Excavators move like that at full extension so the mechanics look correct. But to use a excavator correctly you start from the furthest point and dig piles, tracking along the face of the cut you wish to dig, then you use a loader to fill the feeder in this instance or you would have another excavator on top of the nice long pile loading dump trucks and taking it to stock pile. Break the job into a grid pattern before you dig anything at the start and think about how you can attack each job, all you did here was make a huge mess and restrict your access points to your feeder.
Game seems pretty zen ... thanks for sharing! I'm thinking of getting it based on what you've shown so far, but I'm wishing it had VR support. It would help a lot with perspective/depth.
I am suprised the info does not mention arm reach, that is always an important when selecting your equipment. I give you credit for operating with a mouse and keyboard, its a difficult but fun machine to master in real life.
You're digging it wrong...start making a ramp in front of you so you can descend and dig deeper...you can also track that machine up and unload the bucket in case you hit the jackpot
Dont know if your gonna see this kerbo but do you have advice on just how to start cause im trying to get into the game but having a hard time choosing if i should start a save with lots of money to just learn the game or start with only 400k any advice? I know its gonna take time to get to the big cool stuff just wondering how my base area should be
I haven't played for quite a while so am not sure about best start options these days. To learn the game there's nothing wrong with starting a save in creative mode (or whatever it's called) and just trying things out. If you check out the Season 2 playlist I start by the coal plant and that might give you some ideas for that map. Happy digging!
You can pick up any placed item with the wrecking ball tool. It's 2nd from the right on the toolbar. Your stored items will disappear so be sure to empty any storage before picking it up
@@KerboOnYT Thanks! I couldn't find info, I was thinking the wrecking ball destroyed item for good. Different to how you can store loaders etc in to inventory. Cheers
As I was told when I first learned, if you can make a 2.5-3 ton operate smooth and clean when you jump on a 40-80 tonner you will operate like a rockstar
The vehicle physics are kind of clunky and there's no sense of mass. The next big update is changing vehicles quite a bit so I hope that gets addressed. This game is a little quirky, but if you like moving material then it's quite fun. Thanks for watching!
Something I hear a lot from M&K players is that they are bad with controller. I always wondered why? Like did most people that have pc not play console earlier in life? Just things I wonder.
I didn't think I would like this series, but I keep coming back for more.
It's strangely addicting
If they add the giant shovels like Big Brutus, I'm totally down for this!
Here's hoping!
Agreed! I would love to see some of the old cable machines like a big dragline.

I had fun making a huge mess though :) Thanks for watching!
Gotta dig deep for that W.

Dig a hole, dig a hole, dig a hole... My younger brother is a natural at running these... more skilled but less experienced engineer as well.

is time to digging a hole mine hole 🕳️.
How do you hook up to buckets in the excavator
It's changed a lot over various patches so I'm not sure currently. Try getting close to it and look for an attach option on the inventory menu.

Open your bucket to dig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was 8 month's ago i know but im glad they added a button to hold the rocks into the bucket! Big help
What button?
@@brandonkb2010 I would have to load the game again to remember but I believe it was V

@@KerboOnYT Awesome no worries thank you so much i will have to try that out and play around!
Nice! Just grabbed it to have a go. Good fun. How did you move your hopper and storage?

Use a slug hammer
You going to start with conveyors soon to help out?
I don't need conveyors right now, but will use them when appropriate
1:42 That's what she said...
I might get this game to just see how the excavator act compared to a real machine. I do use excavator but more of the smaller variety.
I've heard with dual joysticks it's quite good, but I haven't tried that yet

@@Skippy2539 I use mouse and keyboard, but as far as I know any joystick will work
Excavator moves like drunk faking sobriety
I'm definitely clumsy with the excavator, but hope to improve with practice
Tricky with the mouse. I'd be no better
Would u say enything that you don’t think works to good I want to no before I buy it but u made me sold thanks for that

I never played console other than a bit of Mario way back in the day on NES. My kids have an XBox but I don't really use it
