So as I understand it, there is no real difference between what we have now (considering you have installed PimaxXR/OpenXR and Quadviews) and the integration of OpenXR into the Pimax Play software other than making the software and headset easier to use? Is there a performance increase?
I can't seem to get consistent info on smart smoothing. Is it as smooth as oculus asw on link cable? Currently when I lock asw on at 45fps my msfs is smooth as silk. Would the Pimax be as smooth in comparison?
I use both quest 3 and pimax crystal. Before I use the quest I have to change pimaxXR back to steam in pimaxXR. Is this easy to do inside of pimax software or does exiting out of pimax work? I like the clarity of the pimax but like the ease of use and passthrough of the quest (wish I could see/use my realsimgear with the passthrough.
hello there. Totally new to the pimax thing. I've been running the HPreverb G2 2nd gen until I got a Pimax 8K+. I have a RTX4070 and I cant seem to get MSFS to work at all unless I set everything down in quality quite a bit. where the guages in all of my planes are almost unreadable. Currently my Reverb puts the pimax 8k+ to shame. What exactly am I doing wrong? Is this new Beta Pimax recommended for the older Pimax 8k+ or don't bother? any tips would be awesome. Also, I thought you were saying that you're operating outside the steam, like directly? how to do that would be awesome info. sorry for the newbie basic questions. i.e, I have to set VR all to medium vs setting the HPrvrb to Ultra. also I've had to set the app specific resolution to much lower to get it to work on the pimax 8k+ SHOULD I JUST GET A CRYSTAL?? Would that be night and day different in quality??
Trade in get a Crystal..hence forth!! Fov will be a bit less..I have no experience with the 8k.. however my guess it's a high resolution headset that's why you can't get a clear picture..hard on y GPU
@@Simmymind360 yep I literally just placed an order for the pimax Crystal Light last thursday. You're right about the CPU hog. My graphics card isn't even getting touched. Still says 100%head room. I have found that I have to over-ride the resolution down to 2500x2200 to get it to work anywhere near playable. I'm wondering if I can just pop in a better CPU. I have an i7 12th gen currently with RTX 4070 card 12VRAM and 32RAM for the main.
@@stvcolwill i wouldn't change the CPU it's a good match for your GPU...you will and should get the Pimax Play update soon..as it has upscale on it and also will come with Pimax XR and open XR..when he said bypass Steam..there is a all called open composite..it gives you a choice to use steam VR or Open composite..use open composite as it will bypass Steam VR and run your steam VR Games way smoother..also do some homework on the you tube videos regarding this

crazy when i come out of the menu my plane goes full power and all flap slats are out. annoying in the menu bug

Yep, Pass through is an awesome feature when working with real hardware. I struggle with the same (having to memorize visually where things are).
So smart smoothing doesn’t flash anymore? Because mine does…
Yes my did that also when I had Smart Smoothing on.. hopefully this update will fix it

Don’t buy 4090 i swapped my gpu from 4080 to 4090 not worth it the change was few fps
