Can I just say, as someone who has literally never seen your account, hasn't been told of it or recommended, and blindly stumbling across this while playing Minecraft myself, that this is remarkable and deserves so much more recommendation and attention than it has received. Even if you were to go faster than the speed of light (which is not possible and you will die way before) You still won't be able to escape the event horizon. That's because the space itself is going towards the singularity. That means that every direction is the same direction. if you try to escape you will only get faster to the singularity. Scary right? Also Getting to the event horizon means you need to pass first the accretion disc which is matter that goes around the black hole in almost the speed of light. Means it's way hotter than the sun, you will probably melt away or die from radiation. Getting to the event horizon will also kill you by stretching you and shred you to sub-atomic particles. We don't know yet if the singularity is a solid object. some scientist says it's an event in the future where space has infinite density. Don't worry nobody knows what it means as well.
