You know what I just realized. Charlie spent a whole day hanging out with Emily and let her show around heaven, never once showing any animosity or hostility towards her. Everyone being hella confused about everything, Charlie not understanding how the angels truly believe they're in the right, Emily not knowing about the extermination at all, Adam and Lute not getting why any of it matters because they're already dead, nobody understands anything during the song.
Yup, and thats the whole point of this song. Nobody, and I mean nobody, maybe not even God but that is a big if, knows what it takes to get into Heaven. We learn at the start of Hazbin Hotel that literally every soul on Earth was supposed to end up in Heaven no ifs, ands, or buts. As there was no Hell. Lucifer created Hell by given the humans the gift of knowledge. He felt that the way Heaven was doing things wasn't right and he believed/dreamed that given the opportunity to actually choose for themselves, the humans would still choose to be good, instead of blindly following Heaven's laws. But that is what created Hell. Once man could conciously choose, and actually had the knowledge that there is a choice, that is what created Hell. So the only 100% fact that we know of to enter Heaven is essentially to blindly follow Heaven's rules, but now we know for souls, redemption is also another way into Heaven, but what are the criteria of that redemption, that is what is in question.
@@wanderinwolf3804 yeah I think that's why Adam is such a bad person (and got into Heaven), he didn't eat the apple like Eve did. I wonder if we'll ever see Eve in an episode of Hazbin, and if so if she's in Heaven or Hell?

Very small detail. After Charlie says "That's what the fuck I've been saying", after Emily finishes her solo, they hold hands. After this, Emily flies to the top of the orb, dragging Charlie with her so they can start their shared part.
I'm sure its been said before but I love how quick Charlie is to defend or get mad for angel's sake. both here, her eyebrow twitching when lute started singing or when she went after angel to his work with val.
Love the small details. Sera clearly tried to warn Adam just before he blabbed before whole heaven about exterminations. And when he realized he has done just that, he just blurts out: shit!
I don't know why but Charlies "it's not fair Sera" just gives me chills because she's finally pointing out the injustice she knew all along but now has proof
I love Lute’s line and the intensity it brings, but I LOVE Sera’s voice even more. I don’t know much about singing, and I might not have the best ears, but I just love the way she sounded and it was just perfect.
Which makes sense. You have 3-4 different views/motives all clashing and battling each other. With a dynamic change due to the fact that every character and party has secrets with each other party and as they get revealed the situation and motive changes.
I love the fact charlie goes demon mode when adam taunts her with extermination, I think if Emily hadn't suddenly interjected she might have tried to tear him apart
If you recall the pilot episode. You can see whenever she "Flares-up" emotionally, her true form manifests itself. Intense spikes of emotion do that, and with this scene, it's not hard figure she's gettin' a mite bit... Pissed.
I kinda like how, in hazbin hotel, demons and angels are not evil and good respectevly, but chaos and order. Hell is a pretty anarchic place, with a lot of rulers and no common goal. Everyone has an objective, wheter that might be good or bad. Meanwhile, heaven is the opposite: everyone acts on a set of rules, there is a clear heirarchy and everyone seems to have one common goal, that being the prosperiry of heaven. Altough, the ways they might reach that goal are questionable. So, essentally, hell is chaotic neutral, while heaven lawful neutral.
Not sure if this is a popular opinion, but this is my favorite song in the whole season. Everything from the lyrics, to the vocals, the variety of instrumental themes, the character growth, and the themes it discusses. All of it is amazing.
One of my favorite songs in the whole show. Charlie and Emily's duet is so amazingly done and the musical score is just fantastic spot on with them. Can't stop listening. Bravo!
A bit late but i like how adam after saying he cant wait to exterminate the demons, sera hears it and he goes "shit." He really let their motives slip and sera tried to catch him, but adam being himself, wanted to get onto charlies nerves and remind her that theyll be there to kill eveyone in hell.
What I don't get is why they held the meeting without expecting it to come up at all. It's a major part of why Charlie was there, wouldn't she mention it?
She also has her flaws as she was part of the extermination squad. She let a kid go, sure, but she didn't have much of a problem before that. Not that all angels are cruel idiots as Emily is proving and while Sera is quite prejudiced, in essence she still tries to do right. Adam and his subservient side kick are the leading angels of the extermination and the prevalent faces of them in the show, meant to highlight the problems with the system but they are still only individuals, not representative of the whole as shown by the shocked faces of the onlookers when he revealed the exterminations.
I feel like based of Sera’s facial expressions she did think differently and did think it was possible but for whatever reason whatever corrupted ideologies the elder angels or whoever is higher up is telling her is making her fear ending up like Lucifer and I think all Lucifer wanted was more freedom (free will) since Heaven of course is seen as a bit uptight yet his form of free will was absolute chaos
Sera seems more like an overworked puppet than someone actively evil. She is more scared of becoming fallen or Heaven being threatened by hordes of Demons than wanting to kill people for the lolz. It's clear she does not know the full game being played here and is making decisions based off of incomplete info.
"There's no question to be posed, He's unholy, case closed. Did you forget that Hell is forever?" Is hands down one of THE BEST vocal phrases I've heard in a while. Adam and Lute's harmonies tickle my brain.
Did anyone else notice that in the moment that Emily realized Sera wasn't the role model she thought, there was an eye on her halo and chest, but in no other part of the song?
Sera's justification for allowing the exterminations dont even make sense when you get down to it. "They were uprising!" Okay, HOW!? Its not like they could get up to Heaven to square up!
@@NexusComplexusI mean would you trust lucifer whose sole job was to leave two brand new beings alone and then the guy not only does not do the only thing he's told not to but as consequence creates hell and invites evil along with dooming earth

ITS SO COMPLEX AND GOES SO HARD I LOVE IT
Everyone being hella confused about everything, Charlie not understanding how the angels truly believe they're in the right, Emily not knowing about the extermination at all, Adam and Lute not getting why any of it matters because they're already dead, nobody understands anything during the song.
And this my friends is why this song is called “you didn’t know”
@@michaelchance6125 I think Eve is fit for bad guy material for future seasons, but I could be wrong. Anyways, I think this is because she would be thirsty for revenge. Like she accidentally caused hell to happen and then was most likely banished to hell.

Wow
Thankk
Thank you for the lyrics!!
It makes me really happy that the citizens (or jury?) of Heaven are just as confused and mortified to find out that the people of hell have been being slaughtered. It proves that they aren't heartless and they find it just as unacceptable as Emily.
Right? Especially that one angel who kinda resembles Stolas in Helluva Boss. He looks genuinely heartbroken.
Well Heaven can't be full of assholes. Sera was trying to keep them ignorant because "ignorance is bliss".
@@hannahdavis5725also "ignorance is innocence". If there is a calling to account regarding the sinners, Sera has set it up so that she'll take the majority of the blame: as one of the few who knows, as the person who authorized it.
I adore how Adam is almost always smiling and Lute is almost always scowling, when they're put next to each other it looks really neat.
It's pretty cool that when Emily stares into the orb in horror, the hellfire doesn't reflect in her eyes, but when Sera comes up behind her, the fire is in *hers*.
Sera made the decision to do the Exterminations.
"don't you act all high and mighty" i love that part
I LOVE that the instruments become more ominous/evil when Adam says that
Real, idk why but I like the part while he says usssssss

I cant believe i have only just noticed emilys crown and top become an eye opening at 1:50 after she has found out the truth and starts going off at sera but then is gone when she says the line to heed the morals your pervaying at 2:04
I just now noticed there's an eye on her chest too. My favorite part is the eye on her crown gives Sarah the side eye as she walks towards Charlie at 2:00 xD
It's a halo...
But yeah. Cool detail
@sailormoonnerd_ when she gets mad the top middle of the halo also gets an eye its explained somewhere else in the comments but the eyes are meant to see and purifiy sinners
@@faithfulgamers3161 I never said they were wrong. Just corrected them because they called it a crown.

I love the duet and this energy between Charlie and Emily in this song. simply awesome.
love how the angelic council is just watching the tea and seeing the Seraphim Queen get roasted
Ngl, I love it when Charlie lets the sheer boiling fury inside her at the situation in Hell bubble to the surface a bit.
'By her?' 'HA!' I fucking love Lute's laugh here omg
Emily's lines were awesome here
0:53 - 1:12 and 2:08 - 2:24 are hands down the BEST parts of the songs!!!
I also loved Emily's part at 1:47 - 2:06 she sounded really good, and I really liked how,as her metaphorical eyes open to what Heaven has been allowing, so do her true ones (chest/halo)
That sudden shift to rebelliousness against the authorities of Heaven with Emily gets me every time

I love Charlie's "it's not fair Sera" line, you can really hear the frustration come through
So much character growth in just a single song for Charlie and her counterpart, Emily. I love it. Well done, Vivzie.
Love the small details. Sera clearly tried to warn Adam just before he blabbed before whole heaven about exterminations. And when he realized he has done just that, he just blurts out: shit!
Just Wow they way the flow, lyrics and vocals all are so flawless together isn’t appreciated enough. They snapped
Man 2:07 is such a banger moment. So well done.
REAL
I don't know why but Charlies "it's not fair Sera" just gives me chills because she's finally pointing out the injustice she knew all along but now has proof
You know Sera was really surprised when Sir Pentious ascended, so she wasn’t expecting it so maybe she’s not the one making these decisions anyway.
I love Lute’s line and the intensity it brings, but I LOVE Sera’s voice even more. I don’t know much about singing, and I might not have the best ears, but I just love the way she sounded and it was just perfect.
2:08 the way how they seem together, so that’s part is stuck in my head

The song motif just change every 30-20 second fr
I honestly dislike crashing motifs (like Jesus Christ Superstar for example) but I love this
Which makes sense. You have 3-4 different views/motives all clashing and battling each other. With a dynamic change due to the fact that every character and party has secrets with each other party and as they get revealed the situation and motive changes.

Best song in the show so far 🔥🔥🔥
Emily and Charlie killed it, also love lutes line😂
Emily is adorable and a sweetheart
I love the looks of shock and horror on the other angels faces. They had no idea this was happening and they are not okay with it at all.
I love the fact charlie goes demon mode when adam taunts her with extermination, I think if Emily hadn't suddenly interjected she might have tried to tear him apart
loving lute's voice 💗💗💗
Does anyone notice that Charlie’s hair started flowing and suddenly just teleported back with the ties and all that😭
It did transform back, if you slow the frames down, it shows that it didn’t just teleport back lol
If you recall the pilot episode. You can see whenever she "Flares-up" emotionally, her true form manifests itself. Intense spikes of emotion do that, and with this scene, it's not hard figure she's gettin' a mite bit... Pissed.
That’s another one of her powers infinite hair ties 😂
She is so frustrated
I kinda like how, in hazbin hotel, demons and angels are not evil and good respectevly, but chaos and order.
Hell is a pretty anarchic place, with a lot of rulers and no common goal. Everyone has an objective, wheter that might be good or bad. Meanwhile, heaven is the opposite: everyone acts on a set of rules, there is a clear heirarchy and everyone seems to have one common goal, that being the prosperiry of heaven. Altough, the ways they might reach that goal are questionable. So, essentally, hell is chaotic neutral, while heaven lawful neutral.
Omfg i loved this observation!!
One of the most questionable things to me is currency existing in heaven.
I love this song definitely in top 5
Not sure if this is a popular opinion, but this is my favorite song in the whole season. Everything from the lyrics, to the vocals, the variety of instrumental themes, the character growth, and the themes it discusses. All of it is amazing.
I can’t help loving lute she’s so pretty
My Favorite song 🎵
Why say that? Stop being so negative @@Avanna666
One of my favorite songs in the whole show. Charlie and Emily's duet is so amazingly done and the musical score is just fantastic spot on with them. Can't stop listening. Bravo!
I love how after Emily says "wait" Adam says "shit". It's so subtle i didn't notice it the first time 1:17
When Adam said "Hell is forever" it's a display of power
When Charlie and Emily sing it, it's a stand against injustice
A bit late but i like how adam after saying he cant wait to exterminate the demons, sera hears it and he goes "shit." He really let their motives slip and sera tried to catch him, but adam being himself, wanted to get onto charlies nerves and remind her that theyll be there to kill eveyone in hell.
1:56 I love when she says this line, behind her are the virtues, it’s a fun detail
It also kinda looks like she's gesturing at them behind her
I like how charlie gets progressively more pissed towards heaven throughout the series

Lute and Adam are the reason I keep coming back to this song.
"did you forget that hell is forever" Is my favorite part and I dont know why
Ah and also "Is hell is forever then heaven must be a lie"
I love the fire and conviction in Charlie here
Did Adam Seriously forget he is in a Room filled with Angels? He Decided to Open his big Mouth about the Exterminations
He has a massive ego and it isn’t surprising that he would do that
Adam isnt exactly the smartest. When its between him egostroking himself, or not doing something really stupid, he picks the first option

Sera acts like a mother to Emily but shes her sister
Theres so many little details in this series i am all for it vivziepop❤
I almost hope to see Lute as the main antagonist in S2. Her voice goes inexplicably hard, my GOSH!

Lute's part is hitting hard. Saw yt short where that part played, made me want to watch show. Wish there were more from Lutes part.
2:59 charlie got that "erm what the flip" expression
Ngl Lute's part was AMAZING
Can we talk about how good sera sings?
Fr😭 i love it when she says "you have to listen it was such a hard decision"
And the beginning sounds also really good, too bad she sings like 3 times
"Wait.." "Sh#t" Perfect Adam response
All the music is freaking fantastic in this series
This is so fucking good I love this
Charlie and Emily sound amazing together!
"If hell is forever, then heaven must be a lie!

"There's no question to be posed,
He's unholy, case closed.
Did you forget that Hell is forever?"
Is hands down one of THE BEST vocal phrases I've heard in a while. Adam and Lute's harmonies tickle my brain.
The bass at the end is just. Chefs kiss
Did anyone else notice that in the moment that Emily realized Sera wasn't the role model she thought, there was an eye on her halo and chest, but in no other part of the song?
Because she's feeling strong emotions. It's like when Charlie's eyes change and her horns appear
lute slayed
Sera's justification for allowing the exterminations dont even make sense when you get down to it.
"They were uprising!"
Okay, HOW!? Its not like they could get up to Heaven to square up!
That's probably just what Adam told her, but she is mighty suspicious nonetheless
