Hello Adam. I moved to Arizona a few years ago and never knew about Long Wongs wings. I have a to go and check it out. Enjoy your time in Phoenix. Bring lots of water and stay cool.
Adam, it's hot here where I live in Oklahoma 93 and feels like 💯! Really enjoyed your awesome and cool video! Love seeing stuff from back in the good old days! Your wings looked so good! Looking forward to your next vlog.
Hey for us in the valley this has been a very cool summer so far. No 110s in June. I cant ever remember that happening in 56 years of being here. Typically we have had atleast 10 and several115 by now. The catle is cool to go thru. Parts are mace tith bottles and son like the building in DCA Radiator Springs. Love the man's treasure! Lots of muffler men in AZ couple in Flag in and out of the NAU dome. Route 666 in AZ was renamed 191 and is a scarey but gorgeous route in eastern AZ no guard rails and 2000 foot plus sheer drops. I admire what you do and have not missed an upload since 2013 on either channel. Thanks for showing the world what out in the world. People need to take time away from interstate highways and ride to forgotten roads and truely see America! Oh and the Rays v. Dbacks series has been great to watch! The ball is an old painted over Union 76 station ball. Went there a lot with my grandparents when the station was there in the early 70s.
My brother lives in Phoenix and we were just visiting him in April which was very nice temperature. Downtown Old Towne in Scottsdale is awesome. Love your vlogs!
That lumber jack statue brought back a memory I completly forgot about until now. Back in the 60s my mom and dad moved us out to California and on the way we stopped at a place in Flagstaff Arizona where there was a giant version of that lumber jack out in front of this resturant we ate at and I think it was even called "The Lumber Jack Cafe" or something like that. Memory is a weird thing aint it?
My day can’t start until I have a piping hot caffeinated beverage with Adam the Woo. Watched Goonies last night with my kids. Then showed them your vlog on the filming locations. Thank you for making enjoyable content for all ages. They loved that one.
Adam goes above and beyond the call of duty and brings Phoenix to his viewers; risking heat stroke in 107-degree Phoenix summer heat, scorpion stings, and rattlesnake bites.
Greetings Adam the Woo, from Mesa, Arizona. 107 is nothing, yard work weather. But you need to be here during the monsoon and experience one of our haboobs.
That bowling alley signage is definitely one of the coolest! You were so close to North Mountain, and the mountain preserve when you were in Sunnyslope! You should drove up to take a look, even though it's too hot to hike. Phoenix has a bunch of cool mid-century architecture. You would also like the Cheese N Stuff sign at Central & Camelback.
The all green trees toy mentioned around the 21 minute mark are called Palo Verde trees. Translated to green stick. They’re green year round with tiny leaves adapted for the sun. Also they bloom brilliantly yellow in the spring.
The GREEN TREES are Arizona's state tree, the palo verde (Parkinsonia florida). Palo verde means "green stick." The palo verde is found in the desert and the foothills of Arizona.
I love that. "It's a dry heat" ....well you can take your dry heat and..... now if you'll excuse me I'm going home where my ac is crankin so hard it may start to snow!
Hey Man. Wanted to thank you for being such a main inspiration for me starting my own RUclips journey. It's amazing to see how far you've come with your channel. Even if you don't respond to this or ever read it, I just wanted to show my gratitude to you for being so inspirational!
@@TheDailyWoo it's been such a learning experience. I'm genuinely enjoying it and it's giving me so much motivation to be me in front of the camera. I appreciate your words sir.
Very eclectic places you showed. I like the street sign mural. Also the yard full of metal items is pretty cool to look at. In a small way it reminds me of some of the unusual items that my folks had when I was growing up. For instance my dad and brother each had a large rocket ship ride vehicle that they got from an auction when a local amusement park shut down (that my dad grew up with and I went to a couple of times). They sat in our garage for years one on each side. Interesting when you opened up the garage and saw those. Also another thing was my parents had an antique fire engine. I remember sitting up on the back of it when I was young and just playing like I was putting fires out. My dad just loved to collect stuff. Probably where I get my eclectic taste from.
loving this trip to arizona.... dont remeber a darn thing lolololo. BUT just good to see the mountains!!! OH Wait i do remember the rock place !! Man thats just crazy Thank You Adam this was cool
I saw on a tour of the castle the husband came for TB treatment and his wife and daughter didn't even know why he left. He ended up building the castle for his wife and daughter which was a surprise to them not known until after he had passed. The guide says his wife used to kick people out constantly that would just wander in to look. So she finally put up a sign saying we charge for tours and then kept doing those tours like Adam said until she passed.
The tree at the first of the video with the seed pods looks like a Mimosa tree. I recognize the pods and leaves of it. We used to have one in the front yard of the house I grew up in. They do well in dry climates. They produce pink fluffy flowers.
@@catherinemadrid6849 no those werent mesquite trees. I have 16 acres in my back yard with mesquites. The leaves are different on a mesquite and mesquites are full of thorns that are 1 to 2 inches long. Those seed pods are flat and a mesquite tree pods are more like bean pods in a garden, more round. Also I wouldn't grind mesquite bean pods into anything and eat it. They brought mesquite trees into Texas thinking cattle would eat them and found out cattle and people won't eat them. Yuck
Love it. Long Wong Wings what a word! Try to say it fast. Many times I've said it. Oddities and abandoned places is how I found all my favorite vloggers!
What a trip seeing the Paul Bunyan Muffler Man. My hometown of Escondido, California has a Joor Muffler Man that they dressed up for holidays like Christmas and sometimes Easter with bunny ears.
there's still one left in Uniontown, Pa as well, at a tire shop holding a giant muffler. last i saw he was still painted in Steelers uniform colors of black and gold, they also used to put costumes on him once in a while years ago, bunny ears, a santa hat and lights around the muffler, and a green scarf for st pat's, but not as often after he got refurbished a couple decades ago. i guess they didn't want to accidentally damage him swinging the lifter around to get up there to dress him anymore, it can't be easy or cheap getting one of them repaired properly.
Big daddy Roth NHRA was a big inspiration on my own personal art form. Especially ' rat fink' which has influenced a lot of underground artists to do drugs.❤😂
WOW, there are some really unique oddities there. We stayed in Phoenix, and I never knew those places are there. I'd love to see that Mystery Castle. Thanks for sharing, Adam.
It's funny I have lived here for 51years most of my life. They never call 104° Excessive. It had to really get over 110°+ for it to be called Excessive. I wonder what has changed? 🤔
Hello Adam. Yes the metropolitan area gets Very hot in the summer months. We endure by staying indoors during the mid-day and only go out early morning and late evening. 107 isn’t too bad. Today’s high is 112, Monday’s forecast is 116, and next Thursday’s is 119.
Enjoy your videos! Safe travels.
I've lived in AZ my whole life and never have seen those yards, very interesting. I hope you're enjoying your stay here in AZ. :)
go out and explore! i'm sure theres way more cool stuff hiding in plain sight :)
The green trees are Palo Verdes translation for green wood in Spanish. There is a Long Wongs in Tempe, that is were the Gin Blossoms got there start.
Very hot here in Winter Garden as well. Can't escape it Adam. Unless you head north and then have smoke from Canadian wildfires.
yep here in WI . i know the days here are hazy and the air quality can get bad .from the wildfires

Indeed, it has been a very refreshing spring/summer compared to what we get normally. As we usually get a few days in June that are in the 110s.
AZ 105 is like Missouri 85. I got hard nipples right now and it's 84
I bet you all have comfortable AC.
Interesting video! I wouldn't mind having a neighbor with all the signs and magical stuff to enjoy every day!!!! Thanks, Adam!!!

It’s 70 degrees in Bodega Bay, CA today. Escape the heat and do a Birds filming location vlog. It would make Hitchcock proud.
Heck yes . I need to get up there one day
