would’ve been number 1 even today
We Miss you Aaliyah and love you
I say this all the time! She'd be the one-name goddess. Everyone would be all 'Beyonce who?...oh yeah Destiny's Child'. Aaliyah was a natural; nothing contrived about her.
Facts Aaliyah will always be missed 😢
Yes, she would’ve. She was a rare talent. ❤️
I remember loving her as a young boy. Her music echoes throughout my whole childhood wow
💯
God bless her soul. She was beautiful, talented, and loved. R.I.P.
