Vincent, said it in other videos, and i'll say it again but you are doing an amazing work! this videos are so informative, refreshing, they feel like what all youtubers tried to do years ago but derailed from, and you just nailed it! keep the amazing work you are such a valuable asset for this parks and their "fun facts" / "secrets" giving them the showcase they are meant to be in! great work greetings from mexico ✌🏻🇲🇽
@ I didn’t even search for this video, never even knew there was a universal in japan. Such an interesting video and I applaud you for it. You deserve more recognition
Jaws... my God, I was at USF in the last day of operations, in January of 2012. I HAVE to go to Japan just to have this experience again. What a great video, I really loved it! Thanks for sharing!!
Getting rid of Back to the Future the Ride in any Universal park was a big mistake. I wish we could have kept one of them. Florida has ET, Japan has Jaws, but now none of them have BTTF. It should have been kept in at least one of the parks
Because they have jaws I’m gonna say Japan. FL’s studios is a shell of its former self. I loved classic universal growing up. Now I don’t even recognize the park
The Ghiradelli facade in USJ used to house the Backdraft show from USH which are now both defunct. Also the Jurassic Park ride is the exact mirror image copy of the River Adventure in IOA. They stop the frozen variety of butterbeer in the winter cos it's "too cold".
Love it! Thanks for sharing! We must be about the same age because I remember Jaws vividly and I too would probably cry after riding it again. We are planning a trip to USJ one day. We wanted to try in 2025 but with our opening day Epic Universe tickets, it clashes with the timeframe we could've gone. We have a mission to visit every Universal park in the world but it's a little harder with kids lol. We just returned from Spain and we went to PortAventura World Park there. Universal used to own them and it's definitely evident. I'll be posting a video once I get time to edit it. Not the level of video of yours but just my own take.
6:22 There’s actually an attraction that’s a block across Stage 22 called “Playing with Curious George” where you can interact with the titular character. Previously, the soundstage where the Curious George attraction is now located used to be the attraction starring Woody Woodpecker called “Animation Celebration” before it closed down in 2017.
Love seeing the comparison. Great video! Did it feel more congested in places? It seems like they really tried to fit a lot more stuff into certain areas of the park.
Not really! It was pretty 1:1 to USF. Even with the larger crowds, it never felt chaotic or unmanageable. Worst was probably Super Nintendo going up and down stairs, not excited for that at Epic Universe
I just subbed and you dropped this. I remember going to USJ and being blown away and coming back and its the same. I think you are spot on. Thought Mario was the only miss for me. All else: tremendous, down even to the service. Two things to add to your review are City Walk areas. USJ pulls this off well too with the locations of the hotels (being right at the door) and the City walk to me feels a bit more immersive. A bonus of japan is the wide selection of omiyage that can be found. I find myself spending way too much on buying them for persons home. will you do a USS Beijing? Minion land is opening in Singapore next month and will definitely add to the park since its a bit small for now that can be done in about 1/2 day. One great bonus of USS is the cost of souvenirs. A lot more affordable than Japan.
I’m glad you liked the video! I feel like I’m much closer now to visiting all the Universal parks that I’ve got to try and finish it off. Beijing would be awesome, but China seems like a harder trip to plan than Japan and it’s gonna be a minute for me to recover financials from that trip haha. But hopefully in the next year or two!
@@VincentVision Definitely add Beijing or Singapore to your list. US Singapore is very easy to go go through as its small and Singapore is nice too (I dont think you need a visa). I've never done Beijing. But having been to China and Japan, I dont think China is harder to plan at all. I assume you are American or Canadian and probably just need a visa.
LOVE 💜 your content!!!!! In order to hold a candle to international themed entertainment, here in FL, we need: - Pokemon in place of Simpsons (i.e. a New Pokemon Snap darkride) - Hollywood Drift in place of Supercharged and/or Rockit (either way Supercharged gets a crisp new headstone😒) - The 4D rotating-theme theater (either added or replacing something in the main drag) - Any kind of VR or AR attraction (see again, New Pokemon Snap or Harry Potter wand duel concepts) Until these things happen. Japan's Universal Studios will always win because of it's continuous advancements 🤷🏾♂️
Absolutely Hands Down Japan Wins Every Time, Not Even Close. Bet this guy did not take advantage of the buy 2 days get the 3rd day absolutely Free found online only. Absolutely love love that Banana Ice Cream W/Hot Fudge. Outstanding All Around
I have watched audience participation in other YT vids at Tokyo Disney and Japanese pro baseball game. It is 2X to 5X over typical US parks. That makes these USJ medium-sized shows and streetmosphere stuff more sustainable. USF has "lost" street bands, Fish throwing/stunt show in San Fran, Ghostbusters at library, etc. You need a core of 10-20% of audience really getting into it - to attract and keep larger audience. Which then creates enuf value for management to keep them
I'm Japanese That was a great comparison Orlando and Japan both are great parks But like E.T. and The Mummy There are few legendary rides in Japan. The situation is left to Hello Kitty and Nintendo. I envy Orlando
What month did you go here because dealing with the refurbs must have been frustrating especially going all the way out there. And can we replace F & F with the Demon Slayer ride please and thank you???
USF/IOA are my home parks and if you're just comparing USF vs USJ, USJ wins because of Flying Dinosaur, Hollywood Dream, Super Mario World, and for having the last remaining JAWS ride. However, they closed their Spiderman ride which knocks it down a couple of points. USF is bogged down by bad rides like F&F and Jimmy Fallon. Now if you're comparing IOA against USJ, it becomes a little more difficult to determine a winner because I think Velocicoaster is the best roller coaster I've ridden (out of about 70 so far) and Hagrid's, Hulk, and Spiderman carry the park, but again IOA has a few dead spots that USJ doesn't have, so USJ might win here too. Time will tell if Epic Universe becomes my new favorite Universal (and in general) theme park next year.
@@Dangic23 That's because it was built in 2004 and was a clone of the original 1999 ride at Islands of Adventure. The graphics for both versions of the ride were updated in 2012 I think.
Jaws over there will be gone sooner than later, it was finished in 2006 so that’s the only reason it’s still around, because it’s newer. If they had built it in 1990 like Orlando I guarantee jaws would already be gone
it opened with the park in 2001, so it’s older than Orlando’s was. plus, the boats are being replaced/upgraded to biodiesel - so I’d think it at least has a few years left.
Jaws is a weird fit for USJ. I was shocked it was there the first time I visited. Nobody thinks about Jaws, and even less in Japan. (I’m was a Jaws movie era kid)
obviously, Japan. not because I'm a weaboo who thinks Japan is always better, but because the park is genuinely better with more diverse lands and attractions, as well as being larger. that isn't to say that the Orlando park is bad, it's just smaller and has less. I feel the same way about the China and Singapore parks as well.
Universal Japan made a good decision not putting f and f ride over there or Fallon. I’m jealous of the flying dinosaur and jaws.
Loved this one! Thanks Vin!

Your killing it. Love these videos, glad you got to go and enjoy it! It really looks amazing.
I agree about dreamworks land in Florida. I felt like it was a budget land that was put together that could’ve been done a whole LOT better.
Amazing video! 🥰
Love it! Also, thanks again for what you do. It was great meeting you Friday!
Great comparison! Very well put together, I am impressed.
Thank you! Was very excited to make this one

Super insightful! Thank you, would’ve loved to see Backdraft
Last year, I visit Orlando at the first time❤ and next may i travel to Japan ❤ I'm so happy 😊
As a Brit, I was slightly taken aback by the way you pronounced Costa, but great video! Would love to visit either one of these parks one day.

I want to go to USJ now for Detective Conan show!!!! That’s amazing 🤩
It seemed really popular!
Only thing I like that Japan universal has is the jaws ride but I prefer universal orlando
Can't wait to go here at the end of March!
I lived in Florida and now live in Tokyo.
USJ definitely way better than USF in Orlando.
@@Dangic23 USF is bigger and has atractions like Hagrids and Velocicoaster that arent in Japan

But the USJ experience is better and they have many things that USF will never have.
The collaborations they do with different IPs are epic.
@@Dangic23 the only thing I want in Orlando that are in Japan, are Snoopy and Jaws.

Snoopy is a big thing all overJapan. I don’t know why.
Much better crowds and vibes in USJ.

I love this, I really wish I could do this. Big dream of mine to go to all themeparks
I feel incredibly fortunate and will remember this trip fondly
