Yup, and thats the whole point of this song. Nobody, and I mean nobody, maybe not even God but that is a big if, knows what it takes to get into Heaven. We learn at the start of Hazbin Hotel that literally every soul on Earth was supposed to end up in Heaven no ifs, ands, or buts. As there was no Hell. Lucifer created Hell by given the humans the gift of knowledge. He felt that the way Heaven was doing things wasn't right and he believed/dreamed that given the opportunity to actually choose for themselves, the humans would still choose to be good, instead of blindly following Heaven's laws. But that is what created Hell. Once man could conciously choose, and actually had the knowledge that there is a choice, that is what created Hell. So the only 100% fact that we know of to enter Heaven is essentially to blindly follow Heaven's rules, but now we know for souls, redemption is also another way into Heaven, but what are the criteria of that redemption, that is what is in question.
@@wanderinwolf3804 yeah I think that's why Adam is such a bad person (and got into Heaven), he didn't eat the apple like Eve did. I wonder if we'll ever see Eve in an episode of Hazbin, and if so if she's in Heaven or Hell?
@@michaelchance6125 I think Eve is fit for bad guy material for future seasons, but I could be wrong. Anyways, I think this is because she would be thirsty for revenge. Like she accidentally caused hell to happen and then was most likely banished to hell.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the fluidity of the animation, especially from 2:09 to 2:14? The way the camera spins around while Charlie and Emily are singing is amazing. It's amazing that despite the show not being CGI, it still spins around. Can we also appreciate the voice acting and singing during this song and the fact that Charlie was brave enough to defend her opinions on her friends, who were in Hell, from Sera, Lute and Adam's opinions on them during the song. This shows how brave and selfless she is. And I love how Emily was brave enough to defend Charlie, her friends and her dream of redeeming the sinners of Hell so that they could go to Heaven.
0:53 - 1:12 and 2:08 - 2:24 are hands down the BEST parts of the songs!!! I also loved Emily's part at 1:47 - 2:06 she sounded really good, and I really liked how,as her metaphorical eyes open to what Heaven has been allowing, so do her true ones (chest/halo)
I cant believe i have only just noticed emilys crown and top become an eye opening at 1:50 after she has found out the truth and starts going off at sera but then is gone when she says the line to heed the morals your pervaying at 2:04
I just now noticed there's an eye on her chest too. My favorite part is the eye on her crown gives Sarah the side eye as she walks towards Charlie at 2:00 xD
@sailormoonnerd_ when she gets mad the top middle of the halo also gets an eye its explained somewhere else in the comments but the eyes are meant to see and purifiy sinners
I don't know why but Charlies "it's not fair Sera" just gives me chills because she's finally pointing out the injustice she knew all along but now has proof
"WHY HIDE THE FACT THAT YOURE AN ANGEL JUST LIKE US!!!!!?" (song ends in dramatic music) is THE MOST "Disney villian" shit I've heard in a LONG time lol. That still stings!
I love Lute’s line and the intensity it brings, but I LOVE Sera’s voice even more. I don’t know much about singing, and I might not have the best ears, but I just love the way she sounded and it was just perfect.
One of my favorite songs in the whole show. Charlie and Emily's duet is so amazingly done and the musical score is just fantastic spot on with them. Can't stop listening. Bravo!
I'm sure its been said before but I love how quick Charlie is to defend or get mad for angel's sake. both here, her eyebrow twitching when lute started singing or when she went after angel to his work with val.

Which makes sense. You have 3-4 different views/motives all clashing and battling each other. With a dynamic change due to the fact that every character and party has secrets with each other party and as they get revealed the situation and motive changes.
Love the small details. Sera clearly tried to warn Adam just before he blabbed before whole heaven about exterminations. And when he realized he has done just that, he just blurts out: shit!
A bit late but i like how adam after saying he cant wait to exterminate the demons, sera hears it and he goes "shit." He really let their motives slip and sera tried to catch him, but adam being himself, wanted to get onto charlies nerves and remind her that theyll be there to kill eveyone in hell.
I love the fact charlie goes demon mode when adam taunts her with extermination, I think if Emily hadn't suddenly interjected she might have tried to tear him apart
"There's no question to be posed, He's unholy, case closed. Did you forget that Hell is forever?" Is hands down one of THE BEST vocal phrases I've heard in a while. Adam and Lute's harmonies tickle my brain.
I kinda like how, in hazbin hotel, demons and angels are not evil and good respectevly, but chaos and order. Hell is a pretty anarchic place, with a lot of rulers and no common goal. Everyone has an objective, wheter that might be good or bad. Meanwhile, heaven is the opposite: everyone acts on a set of rules, there is a clear heirarchy and everyone seems to have one common goal, that being the prosperiry of heaven. Altough, the ways they might reach that goal are questionable. So, essentally, hell is chaotic neutral, while heaven lawful neutral.
@JulioSilly889 I imagine Hazbin Hotel doing the Heaven is boring plot point with Charlie Morningstar and I imagine it being similar to All Dogs Go To Heaven 2. One of my favorite movies.
"Your an angel just like us!!!!!!" "No question to be posed its unholy case closed did you forget that hell is forever" "If hell is forever then heaven must be a lie if angels can do whatever every made in the sky"
Very small detail. After Charlie says "That's what the fuck I've been saying", after Emily finishes her solo, they hold hands. After this, Emily flies to the top of the orb, dragging Charlie with her so they can start their shared part.
Did anyone else notice that in the moment that Emily realized Sera wasn't the role model she thought, there was an eye on her halo and chest, but in no other part of the song?
If you recall the pilot episode. You can see whenever she "Flares-up" emotionally, her true form manifests itself. Intense spikes of emotion do that, and with this scene, it's not hard figure she's gettin' a mite bit... Pissed.
What I don't get is why they held the meeting without expecting it to come up at all. It's a major part of why Charlie was there, wouldn't she mention it?

This song is so amazing
The shift in genres (especially Lute’s interlude)
The harmonies between Lute and Adam not to mention Emily and Charlie! (That close harmony is amazing)
The drop into cut time for impact at Emily and Charlie’s duet
ITS SO COMPLEX AND GOES SO HARD I LOVE IT
It's pretty cool that when Emily stares into the orb in horror, the hellfire doesn't reflect in her eyes, but when Sera comes up behind her, the fire is in *hers*.
Sera made the decision to do the Exterminations.
@@angelacooper8973
The fire reflection in her eyes reminds me of the song Hellfire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame although I hope Sera doesn't become another Frollo.
I rewatched the show and it seems that Lucifer more or less allowed it too cause he was sentenced to only see what humans did with the free will he granted in a bad enough way they ended in hell. He lost all hopes and thats partially why hes battening depression.
I wonder if the Fire would reflect im his eyes as well here.
It makes me really happy that the citizens (or jury?) of Heaven are just as confused and mortified to find out that the people of hell have been being slaughtered. It proves that they aren't heartless and they find it just as unacceptable as Emily.
Right? Especially that one angel who kinda resembles Stolas in Helluva Boss. He looks genuinely heartbroken.
Well Heaven can't be full of assholes. Sera was trying to keep them ignorant because "ignorance is bliss".
@@hannahdavis5725also "ignorance is innocence". If there is a calling to account regarding the sinners, Sera has set it up so that she'll take the majority of the blame: as one of the few who knows, as the person who authorized it.

I imagine an All Dogs Go To Heaven version of this song and here's who is who
Charlie Barkin as Charlie Morningstar
Sasha as Vaggie
Annabelle as Emily
Chief as Sera
Red as Adam
Belladonna as Lute
I love All Dogs Go To Heaven and Hazbin Hotel.
love how the angelic council is just watching the tea and seeing the Seraphim Queen get roasted
"don't you act all high and mighty" i love that part
I LOVE that the instruments become more ominous/evil when Adam says that
Real, idk why but I like the part while he says usssssss
Ha! He’s one to take!
I adore how Adam is almost always smiling and Lute is almost always scowling, when they're put next to each other it looks really neat.

Yeah and I imagine a Satanic and a Christian singing Charlie and Emily's part to show people the hypocrisy of Religious Beliefs.
Everyone being hella confused about everything, Charlie not understanding how the angels truly believe they're in the right, Emily not knowing about the extermination at all, Adam and Lute not getting why any of it matters because they're already dead, nobody understands anything during the song.
And this my friends is why this song is called “you didn’t know”
@@michaelchance6125 I think Eve is fit for bad guy material for future seasons, but I could be wrong. Anyways, I think this is because she would be thirsty for revenge. Like she accidentally caused hell to happen and then was most likely banished to hell.
"WHAT ARE WE EVEN TALKING ABOUT?!"
Their duet gives me chills. “If hell is forever then heaven must be a lie …”
The whole sequence was an incredible rollercoaster of emotion for Charlie and Emily.
Including Vaggie.
Ngl, I love it when Charlie lets the sheer boiling fury inside her at the situation in Hell bubble to the surface a bit.

I honestly dislike crashing motifs (like Jesus Christ Superstar for example) but I love this
Which makes sense. You have 3-4 different views/motives all clashing and battling each other. With a dynamic change due to the fact that every character and party has secrets with each other party and as they get revealed the situation and motive changes.

Omfg i loved this observation!!
One of the most questionable things to me is currency existing in heaven.

It did transform back, if you slow the frames down, it shows that it didn’t just teleport back lol
If you recall the pilot episode. You can see whenever she "Flares-up" emotionally, her true form manifests itself. Intense spikes of emotion do that, and with this scene, it's not hard figure she's gettin' a mite bit... Pissed.

Did Adam Seriously forget he is in a Room filled with Angels? He Decided to Open his big Mouth about the Exterminations
He has a massive ego and it isn’t surprising that he would do that
Adam isnt exactly the smartest. When its between him egostroking himself, or not doing something really stupid, he picks the first option
