You don't need scroll wheel to tapstrafe. Using scroll to pick up items quickly and reviving without accidentally opening a door (or being able to open a door without accidentally starting a revive) is far more impactful on gameplay than using a tapstrafe ever will be. Interesting. I see you're a fan of Polyphia, goood taste man. I understand what you mean by using the scroll wheel to pick up items faster, that's indeed a really useful bind. I do however find it really difficult to relate when you say it's hard to shoot when using scroll to tap strafe because that almost feels like a complete non-issue. I agree, you can indeed tap strafe by simply tapping forward (and it's helpful to learn both ways, just like how you should be able to bunny hop with both spacebar and scrollwheel) though, the vast majority of people I believe have no issues with that. Key-bindings are down to utility and personal preference at the end of the day but I do agree that being able to spam interact on your scroll wheel has a big impact on how fast you're able to loot, but I simply have no issue spamming E, just like how you have no issue spamming Forward lol
@@SuitMonkey Yeah, you are correct. The way I see it, every millisecond counts when you drop hot, I can spam E too, but scroll looting saves time (and more importantly gets you into the fight slightly earlier) whereas scroll tapstraffing is simply easier than tapping forward. actually, the faster way to get high up buildings is wall bouncing on the door, you can open the door while in a slidejump and wallbounce on it, if you pull if off you get high up immediately, and it can work for rushing in a building too, since probably no one will expect you wallbouncing on the door lol

Thanks for nice video, was able to do monkey slide in like half an hour at firing range, but i can't quite understand how you make 180 tapstrafe. What's the input sequence for that? It seems like i'm not doing it right and i either move the same way (i tried tapping s, d, a - 3 tries, not in one) or i lose momentum (tapping w when turned 180). Also just to make sure i'm doing correctly monkey slide: run -> slide -> jump -> start looking left/right -> tap a/d -> turn back (right/left) -> hold S -> crouch
you're not doing it right, first you have to bind your forward key to your scroll wheel, after that for 180 you need to press a or d while looking to the right or left and using your scroll wheel at the same time, for the monkey slide it's basically the same thing but doing a 90 degrees turn instead

When wattson first came out she use to drop 3 pylons without them breaking, they later changed it to only one and when you placed another the other pylon broke, but they changed it back to 3 pylons, so whenever you place your pylon, and you have time to pop and ultimate accelerant do it but don’t do it if you can poke dmg to the enemy that will be very stupid if you pop and ultimate accelerant when you could be shooting at the enemy. Idk if it still does it but whenever you dropped a pylon there use to be three circles that popped up on the ground. The first circle is the range you can throw nades without your pylon destroying them, the 2nd circle is the range of how far you get get your shields recharged, the 3rd circle is the range where the pylon can destroy “interceptions” like gibby últs, bang últs, nades and other things like horizons gravity lift and caustics traps. I need to see if when your drop the pylon the three circles would still pop up

you can make a config file with jump and w for mouse up and this will let you do all of these and many more techs that you normally cant do this is not considered cheating but you can not use it in tournaments
Thanks for the vid SM. One question, what's your opinion on auto sprint? I found it sometimes delays my scoping in close quarter gunfights but it can help me sprint as soon as I move which certainly improves my agility.
I only autosprint since its implemented. And I get along way better with this. I tried to get back to shift sprint but this throws off my movement now xD .. also, I personally, can easier walljump, bhop and tap strafe since I don't have to think about this anymore.
Literally just jump and give a sideways or backwards input while holding crouch. It's not the same as this tech but is still very effective and much easier to do.
Scroll down for jump and scroll up for W or forward because some people like bhopping with scrollwheel instead of spacebar scroll up for forward to tap strafe
with tap strafes on scrollwheel, the input is registered a lot more times per second, while tapping the w as many times as is needed for the movement is kinda hard (i've tried).
Hello nice videos, you can consider putting eq to your voice, boost mids and highs and reduce lows, or use presets in premiere, it sounds muffly this way and cannot understand the words without cranking up the sound
are you hitting spacebar for the wall jumps and slide jumps and stuff? i came from cs so i use scroll down for every jump movement and im not sure if i should try to learn space instead, i have both bound to jump but i just dont use space. I seen that faide only uses space to jump and hes got the most practical movement in the game
Yea I use space bar for jumping, slide jumping, and wall jumping. I use the scroll wheel for b-hopping (I can use spacebar as well, but scroll wheel is more comfortable) and zipline jumping (boosting) and super jumping. So essentially, you're on the right track. It's good to know both, but tl;dr, if a single jump is needed, I use space, if I need to b-hop or need multiple jumps instantly, I use scroll.
Tbh I don’t think it matters. When I started playing apex i just matched most of my movement binds from cs to apex. I use only scroll for jumping and can do every movement technique that involves jumping with consistency and ease. The reason I don’t use space is because I use it for crouching. So if I were you I would play around with both and see what you think is more comfotable
@@Triannosaurus aim assist is garbage. It's utterly useless when you need to lead a target at any kind of range. I have mine turned off because you fight it and end up missing shots when the "assist" pulls you back onto the target you're leading. I'm sick of that argument.
So that means if you use your mouse wheel up as your W key, you are going to jump with spacebar for the tap strife ? As its kinda not possible to mouse wheel down to jump and then wheel up to move. Am i right ?
You DO have the ability to bind your MWDown as Jump, as well as have Move Forward double-bound to both W and MWUp. You'd have to switch weapons with 1 or mouse buttons though
You can bind the same move to 2 different keys at the same time. I move forward with my W key, and tap strafe with scroll-up, which is also bound to the W key. I also jump with spacebar, but bunny hop with scroll-down, which is also bound to jump.

I need to see if when your drop the pylon the three circles would still pop up
Monkey strafing since day 1
no you werent
Thats what someone like you would say haha
@@misterlee1390 boy no one even knew about it till 6 months ago
Im not a boy and i dont think so lol
@@misterlee1390 it requires tap strafing which was discovered approximately six months ago by a member in a discord server that belongs to a youtuber that goes by the name mokeysniper, look up "mokeysniper tap strafing" and you will see. Also "boy" at the start of a sentence is a figure of speech.
Love the Apex coffee table
Video is a gem
I've been doing this tap strafe since s3 now it's like a hobby to me
IM gonna sprain my wrist doing this
Nah man lol you'll be fine.
Yooo great vid in like a week ill be on pc playing apex☝🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥ill take any advice thank🙏
Monke. Thank you Monke. Monke thank you are Monke
This could be the end of tapstrafing.. RIP.. just too many applications.
OR just bind S to mouse wheel down for reverse tap strafing
Been doin this for a while and i just call it combat sliding
when doing the door climb do you need to press the side movement too (A or D) or just turn then camera to the direction and tap w/scroll?
tapstrafing is like normal strafing but with added w inputs, u gotta also press a or d for a tapstrafe
Yea either A or D.
6:38 , bro why
OMG! Im too drunk to understand this at the moment so ill just crouch...
illegal movement...
and thats how you unlock luigi
you can make a config file with jump and w for mouse up and this will let you do all of these and many more techs that you normally cant do this is not considered cheating but you can not use it in tournaments
You can use it tournaments albarelie legit used it one
all you need to do is bind your mouse down/up for jump and forward no config needed
Oh also stormen does the monkey slide a lot
Thanks for the vid SM. One question, what's your opinion on auto sprint? I found it sometimes delays my scoping in close quarter gunfights but it can help me sprint as soon as I move which certainly improves my agility.
Start hip firing
Damn that's a tough one, never felt the need for autosprint at all. You play mouse n key?
@@SuitMonkey Yea I play on pc. I just find it exhausting for my tail finger to frequently pressing the shift key.
Yea eventually you get used to it, but if auto sprint works then I see no reason to change it lol. It probably has pros that I'm not even aware of.
I only autosprint since its implemented. And I get along way better with this. I tried to get back to shift sprint but this throws off my movement now xD .. also, I personally, can easier walljump, bhop and tap strafe since I don't have to think about this anymore.
This let's me know that as a console player we have no hope against PC players.
Every guide tells me to to bind something else to the scroll wheel...good luck I got an 200 direction scroll wheel *cough cough*
Haha I felt that.
However, unless you have other issues, this is probably the last bind you'll ever need to make.
I just bind Jump to scroll wheel down for wall-bouncing, zipline superjumps and B-hopping and forward to scroll wheel up for tap-strafing
@@DaekoTan same
stormen does a monkey slide but without looking away and or building up momentum, i've been trying to figure out how he does it for a week now.
Literally just jump and give a sideways or backwards input while holding crouch. It's not the same as this tech but is still very effective and much easier to do.
Is your scroll wheel bound to jump? I'm assuming it is I just want to be 100% sure
Scroll down for jump and scroll up for W or forward
because some people like bhopping with scrollwheel instead of spacebar
scroll up for forward to tap strafe
I do not understand how using one binding over another magically makes the input different...
with tap strafes on scrollwheel, the input is registered a lot more times per second, while tapping the w as many times as is needed for the movement is kinda hard (i've tried).
ay im pretty early too bad i cant use these tips cause my accounts banned
Its banned for a reason. Get a new one and be less toxic next time :)
@@IfUanswerMeUareGae it's not for being toxic it's because of some payment issue
that poor little wattson in the end... F
Nice
Can you do a vid for switch players?
Hello nice videos, you can consider putting eq to your voice, boost mids and highs and reduce lows, or use presets in premiere, it sounds muffly this way and cannot understand the words without cranking up the sound
PC is superior to all got it. I play on a Nintendo switch.
are you hitting spacebar for the wall jumps and slide jumps and stuff? i came from cs so i use scroll down for every jump movement and im not sure if i should try to learn space instead, i have both bound to jump but i just dont use space.
So if I were you I would play around with both and see what you think is more comfotable
i wonder if you know , how it is in tokyo ! #DK
This is why crossplay with PC is a bad idea.
we have movement, you guys have aim assist xD
I use soacebar and scroll down for jump, when I tap strafe I use spacebar
@@jhitgoomba1 does it work for you fine like that ?
You can bind the same move to 2 different keys at the same time.
I move forward with my W key, and tap strafe with scroll-up, which is also bound to the W key.
I also jump with spacebar, but bunny hop with scroll-down, which is also bound to jump.
my sens is low i cant 180 in one swing
Take down the vid please before they patch the game! I'd love to see the stats for moving in impossible ways reports in your matches 😆.
Haha.
but what key should i bind my forward mouse wheel to?
Bind it to 'Forward', so basically it becomes a secondary forward.
@@SuitMonkey noted. thank you, kind sir :)
