Pop a bleach tablet in your grey water tank. It should kill the smells and mould. Buy them in Sainsburys etc. Why not cut down your table and use just one support (might need to move it over slightly to centralise) keep the offcut for use with both supports as and when required.
Totally agree with the reversing camera; an absolute must. I have retrofitted two cameras to the back of my van. One is a reversing camera, fitted low down and triggered from the reversing lamp, linked to the monitor by a cheap wireless transmitter/receiver. The image is more than adequate for reversing. The second camera is used as a rear view mirror substitute. This one is mounted at about head level and is hardwired through to the same monitor; there was interference if I tried to connect using a second wireless option. The cabling is all under the van and then taken into the cabin through the battery box and run behind the panelling to the monitor. A button on the monitor lets me select which camera I want to view. I am using a monitor that fastens to the existing rear view mirror. I manged to fit both cameras for less than £100 with items from ebay. Maybe not the best items, but they work perfectly well and lets me know whats behind me.
It a hinge on your table so you can flip it up gown the middle to the sides. Hang your chair to the back door. Get a spring rod for your shade or use pillow cases for a shade
On your garage hate. I have a door from the inside of my van for under the bed. Really handy So i can reach both sides easily. And its raining or want to be more descrete. Dnt have to get out of the van. 👍🙌👍
Our van has weak points but there is nothing we hate about it. (yet 😁) Apollo will strike back at your lowest ebb for washing it’s dirty laundry on the tube 😁👍. All good points though and the biggest one I wouldn’t enjoy would be emptying that waste water. We don’t have a grey water tank and make do with a small sealable box we keep in the sink which gets emptied once a day. We have our water usage down to absolute minimum waste now so that helps a lot. May you be warm and toasty 👍
Get a "reversing" camera that mounts to your license plate, and run the cable up under the body to the front of the vehicle. That is what I have done on all my vehicles.
In my build my table is movable on a arm rather then static to the floor. The arm can rotate out and behind the drivers chair. An option could be for you having a smaller table or one that is hinged to give you clearance to the fridge. I went with a lighter material just some mdf with a basic vinyl wrap to change its look. My reasoning would be if I ever need to replace it I simply can for cheap & salvage what I can from the previous table. My solution for the blind situation was actually presented by someone on youtube that I just directly copied. Magnetic blinds. They simply deploy quickly. The only problem is finding a place to put them when not in use. But fortunately there are plenty of tucking places. My garage is alot cleaner then yours but to be fair that is a function of one less person & I tend to be a little ocd with organising. Plus I can access the garage 3 ways. From the back, by lifting the bed (which is assisted) & a cupboard door just under the bed. I found extra access points make the job .... slightly easier. As for grey water tank. For the smell Eucalyptus oil is supposed to work. I would also assume tea tree oil too. Given its anti-microbial & anti-fungal properties. Just pour some down the drain after a few uses.
We don't have a rear view either using the centre mirror so we fitted 2 rear cameras, one looking back like a regular mirror view and the second looking straight down so I can see the position of the van to the inch. The screen has a button to switch between them. It works well. All the best, Pete
Yes I agree no aircon is bad, we have the same van and suffered the same fate in the south of France. I fitted a speed control to my fan so I can slow it down, this makes it a lot quieter. As for the waist I fitted a standard 5 gallon tank underneath with an overflow so if you forget to drain it it will just poor out underneath, maybe you could fit an overflow to your tank to prevent water inside the van.
Thanks!! I am planning my conversion and you reinforced some of my convictions!! I will have air conditioning, 2 good vents and a MAxAir, Will be careful with the choice of blinds, get underslung tanks, Reverse camera is a must I could not live without!! Our first van we went for had a roof bed, thinking great it’s up there out the way leave it made up everyday, It was a good size too. But I hated it. Just discovered your channel (now subscribed), love your honesty - those cheap roller blinds are a nightmare (always breaking)...trust me I deal with them in carehome where I work on a regular basis - I would suggest a simple `hand roll up blind` that you can hold in place using hooks or turn button press studs/eyelets (you see them used on boats to hold tarp canopies in place) + two tabs with normal press studs to hold them up = easy to take down & wash, or consider using a `hook & loop tape fastener` which you can sew-on & staple gun in place = a bit like velcro but much much stronger and longer lasting.

I'm just starting to build my H3L4 Boxer. I have gone for the two front swivels (not even fitted yet) but my lay out is the more traditional twin seat behind the driver's seat. The table is on a slide and the folding leg allows me to store the table top behind the forward facing twin seat. Im wondering if you could fit a lift up section under your bed so you could access things from the inside of your van, that are stored in your garage area? Instead of having to take everything out the back.
Poor Apollo!!! We had a similar list when we upgraded but I retrofitted a few of yours (captains chairs, camera wired under van).
