The game all around feels like its randomly falling apart. Random lag spikes, people struggling to keep connection alot of time, and the audio have been so awful lately. Cant really hear any flanks.

Mauga was obviously designed with 6v6 in mind. I remember a loooong time ago they said there was a Talon tank in Development and he was a counter to Winston. Mauga in a 6v6 format where he would have around 450-500 hp wouldn't be as oppressive since you could have 2 tanks, and tanks wouldn't need to have that less critical damage taken modifier. Mauga is just impossible to kill. Any hero that REQUIRES Counterwatch is problematic and needs to be removed from the game. If the enemy team picks Mauga you HAVE to play Ana, like you actually HAVE to, and then they pick Kiri and now it's pointless and you just have to mirrorwatch.

But Overwatch 2 is nothing but hard counters that completely shut down certain characters and that’s horrible game design, 5v5 is the main catalyst for this.
As a Rein one trick, Mauga honestly desperately needed those buffs because he's just awful. His sustain absolutely nosedives against a shield hero, his Ult is catch-as-catch and can literally be more dangerous to him than the enemy Team, and Ana is the bane of his existance. He only really counters Hog, and that's not a given tbh.
Pharah's ult should stay the same but make it an activated ult that gives you a timer, and while the timer is active she's making loud ass siren noises and her rocket pods are overheating and hissing and shit. easy .
Then no one plays her cuz of how bad her ult is. And it's not just Pharah that's irritating, lately even tires and movement abilities have been getting WAY too hard to hear.

I wish they would recognize that “they, people hate orisa, hog, and mauga, why don’t we leave them in a weaker state while we work on them”. For all the issues the Dva meta had, it was infinitely better for the game since other fun tanks were good to play against her.

dva meta is always aids, orisa is fine flats just complains far too fucking much. Orisa is an actual tank because she can survive whereas the others just get nuked immediately.
Orisa needs a rework, mauga needs a rework but Hog should get a small buff lile boosting his trap damage or making hook kills give back self heal cooldown.
They still need to nerf his stomp. Theres no reason it cant be interrupted. Everything else in his kit. I dont mind as much. But he shouldnt be able to just charge backline for free. But thats ow2 balance. It doesnt make sense.

I consider Ram and Mauga as prime examples of why 5v5 just doesn't work. They do to much, and they make interacting with or against them boring, but they are also necessary due to a solo tank situation. I'm intrigued by how 6v6 will impact these characters. I actually think taking away or severely weakening elements of their kit will make them more interesting. Mauga being the ultimate initiator but having little sustain, or Ram being a second dedicated poke tank with some mediocre peel is way more interesting to me than the current situation in the game.
i dont think ram is that bad i know rein mains hate him but ram is fine his block is stupid though it should be on a resource meter similar to defense matrix

And yeah, block causes a lot of problems, not the least of which it allows Ram to mitigate situations where he should, in theory, be countered. Something needs to be taken out of his kit. I was happy to see how little he mattered in Limit 2 but I don't see how they can balance his kit and keep him relevant for 6v6. And yes I know I'm working under the assumption that 6v6 will happen and will be the way forward.

His normal omnic form is quite squishy but unlike a hero like bastion where his recon is useless ram's normal form does give the advantage of poking over his nemesis form. I think they need to change his shield into a lower hp like 500/600 and make the cooldown faster I only really use his shield to block heals for enemy tank, or they could swap his shield out for like a 20% damage boost window or something and increase the cooldown.

Balancing an ability like that, that can just ignore the best mitigation tool tanks have (especially for the ranks that the VAST majority of players are in) is a huge problem for 6v6 balance. There are even more problems in his kit than that, like all the free healing he gets. Again, little to no counter-play. Even in 5v5 it's a problem. There have been so many instances where I'm pouring damage into him and he just ignores me and kills a healer while I do effectively nothing to him. Even solo ulting him when he makes a stupid push, he can just throw his arms up, erase the mistake, and gain ult advantage. It's bad design.

I love the concept of running in as a big burly mofo with TWO chainguns, but mauge really needs a rework, as he is now, he's overpowered in single encounters and a draw with mirror. And he dies instantly if the enemy has a ana, he just need a rework. He just dont feel fun, and its always what they losing team go to cause they know hes overpowered if the other team dont change to fight him
Flats is being a little silly here, Sigma would have worked significantly better, not only because he is good into Mauga, but because he can shield off the Pharah and not get constantly pelted with rockets.
Queen performs well for half a season (not even in an oppressive way) and Blizzard can't wait to shut it down in the mid-season patch. I bet now that Mauga is back its gonna be at least a full season or two before he gets toned down enough to not completely ruin the game.

I love Mauga, and have One-Tricked him since he released, but yeah, this was way too much. 5 second charge, good luck trying to CC him. I'd drop the Cooldown back to 7,maybe 7.5, and that would be more than fine. I'd keep the speed buff, as Mauga can use his charge for high-ground jump techs, some which are now only doable with that extra speed.
I don't think Flats playing mauga was any issue, the issue was their supports perfectly timing their cooldowns to erase any tank... and the only counter... Kiri
This might shock you, but if a character is under performing they should get Buffed. Even if their kit absolutely sucks. The balance team will eventually try and fix mauga

So how much of a percentage is skewed bc of players without the mechanics or knowledge to play the character correctly? We can talk about numbers all we want, but the application and interpretation of said stats isnt always right. Why do you think they almost always revert some of these micro buffs for some of these characters?

I don’t get why Mauga is still treated like a Roadhog since they reworked him. A Mauga running around the map slamming people is totally different than when he used to stand in the front holding L+R click two inches from their tank and not dying.

@@TinyLokiGaming People like many things. Doesn't mean its healthy for the game. Ana differs from the other stock supports is that her kit can be used proactively for little risk. Sure she's vulnerable but with >2 tanks and another support at her aid, the vulnerability is smaller. It's huge change from Overwatch's original high risk high reward gameplay that was commented on by the devs during Classic's launch.
Playing OW classic makes OW 2 feel less fun. The best thing they did to Overwatch was add roles, for me is the only downside to playing classic. OW2 only has 2 modes, take damage without health change, or take damage and explode. OW 1 didn't need burst damage to kill, you can always out damage heals, falling over is much different than exploding. Its the difference of a bad decision, vs WTH i had full heath. The latter feels horrible to play against.
Dear Overwatch balance team, If you ever think “Does Mauga need a buff” the answer should nearly always be no 😭 How many times do we need to have a god awful Mauga meta before you realise no one wants buffs to boring tanks (Mauga Orisa) and nerfs to fun tanks (JQ)

It really sad how much people hate this game I started on ow2 in season 7 had no idea what I was doing I just played mercy zen till I got tank in RQ I had no idea what I was doing they tank on the enemy team was playing orisa I was on ram cus he looked so cool I was not putting up a good fight my team said switch to sigma I locked in orisa cus sig looked way to hard and I’d already seen how the enemy was playing her I demolished the enemy team with an Ana pocket in far back I could not be stopped I diffed the enemy tank in seconds just gobbling up damage with spin fortifies into the lw mercy back line my dps dueled the other dps I speared one my dps finished em off I took a cass mag grenade my dps finished em off they didn’t have time to get back before we captured the point it was the first time ingame that i had done it I had tanked with everything I had at the time now there’s a good chance overwatch is gonna be taken off servers after everyone leaves for deadlock and rivals and I’ll be stuck with memories of a game I’d wanted to play for years finally got to and it turns out it was the worst version of it 😢
Bro you must be living under a rock. They nerfed Sombra into the ground which is a big part of why widow and mauga are running rampant right now. If they make invis a seperate cooldown from translocator and make hack last slightly longer the game would be healthier than its current state.

I used to enjoy playing orisa, mauga, and roadhog, but iv recently become a reinbro and I understand why flats hates them. honestly its the pharah and wreaking ball picks that give me absolute fits tho. I'm strongly in favor of pin temporarily hacking tanks. If you could stop haha w a rein pin, if orisa couldnt use 3 cooldowns immediately to get out of dodge when you manage to pin her in the first place, and if roadhog couldnt take a breather till his full team helps him after getting pinned then it would feel more balanced imo. Im also in favor of doom punch not stunning rein

Flats swaps mauga vs ram but then gets swapped on when going monkey and he's angry. Thats what ow2 does to even the most sane and brightest lads
I think the Pharah was driving him insane. That’s one of the few repercussions of playing tank in overwatch for such a long time.
I love the concept of running in as a big burly mofo with TWO chainguns, but mauge really needs a rework, as he is now, he's overpowered in single encounters and a draw with mirror. And he dies instantly if the enemy has a ana, he just need a rework. He just dont feel fun, and its always what they losing team go to cause they know hes overpowered if the other team dont change to fight him
You know what we need? A Mauga meta, he needs around 2x the abilities so he can even be viable! That way he has a meta!
Flats is being a little silly here, Sigma would have worked significantly better, not only because he is good into Mauga, but because he can shield off the Pharah and not get constantly pelted with rockets.
Queen performs well for half a season (not even in an oppressive way) and Blizzard can't wait to shut it down in the mid-season patch. I bet now that Mauga is back its gonna be at least a full season or two before he gets toned down enough to not completely ruin the game.

I love Mauga, and have One-Tricked him since he released, but yeah, this was way too much. 5 second charge, good luck trying to CC him. I'd drop the Cooldown back to 7,maybe 7.5, and that would be more than fine. I'd keep the speed buff, as Mauga can use his charge for high-ground jump techs, some which are now only doable with that extra speed.
I like Mauga. I’m sure there are others that like him as well. I’m glad they are making him a little more viable.

This might shock you, but if a character is under performing they should get Buffed. Even if their kit absolutely sucks. The balance team will eventually try and fix mauga

But if it still feels like crap to a majority of the players, then the numbers mean nothing significant. And "underperforming" has absolutely nothing to do with the character's power in games. Bc remember. Metal rank players also influence the stats and are objectively not good at the game. So how much of a percentage is skewed bc of players without the mechanics or knowledge to play the character correctly? We can talk about numbers all we want, but the application and interpretation of said stats isnt always right. Why do you think they almost always revert some of these micro buffs for some of these characters?

Because eventually that will lead to all of the characters getting the same treatment which will spark outrage. Imagine if everyone in the roster gets Buffed but tracer gets left behind. How much outrage will that cause? It's a 'damned if we do, damned if we don't' situation. My hope is that eventually the dev team fix these problem characters. But until then, they will have to do Buff and nerf game.
I mean realistically we don't how much issue these recent Mauga buffs are causing in the community. It could be fine. Like, they did decrease the time which his gun lights characters on fire. Which makes him more viable against squishy character, and not a just a tank buster. Which is a good thing

I don’t get why Mauga is still treated like a Roadhog since they reworked him. A Mauga running around the map slamming people is totally different than when he used to stand in the front holding L+R click two inches from their tank and not dying.

@@TinyLokiGaming People like many things. Doesn't mean its healthy for the game. Ana differs from the other stock supports is that her kit can be used proactively for little risk. Sure she's vulnerable but with >2 tanks and another support at her aid, the vulnerability is smaller. It's huge change from Overwatch's original high risk high reward gameplay that was commented on by the devs during Classic's launch.

Playing OW classic makes OW 2 feel less fun. The best thing they did to Overwatch was add roles, for me is the only downside to playing classic. OW2 only has 2 modes, take damage without health change, or take damage and explode. OW 1 didn't need burst damage to kill, you can always out damage heals, falling over is much different than exploding. Its the difference of a bad decision, vs WTH i had full heath. The latter feels horrible to play against.

If you ever think “Does Mauga need a buff” the answer should nearly always be no 😭 How many times do we need to have a god awful Mauga meta before you realise no one wants buffs to boring tanks (Mauga Orisa) and nerfs to fun tanks (JQ)

It really sad how much people hate this game I started on ow2 in season 7 had no idea what I was doing I just played mercy zen till I got tank in RQ I had no idea what I was doing they tank on the enemy team was playing orisa I was on ram cus he looked so cool I was not putting up a good fight my team said switch to sigma I locked in orisa cus sig looked way to hard and I’d already seen how the enemy was playing her I demolished the enemy team with an Ana pocket in far back I could not be stopped I diffed the enemy tank in seconds just gobbling up damage with spin fortifies into the lw mercy back line my dps dueled the other dps I speared one my dps finished em off I took a cass mag grenade my dps finished em off they didn’t have time to get back before we captured the point it was the first time ingame that i had done it I had tanked with everything I had at the time now there’s a good chance overwatch is gonna be taken off servers after everyone leaves for deadlock and rivals and I’ll be stuck with memories of a game I’d wanted to play for years finally got to and it turns out it was the worst version of it 😢

Bro you must be living under a rock. They nerfed Sombra into the ground which is a big part of why widow and mauga are running rampant right now. If they make invis a seperate cooldown from translocator and make hack last slightly longer the game would be healthier than its current state.

I used to enjoy playing orisa, mauga, and roadhog, but iv recently become a reinbro and I understand why flats hates them. honestly its the pharah and wreaking ball picks that give me absolute fits tho. I'm strongly in favor of pin temporarily hacking tanks. If you could stop haha w a rein pin, if orisa couldnt use 3 cooldowns immediately to get out of dodge when you manage to pin her in the first place, and if roadhog couldnt take a breather till his full team helps him after getting pinned then it would feel more balanced imo. Im also in favor of doom punch not stunning rein
if u bait all 3 cooldowns on orisa u can go back and heal up and re-engage and win against her since all her CDs are gone also alot of this sounds like you're just brute forcing your way in ,you cant just pin in and expect to win you are supposed to bait out abilities before engaging same way if I was playing doom i'd wait for sleep or hack before I engaged. You can see it in flats gameplay here aswell when he was playing against sigma as rein he baited the rock from sigma before he engaged.
forcing out abilities is one of the main responsibilities for tanks and heroes like tracer/genji

The tank experience is fucking miserable. Pick a tank. Team wipe. Watch the entire enemy team switching to counter you and focus you specifically. Switch, rinse and repeat.

Don't go support. You'll just get hard targeted so that they can kill your tank.
