Nice video, enjoyed watching. My twin brother and I booked a hunt with a guide in Wisconsin in a few weeks, can’t wait. It’s only my second time grouse hunting, hoping for cooler temperatures.
Could you talk about tips on dog training? Your dog does such a great job and I couldn't help but notice her figure 8 she does between both sides of the trail. I have been out and only seen 1 grouse so far in st louis county. Walked about 8 miles myself and 4 miles or so with my 1 year old lab. Hopefully this nasty wind goes away soon, today its really bad. Thanks for the videos! Enjoyable to watch.
@@timothyjackson5897 I’ll try to touch on that in a video, but teaching them hand signals to cast them left or right is very helpful. Also bringing your dog all the way back to you when they come out ahead of you on the trail.
Was out this morning up near Emily and the wind was awful. Seeing this I wish I would’ve gone off trail more. I flushed 4 yesterday. Also would love tips my 2 year old lab does great being out there with no formal training but I can’t get him to retrieve without crushing squirrels or bird
There’s a number of videos on RUclips about training a dog with a “hard mouth”. If you search that you will find them. I’ve never delt with it so I can’t give you much for advice.
