He gave a really quite level headed answer and of course, the media frames it as "They're silly" and puts a picture of Triple H poking an AEW bear.....
The first company that threw the first stone was HHH calling it a pissant company, which led to the hate from AEW. When you turn around and say you don't see them as a competition, then call them pissant.. that will rub anyone the wrong way lol
Nick Aldis has been a great GM. One of the better GMs we've had over the last few decades on WWE. He has an aura where he feels like he does has authority. He doesn't just get steamrolled over. He even put the bloodline in their place whenever they got too big for their shoes which was really refreshing to watch. A lot of credit to Paul Heyman for that as well for selling it as such. To go from smug and cocky to realizing he can't roll over Aldis as he did Adam Pearce. Having said that, Adam Pearce has been really good over the past few months as well.
Took me a while to get onboard the Nick Aldis train, but I have to say... I really enjoy his work on Smackdown. Both he and AP have really stepped up. They're both credible in their roles and help move the story along.
Bless for asking the question straight up and bless Aldis for not dancing around it while still giving an honest accursre answer. The idea there was ever a war here is silly. AEW only ever went head on with NXT, they won but it was still WWEs C show. They've really toned down the shots taken and the fact that Cody and to a lesser degree, Ethan Page have found success, there is a good indicator any bad blood has mostly passed and both sides get to do their own thing.
"It's silly on their part". This ladies and gentlemen is why AEW will never be on the same par as 90s WCW was in competition with the the WWF now WWE. When the people on the other side of the aisle both inside and outside of management don't take you seriously, that should serve as a huge wakeup call.
I remember when Kurt went back, they said he might have some ring rust as he hadn't set foot in a wrestling ring in over 10 years lol... RRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEARLY?!?!?!?!?!!??!?!
Hopefully one day AEW can stop with this “war” in their minds and there be a professional relationship between the two like WWE has started doing with TNA, New Japan and etc. the Pro Wrestling War that should’ve been the last WWE vs. WCW, no reason to work against each other, work together make the business better for all.
I really hope Aldis goes back to wrestling again. I think HHH is wasting his talent as a GM. Hes an excellent worker with the promo skills to back it up. He's also only 37.
It's like that two year old kid who throws a tantrum because he wants to play with something you're using or sometimes even for no reason. As an adult, you don't give children the attention they crave if their way of garnering that attention is via a tantrum. You ignore the tanty throwing toddler and they quiet down on their own.
Tony Khan had no clue how great Cody was until he lost him. He had one of the top 5 superstars in wrestling working with him and he had a hard time letting him write/plan some of the matches. Cody knows more about wrestling than Khan and the Young Bucks combined.
I really think that the WWE is doing the fans a disservice, by keeping Aldis and Pearce as on screen GM's. I mean if they both enjoy what they're doing, fine. But I'd like to at least see a match between the two of them. I really think that Aldis will do great when (or if) he wrestles there. Pearce I can see doing a match here and there, but he is Punk's contemporary. Meaning that, (much like with Punk) he'd probably want to make what matches he's got left in him, mean something. Finally, if they are both "done" wrestling, they're still great on the mic. Edit: I also just checked, they do a lot of good backstage as well. So I guess what I should say, is that we should be happy to see them on screen in any capacity. They're giving to the next generation, what could be better.
I love AEW fans attacking WWE when AEW is full of former WWE wrestlers and, aside from MJF, TK is burying its own stars. Beat NXT is not the brag AEW really needs.
@@RedKingdom28 and now they're going to be bigger stars since more people will watch them and since NXT is going to free TV but hey lets forget that most current NXT talents are also college athletes that never went to the indies.
The funny part is when years ago, how AEW fans would scream like toddlers about how any and every wrestler would be booked better outside of WWE ... How is that going for most (nearly all) of them ex-WWE talent in AEW now?
That'd be like TNA in 2005 bragging about beating OVW in ratings, yeah it's a victory, but it's a small one. It'd be a big deal if AEW was beating RAW and SmackDown in the ratings, but they can't even go past a million when RAW and SmackDown do it every week
Wwe is now ran by somebody more... not fan minded, but he is more aware of Internet type sh*t. So whilst Vince just pretended they werethe centre of the universe, HHH is wont for having fun at their expense (and believe me, with a lot of their fans, it is quite a substantial expense 😂)
Aldis is right They really r silly, they wanna compete and have war with WWE. Instead of that Tony Khan could simply Collab with triple h Like TNA is doing R8 now .. That will give them more success And us fans will get to see WWE superstars at AEW ppv and AEW stars in WWE ppv.. Just imagine Cena is having a mic segment And Kenny Omega interrupts him up 💀
What he states is true but… he was also literally in a war with wwe himself when he represented TNA as the world champion, the time TNA was literally trying to go head to head with them 😅
He has forgotten Triple H's "that pissant company" comment at the hall of fame. He got along with Cody and Bucks before AEW so he should know about all the ceases and desist WWE threw against them just because. Many people think that AEW started this back and forth because they don't remember or don't know about this guy's history with WWE.
Crazy AEW had a chance to get Aldis, for years. Just like Jacob Fatu. They didn't capitalize. Kinda the story of AEW. Not capitalizing on great opportunities.
AEW is WCW 2.0, it's best for business for there to be competition, but not a monopoly. Best content for everyone is when they're trying to out do each other, just as long as no one wins the war.

So it's silly when AEW takes shots at WWE, but it's OK when Hunter and WWE do it? It's all stupid, irregardless of who does it. Let's not be hypocritical.
Aldis is wise 👍 We need to see Brutus Magnus one time in WWE. Maybe for Thanksgiving.
WWE minds their own business
The bear ain't aew.. the bear is mjf😂
I feel like MJF a the voice that WBD loves so they aren't going to punish AEW for anything he(or AEW asks) him to say.
I'm here for it. Let them both take jabs at each other 😂 it gets people talking.
Lol
Its not the 90’s when it was mainstream there is no competition to the wwe
Which is why WWE name checked the other promotion Tony Khan owns
That's not really true. Your so called "GOAT" John cena himself said in this day and age everything is competition because everything is trying to get your attention. And I agree with him
Most fans are casuals. They don’t care much for the wrestling, they want superstars and good storylines
@@muhammadHassan-kj1jyif WWE really considered AEWho to be legit competition, they'd put Raw or Smackdown on Wednesdays opposite Dynamite and end AEWho. The last 2 weeks, Dynamite couldn't even beat WWE's developmental show in the ratings. AEWho is NOT legit competition for WWE.
Aew atp in time is not a competition lol, back in 2019 yeah. Now, no way
He gave a really quite level headed answer and of course, the media frames it as "They're silly" and puts a picture of Triple H poking an AEW bear.....
Nick needs to wrestle at least once in #WWE
It’s reminds me of WCE fighting WWF long time ago ❤️🔥🔥
But Cody became "Cody" on the Indies. He nearly was boo'd out of the building every night for the last year of his AEW run.
When you're the best you don't worry about the rest. WWE is the best!!! 🙌
Took me a while to get onboard the Nick Aldis train, but I have to say... I really enjoy his work on Smackdown. Both he and AP have really stepped up. They're both credible in their roles and help move the story along.
Why should WWE market their competition?
aew comparing themselves to wwe is like me comparing my beer league baseball team to the new york yankees lol
Classy AF answer! 🫡
I get what he's saying, but let's be real here, the bear is WWE, gratiously ignoring some little woodland rodent gnawing at its butt.
Nick has a future being one of the major player in the WWE management for sure like a great PR for them.
Probably my favorite GM since teddy long
This is literally if Jamaica went to war with America. A small island compared to a gigantic continent.
Him and Cody at All In is such an underrated match.
They named dropped ever place Cody wrestled except for AEW what’s the reason
Gimme a traditional 5v5 Survivor Series match RAW vs SmackDown with Pierce and Aldis being part of it
Hopefully one day AEW can stop with this “war” in their minds and there be a professional relationship between the two like WWE has started doing with TNA, New Japan and etc.
the Pro Wrestling War that should’ve been the last WWE vs. WCW, no reason to work against each other, work together make the business better for all.
Wwe doesn't have a relationship with njpw
It's not silly it's best for the industry to have battles
WWE isn’t competing with AEW plus (they don’t need to)AEW is competing with WWE
Man that’s Magnus lol
I really hope Aldis goes back to wrestling again. I think HHH is wasting his talent as a GM.
Hes an excellent worker with the promo skills to back it up.
He's also only 37.
It's like that two year old kid who throws a tantrum because he wants to play with something you're using or sometimes even for no reason. As an adult, you don't give children the attention they crave if their way of garnering that attention is via a tantrum. You ignore the tanty throwing toddler and they quiet down on their own.
Magnus vs AJ Styles in the BFG 2013 Tournament is still my favorite match of all time. Love Nick Aldis
Nick aldis is great, so glad wwe finally gave him the opportunity.
I'm so happy that Magnus got his shot at the big time.
THANK YOU SIR NICK ALDIS
He's so matured
Why would #1 company give a shit about #4?
#2 TNA #4
Nick will be an ambassador for years if he keeps being this diplomatic lol
Nick has been awesome.
Imagine if they all got alone. Some of the "dream" matches there could be
He didn't say "They're silly. He said what they are trying to do is silly. Small difference but still a difference.
The poking part is a highlight here!
I consider this as jockying more than war. War is good for business, yet the fallout is one side is collateral damage, that is not the case here.
Wanna see Magnus back in the ring man 😢
Great answer. Nick Aldis is old school.
"You could've asked me about anything! You could've asked me about AEW!" - Sami Zayn
Tony Khan had no clue how great Cody was until he lost him. He had one of the top 5 superstars in wrestling working with him and he had a hard time letting him write/plan some of the matches. Cody knows more about wrestling than Khan and the Young Bucks combined.
Smartest thing I've ever heard Aldis say.
This guy is the Law of Smackdown
I love AEW fans attacking WWE when AEW is full of former WWE wrestlers and, aside from MJF, TK is burying its own stars. Beat NXT is not the brag AEW really needs.
and WWE is filled with ex ROH, NJPW talent, and now some AEW stars.
@RedKingdom28 get lost skunk
He didn’t say, “They’re silly.” That’s not how quotations work. You can’t just change the words. 🤦♂️
Didnt WWE do it first on a TV show during a Sami segment in, like, 2018-2019?
Aldis is right
They really r silly, they wanna compete and have war with WWE.
Instead of that Tony Khan could simply Collab with triple h
Like TNA is doing R8 now ..
That will give them more success
And us fans will get to see WWE superstars at AEW ppv and
AEW stars in WWE ppv..
Just imagine
Cena is having a mic segment
And Kenny Omega interrupts him up 💀
You do know that wwe just started working with other promotions while aew has been doing it since the start of the company
Silly now yes but in the 90s it actually meant something between wwe an wcw XD
What he states is true but… he was also literally in a war with wwe himself when he represented TNA as the world champion, the time TNA was literally trying to go head to head with them 😅
"Silly on their part" and "they're silly" are two different things. Don't twist words!
Great answer
Saying AEW have been hostile and that WWE haven't been hostile is a flat out lie!
Anyone who thinks AEW is “coming at WWE” doesn’t watch AEW.
If aew just locked in and don’t worry about wwe they could be massive plus it would probably open connections with wwe
Tony Clown's incompetence is the reason.
What are the chances of MJF coming to WWE ?
Likely nil, now. MJF is wasting his prime years, and he'll likely injure himself long before he has another chance at WWE.
@@jesuszamora6949oh ok
He got a lil AEW tattoo on his leg and even if it was fake it's still a 'fuck you' to WWE
@@ScreamingLordRocky - WWE won't give a crap about a fake tattoo...... Or the odd promo that mocks them..... If they appreciate the talent and the timing is right they'll hire him/them.
The list of guys that shit-talked them and then got hired is endless.
Nick's shoulders are insane.
If “what the actual wrestlers themselves thought about tribalism” was a person.
Nick Aldis is easily the best GM WWE has had since Teddy Long and Eric Bischoff.
Settle it at survivor series😂
People need to stop acting like WWE doesn't throw shots either
Facts 🔥🔥
As long as TK is still in control Aew will never improve
All AEW need is to tap into Indian market by conducting and expanding in India, it will give them access to eyeballs in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. That is more than 2 billion people, majority of whom already hold interest in wrestling. They will get plenty of attention on media and get momentum, they can start a wrestling show in prime time of market and a show to discuss and interact with fans in the evening slot, and boom they will be famous. From there they can go wherever they want.
A class act. 😊
I'm glad Aldis is getting an executive career that he couldn't get as a performer in WWE. You can trot him out in front of shareholders all day and he'll always say the right thing. Just a brilliant business move.
i think he's lying saying that WWE doesn't position themselves in clear opposition of AEW. there's a reason why aew feels that way and he's pretty clearly leaving that part out
Aldis is correct.
It doesn't matter if it's AEW poking at WWE; WWE poking at AEW; AEW fans poking at WWE or their fans; or WWE fans poking at AEW or their fans.
The whole tribalism bs is silly.
I'm an old man. I happily enjoy watching both companies.
Nick's an awesome sign for triple H
