I agree with you. I've won/drawn games against masters where I had been clearly lost for a long time. Of course most of the time I'll just lose but you'll never save the half point or make a comeback if you don't keep fighting. One of my favorite pieces of advice I ever read was "don't resign until you are confident you could beat Magnus Carlsen with your opponents position"
If it makes you feel better, I played this guy in round 2. Even though I won, when we analyzed the game together, he was talking down about my moves and was kind of giving a lot of negative comments about the game itself. I didn't really learn much going over the game. I don't think he's a bad guy but just says the wrong thing, imo.
So much of this video shows lack of understanding of the stonewall attack. It’s subtle but vicious when executed properly. I’d be more than happy to show you after dinner and a GothamChess video. Perhaps we can both enjoy a glass of 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon hon hon hon.
Thank you for sharing this game. Your post game analysis is always instructive! I appreciate your honesty too! You are allowed to play for two outcomes, a loss or a draw. It happened at the Candidates yesterday. You almost had the draw. As to your opponent lecturing you after the game, only one A-hole here, that would be him.
Nice video, Sara! You do not get the attention you deserve. I'm going to see if I can change that. I am going to share your channel with everyone I can. Good luck. Take a deep breath.
What's going on, feeling discouraged? Not enjoying playing? I'm constantly thinking about quitting chess forever, etc but I think it's inescapable so might as well submit and work Sorry to see you so down, chess can just be the absolute worst in terms of how it can make you feel, almost worse than family sometimes P.S. "Why didn't you resign?" - has this guy seen the blunders that people are making every round in the Candidates?
You might be a bit of an a-hole but it’s my opinion that you can only get so good without at least a little bit of a-hole in your persona 😅
It's true! I'm embracing it!
Referring to the analysis of her game as "the postmortem" in such a happy tone is a perfect example of Sara-speak.

whats wrong with your opponent pointing out you're lost/questioning why you played on?
you're free to not resign, he's free to comment on it?
It's true! And I'm also free to comment on him commenting on it!
