I get to see this CRV often and the video does it no justice on actually how high it is. Jake has mad fab and wrenching skills. It definitely takes a creative visionary with patience and planning to come up with a one of a kind set up like this!!! Great work!!!
Could still do a basic 3 inch lift and better wheels/tires. My crv is 2wd with basic all season tires and it will still go places. Can also buy a wrecked awd and swap the trans drive line and rear subframe over. A winch also will get you a lot of awkward places. Reverse is also your friend with fwd. really it’s good for fast trails and light mud/big puddles. I love splashing around in mine. Never underestimate what a 2wd can do. Just build it right and stay within its limits!
@@stormmccree8238oh i agree with you she is a beast with the 1.5 inch lift and no subframe drops or anything. Also ive bought an awd 2002 since and been looking for thr right time to transfer all upgrades over from my 05.
@@tomasashenafi882 the 2002 is the 2nd gen right? With the K series? I specifically love the first generation crv looks wise. Also the B20 is easy to work on and mod.
@@stormmccree8238 yep. 02-06 are 2nd gen with the timeless ivetc 2.4. But the 05-06 has all the modern perks including a 5 speed automatic. Too bad my mom chose a fwd lx back in 2007. The 02 is a lot like the 1st gen with a light build. Mine only has 81k.
Thanks man! Im going to redo mine I made the mistake of using 3m super 77 spray adhesive, when I should have used the super 99. I will also probably add the wraith star lights too, the ricer in me wants them. Haha!
Very nice. Mines still a work in progress. I did want to tell you I added a solar panel with extra battery(2 now) and a 4,000 watt power inverter. That stuff gets used more than I had expected .
I have a 1998 CR-V and I felt it so hard when you said “it’s a 98 so it’s got an ugly dash” lol, even worse is mine is the LX model from that year but it’s only got 88k miles!
I would like to install long travel suspension due to our road surface kinda rough. Like a baja CR V. Thanks for the video by the way, gives me planty of idea.
I don't have nothing like that.....but did put an HRG 2" lift on my 2003. Tires are 235/75's and I have an axle vibration that is driving me nuts. I already put the 1" subframe drop in it too. Any ideas?
Did you upgrade the lower ball joints? Freaking stock ball joints are too small for even a stock set up it seems. It would be awesome to bullet proof everything, then beef it up!
No the problem everyone has is they cheap out and get shit parts. I run oem ball joints and keep up with my car. They've never failed me even going airborne a bunch of times. I snapped the rear trailing arm off the chassis and snapped them in half before hurting a ball joint.
Yo bro I had a question I did a stock suspension 2inch lift 2 in trailing arm spacer but in the rear when I’m driving on freeway and I run into a dip my car swerves from left to right like if I’m loosing control what could that issue be would really appreciate your help
Dude how is the transmission holding up? I’ve got a lifted 2001. Not as lifted and not as big as tires but it does have a rack ram bars instead of a bumper lol I feel the trans starting to slip a bit some I’m wondering how yours is holding up. What would you do if your trans did go out? I’m thinking of a beefed up automatic for comfort but might go 5 speed if it simply doesn’t make sense to build an auto.
I broke one axle when i had the 32s. (My fault not the cars) Ive blown a rear diff when being pulled from a ditch in the snow. Grenaded as soon as the back tire found pavement. And yeah there isnt a regearing option for me unfortunately. So im going to pick up the head today to start building a high comp turbo engine to make up for that.
i wrote honda rescue garage a couple times now and never got a response. maybe its just my horrible luck... i want to lift my 91 integra and need to know what parts to buy
That's a cool car, not seeing something like that on street every day. Just something personal friendly tips that you may wanna be careful on your oil pan when you actually go offroad with it
Oh yeah i keep a spare oil pan 😂 no worries i know its a little low. But still higher than a jeeps front axle on the same size tire. 👍 havent hit it before but theres always a chance i slide off a rock onto it haha
Just gotta know its limitations and drive it off the clutch as much as possible but offroading is hard on it i smoke the clutch out on stops on inclines but it is what it is. I have fun beating on it.
ok NEED the specs on that stereo!!! i have to replace mine in my truck and in my CR-V and I dig that one! also can you fill me in on the armrest situation, my wifes ONLY issue with our cr-v is that she doesnt have an arm rest.
I search through junk yards for arm rests the bolt threads are there you jusy need the arm rest and bracket. And its jusg an andriod radio off ebay from china for 80$
How do the QA1 springs compare to stock springs as far as overall length. Im looking at OME springs which I believe will give a 1.75 lift....but Im not sure about their spring rate. I like to explore the desert out by Barstow/Mojave. My biggest issue is bottoming out the suspension on whoops and catching some rocks on the trail. So what I really need is higher spring rate and just a slight lift. I kinda fell into using this thing (I usually take my Duramax) and searched for solutions out of necessity.
Never had ome springs so i couldnt tell you how they stack up or if the qa1 springs will give you a lift by themselves since ive never tried. They went on the same time as the flipped top hats and the bigger spacers. So im not sure if they give amy lift over factory just by themselves on a stock top hat/shock setup.
See you do a lot with the cr-v and was wounding, not wanting to add a lot of height . I was wanting to know if a 1.5 -2 inch lift still needs a sub frame drop kit ? Thanks , Gary .
If you were still wondering, my CRV has a 1.5 inch lift without subframe spacers. Ive heard that 2inches starts to require more parts and work to make it compatible. I was able to fit 30in tires on mine though, so I am happy with the small (and much simpler) lift.
Sweet build I’m looking for one of these big time I like them more and more I see! I don’t need a “hardcore 4x4” but something like this would be perfect for my needs maybe with like bigger tires and 4 inch lift.also engine wise they use the B series stuff right so any B Honda can be swapped in?
So would you recommend deleting the sway bars I've broken 2 passenger front end links in about 6 months but. Both times was due to some rough terrain it makes lots of noise wen one breaks even though it's not a big deal and the parts are not very expensive but it's a pain to keep replacing would it ruin my daily drivability if I just deleted it all together ?
Dude, this is the most beastly crv I’ve ever seen
