LESGO! hope Moroccans treat you well. We Moroccans have a weird relationship with foreigns, you will be surprised by some interaction but trust me, alot of people are genuine and full of love
Yo Nate - I am of Moroccan descent. I want to let you know some things about Asian stereotypes. Sadly sometimes stereotypes begin only because of lack of information. A lot of Moroccans grew up, especially from the older generations 40+ with very minimal content about Asia and it's people. The only references they had were Hollywood movies and big personalities like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan (Hollywood itself also has problematic eras in movies with blacksploitation and I want to say asiansploitation, entire movies based around Asian stereotypes etc). So when some person points at you or says ''Jackie Chan'' or ''Bruce Lee'', please don't see it as a genuine attempt at being racist but rather as someone trying to pull the only point of reference they have to the entire continent of Asia to try and relate with you. I know it's dumb and ignorant and someone would do better just speaking person to person. But especially if you are not Chinese descent and another Asian ethnic group - and may be offended to be associated - just remember that this is probably the only two names they know for an entire continent etc. Nowadays the access to media with the internet is changing so quickly and people have access to more information. A lot of young moroccans actually consume content about Asia, some even go study in countries abroad (China, SK, Japan), some go to holiday there (Vietnam, Thailand) and like the local culture and music (Kpop is huge amongst the young girls). So thankfully it is changing but we want to apologize if our older generations and least educated people would interact in reductive or wrong manners with you. Moroccans are in general loving and nice friendly people who love to exchange and talk but many don't have the level to match in conversation the respect they could show in a native conversation.
Thank you brother. I actually struggled with this sometimes when little kids or even grown adults would stop me to make comments. Normally I would just laugh it off and not be too bothered, but other times I have to admit my patience is tested. But I have realized that it’s not hate or discrimination, it’s just they dont know much about my people yet. Similarly, many people have misconceptions of Arabic countries but having lived here for 2 months now, they are some of the most welcoming and lovely people. I appreciate you and your words
@@nathanielkimfutbol Inchallah you will be a great ambassador for your people and create many great bonds which will have a lasting impact on the awareness of our local population. You are our guest and a visitor who can enlighten many with your view points so do not be afraid to share more with locals about your culture and be bold enough to use these similarities and reductions to evidence how reductive they also can be in treating Asians, the message will go through. And if they are some that are actually being annoying or dumb (probably youth or the local schizo lol), do not hesitate to clap back with a bad arabic impression (if you feel safe). But most importantly, every moment is a teachable moment in life and I can tell by your attitude that you are a great spokesperson for not just Asian-Americans but also Asians (in a way you do speak and act for all of them by defending your diversity and individuality) and of course your local native group (which I assume is Korean based off the name Kim, right?). Anyways take good care brother, and enjoy life in Morocco :) You are a well travelled, and well lived person who will have so many life experiences to speak about in the future. Congratulations.
@@o.a-b7212 Thank you my friend. I realize that each interaction I have shapes the image the Moroccan have of asian people so I always am mindful of how I act and what I say. Morocco is a beautiful country and I intend on spending every moment with respect and curiosity to learn more.
Hello! I had done some research and also talked to local Moroccans. They consider Agadir in the southern part of Morocco and my online sources also tell me the same thing.
@@nathanielkimfutbol we often refer to Agadir as being in the south compared to cities like Tangier or other northern areas, but it’s not the southernmost city... You can still travel about 1533 km down to Lagouira and it’s all part of Morocco. Respect the territorial integrity of our country .This is important for us !
My man made it to my country, I hope you succeed in your journey and good luck!

You're welcome, but just a small clarification ; it is not in the south of Morocco but in the central-west part of the country. Please respect that
