Thanks very much for your kind words, it means heaps! I need to do more of this, I've just been really busy with my band and other life things, so haven't had the time to sit down and try and figure out more HIL songs! But it's on the list of things to do! Cheers!
I remember the day I heard HIL the first time 4/19/2004. Was a pivotal time in my life. Either they decorated..... and You Sound Like a White Boy. Literally changed my life trajectory.
Thanks! Yeah I had the benefit of being in New Zealand and having this song release this morning for us haha! Gave me a bit of time to listen and learn. Appreciated!
I’ve been following these guys since their first record. They get better every time and I just can’t figure out how. Haha. I want to spend a day inside Adam’s head to figure out his technique.
Totally, he's such a unique guitarist. Every time I try and learn/figure out one of their songs, I find myself having to throw out all the normal conventions I would expect to us (especially diatonically) in favour of just trusting my ear and realising he's doing so much out of the box stuff!
Adam is the author of my favorite musical moments of all time. God, that bridge to Widow of Magnolia. Every time I listen to them I think "Damn. Why couldn't I have thought of that?!"
Started listen HiL in 2004 and I think exactly the same. Every album I think "that's their peak", but I'm always wrong! I wish I could see them live, but I'm from Brasil... little far away.
Man your He Is Legend covers are always killer 🤘. Just sayin you should do some taps or '"how to play" vids! would love to learn He Is Legend more accurately
@@thereignofdando I was gonna ask the same question, I knew it was down in G but that’s really interesting! Sounds like you played it perfectly so I believe it! 👍🤘
Thanks! The pickups are exclusive to the guitar - the builder of the guitar (Dan Memory/Oni Guitars) also winds the pickups/shapes the bobbins to fit the guitar, so unfortunately I don't really have anything to compare them to.
Thank you - in answer to the string gauge, not thick enough haha. I’m only running 10-52 on this guitar. Ideally for that low G I’d want about a 64-70 but didn’t want to have to cut the nut and stuff for one cover
Sorry for the delay I never got the notifications! I wasn’t quite sure (whether it’s what Adam tuned to) but I tuned it (low to high) G G C G A D. It’s basically drop C with the top dropped down to G, and the F string raised a tone. I’m not sure at all if that’s right, but it worked haha.
My thoughts exactly on HiL, based on the description, even 91025 is still innovative to me. Very well done sir!!
Dude you knocked this out of the park! I'd love to hear you do more covers from their Endless Hallway album. Great cover man!

hell yeah
Album of the year. Great cover btw
This song is so gloriously BRUTAL!
My favorite album from 2022!
Absolutely! Endless Hallway and Circle's EP 'The Stories We Are Afraid Of', my musical cup has overflowed!
Awesome mate.
this was sick.
YUH YUH YUH!!!!! NICE

Good job man!
This track and cover are nasty. I cannot WAIT for the new album
Damn good
Already???!!! Nice

It’s unavailable in Vietnam where I’m currently based. Had to use a VPN to listen.
This would make my HIL greatest hits. Awesome song.
Nice dude.
That tone. 👌🏼 Bravo.
Thanks! Archetype Petrucci is so massive!
Such a sick cover! You gotta send me the details of that tone so I can put it on my Quad Cortex man!

@@Deschain-um7jz HiL is my perfect type of band. I even have a bit of envy. A good envy. :)
@@Deschain-um7jzbro, same. My favorite song to play. I mean, every riff in that song is cool and unique. Blew my mind when I first learned it.

Fuckin pristine my friend👌🏼
Thank you so much!
They are the best, ADAM MAN & DR CROOM
They are legends! (No pun intended)
The bouz crew
Incredibly good! Especially with how new this track is. Share the tuning? :)
Thank you! I wasn’t quite sure of how Adam does the repeat of the intro riff up the octave, so i guessed the tuning is (low to high) G G C G A D.
@@thereignofdando I was gonna ask the same question, I knew it was down in G but that’s really interesting! Sounds like you played it perfectly so I believe it! 👍🤘
Sick cover and guitar! What kind of pickups do you use??

jeez. what gauge strings did you have on this? haha sick cover.

@@thereignofdando SHEEEESHHHH couldn't even tell it was that thin on the low G haha. Doggone, sounded good man.
@@shogunc7718 Thanks, honestly I had to tune it slightly out of tune, so when I was laying into it, it would be in tune. Such a pain in the butt haha.
@@thereignofdando yeah I've done similar before. Only went down to A on a 52 though. Can only imagine another whole step down haha.
Could you list what the tuning is? Killer cover!
Thanks mate! I wasn't 100% certain that this is the correct tuning as played by Adam T, but I tuned G, G C G A D (low to high)

Call me crazy but I can't hear your playing at all, maybe it's just my speakers....
What a waste of a good guitar
Haha other, more technical things get played on it, but it was the only guitar that I have that could handle a low G.
