I agree about not being able to see which books is in the chiseled bookshelves. I saw a mod which allowed you to see which books is in what slot using a "hologram". Could be cool in vanilla

Nah fam you got it all wrong, they already announced the theme on twitter.
The theme is representation. I'm not joking. That is the actual theme, of a minecraft update.

Thats not what they announced, they said it's self-expression and storytelling, as i literally said in the video, but even then thats too broad and flimsy of a theme, like we still don't know what else we could possibly be getting in the update

@@gigaffairs They have said that too, but I do remember them saying "representation" was a theme as well, I think maybe in the reddit QnA? Overall I simply agree that the theme is too flimsy.

It's not a fucking filler update ffs
They only announced features that had been worked on more features that haven been announced are coming
We find out the name of the update later down the line wish people would stop spreading misinformation.

yes it's a filler update, like the wild update, the next logical step after Caves n Clifs would have been the end update, but they didn't do that for some reason, instead a not-so-wild update, so maybe they would do it for 1.20? nope, another smaller in scope update, and without a name, i know we didn't see everything yet, but seriously, theres only so much you can add in an update about "self-expression and storytelling", its obviouslty an update with a small scope, kingbdogz said that an update on the same level as the nether update was "not sustainable" for them, plus an article came out from mojang (featuring features from now on) mentions that their core team grew from 15 people 3 yeast ago, to 80 people as of now, and how it was a difficult proccess, its clear to me they they aren't ready to do a nether sized update for the end right now, and they are doing these filler updates for the time being, because once they do the end update they will have to go all in

@@gigaffairs we don't know the scope of the update yet just because it's not the theme you were expecting doesn't make this a filler update the end probably won't get updated as it already got a recentish update and there are tons of creative block and decorations they could add going by the hanging sign and the chiseled bookshelf.
This update is likely to add tons of new block sets based on different countries and cultures building styles / materials

@@vanimapermai the new bookshelf boils down to a incredibly limited and cumbersome to use 6 slots chest, the camel is gonna be added just to instantly be an obsolete means of transport, a new wood type, signs, we dont know the name of the update but we know the theme,
so we know the scope, many purely esthetical items added, with not many regards given to how practical any of them are, only connected to each other by the theme os "self-expression an storytelling", what big feature could even be added under that? unless they add some kind of structure, thats what the update will boil down to, a bunch of random inconcequential features, fitted for very specific niches, so specific that they wont have much impact on gameplay, like the allay.
this is like if they made Village and Pillage, but without all the villager and pillager features, and only the blocks, the campfire, bell, grindstone, barrel, lantern, new furnaces and crafting tables.
those are docorative blocks and many of which are useful, but they were added to complement the greater features of the update, adding depth to it as a whole, 1.20 is lacking that, there wont be a greater feature that connects everything together, its clearly smaller in scope, thats why this is a filler update, it has nothing to do with it not being the update i expected.
also, the hell you mean the end got a "recentish" update? it was updated 6 years ago buddy, thats over half a decade, recentish would be 3 years max, mojangs slugish develpment cycle has warped you sense of time, the end is barren of content, thats why it needs an update

@@gigaffairs _This is 1.19.3, not even 1.20 yet,_ just experimental previews, and it's _so early_ that it's silly to immediately judge the update. There has been _many quality of life improvements_ and they said they were trying to build it around _what the community wants,_ even so much as not immediately giving it a name so as to not bring people's hopes up too much, _exactly what happened to the Wild Update._
By the way; your critique of you not being able to choose a specific book to take out has aged badly lol.

    • @gigaffairs
      @gigaffairs  Год назад

@@DJSlimeball no, these are 1.20 features, 1.19.3 just adds minor things like fillbiome command and new vex skin, we can judge the update based on what you just said "quality of life improvements" which is small things that "the community wants", so nothing mind blowing, which means it will amount to a smaller than avarage update, thats quite easy to see, unless they have some huge new feature they are secretly working on, like archaeology.
and no, my critique of the bookshelf hasn't "aged Badly" bruh thats not how that works, me and many others complained that the way of stacking and removing books was very impractical, and then they adressed that complaint and fixed it, the next thing to adress is to allow books to have their own color, for easier identification
