If a NUC is overtaking a RAM & I'll be on the ram so what would be my action kindly elaborate
As a RAM VESSEL you will maintain your course and speed as you are a stand on vessel as per overtaking rule , here special circumstance is that overtaking vsl is NUC but rule no 18 doesn't apply when overtaking situation is there but as per the good seamanship practices you might give that vsl space by altering to opposite side from where she is overtaking you.
what will if brg is exactly 22.5 deg abaft her beam. what situation we will considered????
As in the rule says if any doubt .. consider yourself as a overtaking vessel and keep clear

more than 22.5deg, in day time how will you decide that you are more than 22.5 abaft her beam your radar,ais not operational you dont know the heading of the vessel???
In a day time you can see the vessel clearly by using binocular the aspect of the vessel can be judged visually and if u have any doubts you have to consider that you are the overtaking vessel and keep clear as it states in this rule
